User missing from User Profile in SharePoint ONLINE...

Hello Experts,

This issue is regarding SharePoint Online.

I recently came across an issue where only one user is missing from User Profile in SharePoint Online, he is not able to login.

In Admin center, status shows Synced with AD, SharePoint Online License is assigned to him too. While login SharePoint error is: User name does not exists and a correlation ID.

Checked the "Profiles missing from import" property in Online too, his profile is not visible. But while checking in the site permissions, his name popups and doesn't comes in people picker.

Checked On-Prem 2013, user profile is visible there.

Can some please help. Is there any way to forcefully sync only one user profile with Online ?

I have a team site of sharepoint 2013 . I have two issues:

The 'save site as a template' disappeared under site action.

After entered the /_layouts/savetmpl.aspx in browser, it redirected to /_layouts/15/savetmpl.aspx and got an error :'The "Save site as template" action is not supported on this site.'

Remove Metadata on check out

$

Hello

I have a questions about the capability of removing some metadata from a file when checking out a document.

The library has a column called version number (This is an entered value. To show the version for old documents that are being uploaded).

When a document is opened. At the top (of excel for example) there is a section for "Document Properties - Server" that displays the version number as a required field.

If the document has no value then it works fine as you have to enter a value before you can upload the document.

If there is a version number already entered then this value is remembered in the Document Properties and will upload the document with that number.

Is there a way when you check the document out that the version number (just metadata from a column) can be removed so it is blank again so the user has to check and enter a version number manually before they can upload the document

Thank You

We have two servers which should be identical in a web apps farm. One appears fine. One keeps getting these messages in the event logs. What could be the cause?

Hi,

SharePoint 2013 Central Administration Content Database EventCache table growing too large.

We need to confirm a supported way to clean up the EventCache table, as SharePoint doesn’t have a Timer Job to do the cleanup for the Central Admin.

Using a wildcard search reveals all instance of the timer jobs in questions. None which applies to the Central Administration.

PS C:\Windows\system32>

Get-SPTimerJob | ? {$_.name -ilike "*job-immediate-alerts*"} | Select Name,IsDisabled,Parent

Get-SPTimerJob | ? {$_.name -ilike "*job-change-log-expiration*"} | Select  Name,IsDisabled,Parent

Database has large amounts of unused space. Error in Central Admin

Hello I am on

SharePoint Server 2013 SP1 Enterprise Edition November 2018 CU on-premises on Windows

In Central Administration, when I am looking at Database has large amounts of unused space on Lists/HealthReports/AllItems.aspx   for the Review problems and solutions area, I see the

Failing Service:

SPTimerService (SPTimerV4)

I click on the button Reanalyze Now button and get error (far below)

The item is listed below for what is going on, I want to check on the space on the database server (on our SQL Server)

Title
Database has large amounts of unused space.

Severity
 3 - Information

Category
 Availability

Explanation

Following databases have large amounts of space allocated on the disk but not in use. This may be due to recent deletion of data form the database, or because the database has been pre-grown to a larger size. This database will take up a larger amount of space on the file system unless it is shrunk down to a smaller size. StateService

When I click on the button to reanalyze I get this error message and the information below is the correlation ID.  We aren't using PowerPivot and I use the 15 hive as we are SP2013 SP1 Ent Ed.   Excel with our Office Web Apps is working as people open Excel files by default in OWA and that is November 2018 CU as well.

Sorry, something went wrong
An unexpected error has occurred.

I am facing a strange issue while creating a new web application in SharePoint 2013. While creating a new web application it throws below error in Central Admin 2013:

"This content database requires upgrade and could not be attached in this operation. Use either the [stsadm -o addcontentdb] command or [Mount-SPContentDatabase] cmdlet instead"

Please note: I am not migrating any content database and am only creating a new web application and ended up having above error. I have following permissions in DB: Security Admin, DB Creator, DB Owner, Local Admin privileges, Account is a domain user, MAXDOP set to 1.

Other web applications are already created and running fine, i am just creating a new one.

Sharepoint datacenter migration concerns

Hello Team,

I am working in project where all app, database, citrix and other Vms and servers are moved between one datacenter to another with no IP or domain change.

Platespin is the tool proposed for the same and this servers also contain 4 WFE and 1 DB server for Sharepoint 2013 with FAST Search and OWS configured along with Open text ad-on.

Can someone help me to understand strategy that need to be followed here and testing required?

My understanding here is to lock down sites first and then back up and restore DB servers , then move the app servers and bring them up. Post this, sanity testing of all third party tools, rich UI and services will be tested.

Please let me know if any additional work or steps are required here specifically for Sharepoint to work.

Regards,

Swapna

root certificate errors

I got this error in event viewer:

An operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors: Subject Name: CN=SharePoint Services, OU=SharePoint, O=Microsoft, C=US Issuer Name: CN=SharePoint Root Authority, OU=SharePoint, O=Microsoft, C=US Thumbprint: 06E708AFB4151AFE934D98103CDA9291D761A00B Errors:  SSL policy errors have been encountered.  Error code '0x6'..

I checked the certificate with the above thumbprint 06E708AFB4151AFE934D98103CDA9291D761A00B, is not save in SharePoint (none of the certificates in Manage Trust page on central admin) matches it.

where is this certificate? how has this been changed possibly? (I am new to this farm)

how can I add this to sharePoint through Manage trust?

Thanks,

Guangming

Update the auto-generated certificates

I need to update the auto-generated certificates (going to expire soon) in the workflow server. It is a separate server and is connected to a SharePoint farm ( 2 wfe, 1 app, 1 central admin server).

Anyone knows the procedure to do that.

I need to update the first four certificates.

email document to document library and check out item

Hi All,

By function when you enable "require documents to be checked out before they can be edited" in a sharepoint library that has mandatory metadata the obvious effect is that any document that gets uploaded to the library without specifying the metadata gets checked out.

Now if I email enabled the library and send an email to that library should the sent items received by the library not be checked out? I have tried sending emails with attachments to this library and they all get checked in without any mandatory metadata which violates the check in check out rule. Please is there an explanation for this? I wonder why there is not sufficient documentation on this topic.

Many thanks,

Dominic

  • Tried to provision again the usage* services
  • Removed “Usage and Health Data Collection” service and created it again.
  • Checked the “PSModulePath”
  • Checked all the permission level.
  • Re-booted server

Installing and Configuring OfficeWebApps Issues

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to install and configure office web apps in my DEV environemt. I have ran all the commands, Adding features, creating new officeFarms. Everything is done. While running the command New-SPOPIBinding  -ServerName FQDN in SharePoint server it throws me this error.

I even tried the command ending with -AllowHTTP, still no luck. Googled for some answers, some suggested to go to local security settings --> certificate path validation settings --> Network Retrieval.(I see check marks are good)

Checked port 443 is open, checked SP bindinds which were internally https.

Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks

Mike

I have document library in SharePoint 2013 which has folder called "Folder-A" and it has sub folder "Folder-AA".

Users with Read permission able to see "Folder-A" but whenever they want to access "folder-AA",they got access denied error but they are able to access folder-AA if they do right click on Folder-A and open link in new tab. this is happening in only one site collection for all libraries whereas other site collections under same web application are working fine.

any fix?

Thanks
