Problem configuring DNS for SharePoint Apps (Addins)

Hello everybody.

I am trying to configure my Virtual Machine to use SharePoint Addins. I have followed this link to configure my machine which is single SharePoint Farm.

I used following these two powershell command to change App domain and app prefix and I have verfied Changes in CA.

 Set-SPAppDomain "addins.local"
 Set-SPAppSiteSubscriptionName -Name "add-in" -Confirm:$false

In Visual Studio when I hit F5, it shows my SharePoint-hosted Addin and it works. It allso modifies my host file and adds this app-fc28e82f1db258.addins.local. But when I publish my app to app catalog and add it from Site Content it shows This page connot be displayed.

I am not so god at DNS and I realy appreciate all kind of advice.

Hi,

I have a SharePoint 2013 farm with 2 WFE Servers and 2 Application servers and one database server.

Right now we are facing the below error in Event Log when we try to change one of the App server to host the CA by running the Configuration wizard

Failed to connect to the configuration database.

Note: I have removed the server from the domain and rejoined back. But it doesnt resolve the issue

Anonymous access on lists

Would appreciate if anyone can help.

I have setup Anonymous access on web application level and site level. It works fine on the site main page, site assets and site pages, but access is blocked on all lists.

I have stopped inheretance on the lists and made sure that view access is granted to Anonymous, but to no avail. Still get 403 Forbidden error.

How to call multiple powershell scripts in one powershell script?

I have 10 powershell scripts each inputing data from the different csv file, is there any way that i call all the powershell scripts into one powershell script and execute them one after another?

SharePoint 2013 incoming emails stuck in drop folder in multi server farm

Recently after adding a 3rd Web server to a SharePoint 2013 SP1 farm incoming emails getting stuck (in Drop folder) time to time. I've checked few threads already like these (12 and 3).

Restarting SharePoint Timer Service in all WFE servers seem to resume emails flow most of time. A number of times it appears I need to wait over night for the emails to be picked up. May be "Timer Service recycle" over night helps? Also everytime emails are stuck it appears to be the same WFE server. 

We've configured Incoming emails as per this Technet article following "basic scenario" and SMTP and IIS configured on all WFE servers. Now my question is whether "advanced scenario" is required for multi-server farm? Any suggestion/ comment would be appreciated!

two: WFE

two: application servers

in an application servers i am receiving below error in event viewer

web application not provision to one WFE

We have 3 WFE.  i have created web application, this web application provisioned on 2 WFE and not being provisioned at 3rd WFE.

Now this site is in production, pls guide how i can provision / create web application on 3rd WFE.

Continuous Prompt on IE

Hi,

In my sahrepoint 2013 farm I got two WFEs and and one APP server and when I use IE/EDGE to browse my sites I get continuous prompt to access the site + and prompt when I access any subsites also. But this issue is not faced while using other browsers. All my sites are HTTPS sites .

I have disabled LoopbackCheck on all my servers and also the strictNameChecking in Registry

I'm in the process of upgrading SharePoint to 2013. It is mostly for legacy purposes, as a reference, but most importantly, to get off of Server 2003. Also, it was 2007 Enterprise. It was a very basic SharePoint portal, so I was hoping to move it into foundation to get away from the licensing involved with Enterprise. Post upgrade, I cannot get into a site within the site. I get a correlation ID error. I suspect the page may have contained an Enterprise feature, like a Enterprise search web part or something (in 2007, I do see an Advanced Search web part on the page). Is there any way to determine which web part is causing this and turn it off in 2010 or 2013?  I've tried appending the URL with ?contents=1 and it still comes back with an error and a correlation id.

I have been getting this event viewer error for quite some time now. Twice daily.

Insufficient SQL database permissions for user 'Name: CORP\svcspsinsch SID: S-1-5-21-515967899-097525478-1417001333-65152 ImpersonationLevel: None' in database 'Prod_SharePoint_Config' on SQL Server instance 'sqlspsalias'. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.

The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'proc_GetTimerRunningJobs', database 'Prod_SharePoint_Config', schema 'dbo'.

I browsed through quite a few blogs (e.g. this); all mentioning to grant ‘Execute’ permissions for ‘WSS_Content_Application_Pools’ on the 'proc_GetTimerRunningJobs' sp to solve the issue. I have looked into permissions of other sp in the config db and none of them has this permission and yet no error.

Then why is it required for this particular SP only?

Alerts Not Working when "New items are added" is selected

We are using SharePoint 2013 on-premise standard edition. I noticed there was same question at 2009. I am not sure whether it is an old bug or feature.

We have a list with "require content approval" enabled. By setup "Alert me" on that list for  "New items are added", a confirmation email will be immediately sent. The mail will confirm user have setup "alert me" on that list. However, whatever new item added to the list, regardless the item is approved/pending/rejected, no email is sent.

After we change "New items are added" to "All changes", the "alert me" work as expected.

Is it desired behaviour?

How to change ports for multiple SharePoint 2013?

I have 7 SharePoint 2013 sites on a server that I need to change them to use port 80.  The 7 sites use various ports and I need to change all of them to use port 80.  The server is Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and IIS 8.5.  How can I do this?

Sharepoint 2013 July CU 2015 Updates

We have 34 customers and we configured a separate farm for each customer as reflecting to Production environment. Our production servers recently got patched with SharePoint 2013 July CU and we are also refreshing our LAB servers with the same patch.

I tried to install the July CU 2015 patch on all 34 customers. 17 farms are successfully updated and 17 farms are failed with error message "Expected version not found on the system" even same package we installed in all 34 farms. And we installed these patches from Microsoft MSDN site only. Below steps are I performed.

1: Run the exe directly form the downloaded folder with farm admin & System admin account. Got the above failures message 

2: Later run the exe from windows power shell as well share point power shell  with farm admin & System admin account.

         ps c:\> ubersrv2013-kb305937-fullfile-x64-glb.exe package.bypass.detection.check=1

But have the same message.

3:While I checked in CA>>System upgrade status>> APP, FE1 and FE2 are having the few language patches are missing/required. For this I followed these below steps

•Tried running the Get-SPProduct –local, in the servers where we had the issue. But still the issue persists.

•Tried running the command (psconfig.exe -cmd installcheck –noinstallcheck) and it is successful.

•Now tried installing the July CU again, but again it was throwing with the same error.

•Removed the server FE01 from the server farm.

•Tried installing the July CU again, this time also there was no difference.

•Cleared the configuration cache and tried again, still no difference.

 

I tried all the possibilities  with trail and error. But failed.

Most of  the patches are missed relating to the language packs. Earlier we have installed July 2014 CU. Now we are trying to install July 2015 CU.

Please help me. Even If I tried to upgrade  to August 2015 CU, I got the same result.

Broken Images only for Some Users

I am the companies SharePoint Admin. I create all sites using the same images to keep it uniform. I recently created a site for New Hires and the logo of the page appears broken for some of the users. The image is being pulled from the sites, Site Assets folder, could you help guide me on what could be causing the problem?

As I am not too familiar with sharepoint set ups I was wondering if someone could answer what the best practice would be for our situation. 9 cities, but head office and datacenter in our city.

Are either of these scenarios the correct set up??

Scenario 1:

Server 1: Windows Server 2012 with Sharepoint
Standard 2013 and SQL Server Standard 2014

Server 2: Windows Server 2012 with Microsoft Web
Apps

Scenario 2:

Server 1: Windows Server 2012 with Sharepoint
Standard 2013

Server 2: Windows Server 2012 with SQL Server
Standard 2014

Server 3: Windows Server 2012 with Microsoft Web Apps

Also, if you have time, what hardware requirements will be needed on each server?

Sharepoint 2013 Permission Management For Many Site Collections

Hi;

I have sharepoint farm like below topology.

1 Web Application

     10 Site Collections and too many site.

I created User Group on site collection and add users to group.And I use this group any sites on which created on site collection.

I must use this group different site collections.But I can not see this group another site collections.

Now I created this group manually all site collections but it's vey long and wrong way.And it very difficult manage permission.

How can I use this group another 9 site collection?Is there a way?
