I have a web application with 1 site collection with very generic content (Web Application Hosted on SP 2013 Azure subscription) . I want to publish this on Internet (access to everyone)

I have to create the following service Accounts to install the share point on my local server:

1. Sharepoint Admin (spAdmin), 2. Database (sqlSvcAcc), 3. Web Development (spFarmAcc), 4. Application Pool (spAppPoolAcc)

My Environment:

1. My Server is joined to the Domain of the Organisation

Now do I need to create the above 4 accounts at the Domain level (creating accounts in the AD of the Domain)

2. Do I have the create the above accounts on the local machine also (In local user accounts) ???

I have an intranet farm (SP 2013) on a SP server testserv1

I created the following  Host Named site collections on web application http://testserv1

https://abc.test.com   and https://app.test.com

On my DNS,  I created a DNS record for test.com and point to https://testserv1

I need to create some DNS name records to resolve to these HNSC sites.

abc   to point to https://abc.test.com 

app  point to https://app.test.com

so if user type http://abc they will be routed to https://abc.test.com  or  type http://app  then will be routed to http://app.test.com,

I thought about using AAM but my HNSC research I found told me that's not the way to do it for HNSC.

Can anyone advise on how I can accomplish this without using AAM?

We have installed SharePoint 2013 and Office web apps with editing disabled and setup the new Wopi Binding and it works for previews and viewing existing documents. However on libraries, users can still click on the New button then click one of the colourful document options in the "Create A New File" dialog which tries to create a new document in the browser and fails with the message "Sorry you don't have a license to edit documents with Word Web App..." How can we stop users getting this error? We basically want to restrict their ability to create new documents in the browser but still leave them able to view files in the browser and see search previews.

In the WOPI Bindings for e.g. Word we have:

When I try to follow a site on the web application hosting our main webapp on our Content Farm, I get the error "Sorry We couldn't follow the site. " We have two seperate Farms, Services (running MySites with UPS Published) and Content (Running main SharePoint Web App and consuming UPS)

I've ensured that the application pool accounts for MySite (running on the Services Farm) and Content have SPData Access in the Content databases and have noticed errors in the logs as follows on the SharePoint webapp:

We have a SharePoint 2013 test farm setup. When testing the social features I noticed that when I click on a hash tag link the page does not load.  The ULS logs show this:

Getting results failed: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The specified user or domain group was not found. ---> System.Security.Principal.IdentityNotMappedException: Some or all identity references could not be translated. 

The hash tags are showing up in managed metadata and in trending tags. The links just fail when you click on them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How I can implement a single installation over multiple network's?

We have 2 completely different network's that I would like to manage with one installation of SharePoint 2013. Is that doable?

Our internal network uses active directory domain accounts and our external does not.

Is there a way they can live together seamlessly? With one installation of SharePoint?

For example, if I create a Publishing Site for the external site, I want to be able to manage it from our internal installation. That's my goal.

Here is the scenario that I'm in.  UserA uploads a document to a SharePoint 2013 site list. All permissions on SharePoint are using AD groups which this user is a member of.  UserA changes last name, so I change this user account in AD.

When looking at the original document uploaded, the name is showing the old name.  If I click on the name I get this:

http://servername/my/Person.aspx?accountname=with a bunch of gibberish for the rest of the url and the error message:

Not Found - HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found

If I edit the item and remove the user it lets me and when I try to add the user using the new name which it resolves successfully I'm able to save my changes, but the name displayed stays the same.

Any ideas on why this is happening? and/or how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated...thanks.

I have sp2013 farm with dedicated workflow server.

I configured a workflow that send email, it is triggered automatically after a user fill a form in SharePoint site.

I tried this workflow for couples of times and it's work fine, after a while it stop working.

There is not any event in Microsoft event viewer in any server farm.

The only event I can see is in the workflow detailed in the site, this is what I get:

when I delete this workflow, and creating new one, it's working fine foe a while and then again stop working.

I am having an external authentication issue when accessing SharePoint over ADFS and Web Proxy, however this issue started appearing a month ago and was never an issue before.

3 web applications - Intranet, Search, MySite which both have the same URLs internally and externally (webapp.domain.com). Goal is to achieve external access via ADFS and Web Proxy to an internal SharePoint Server.

To cut to the chase - all 3 web apps were previously working externally via accessing the URL of the webapp which redirects to the ADFS login page and you in. Now about a month ago 1 out of the 3 web applications stopped working which was Intranet.

Setup:
ADFS  - Set up with non-claims aware Kerberos authentication
WebApp on SP set to Negotiate
WebProxy x1
SP x3(wfe x2/App x1) on NLB

All reporting they happily communicating between each other.

Behavior:
User:
Recieves an 500 Internal Error when accessing Intranet within browser and gets a completely blank page and the URL has /authtoken=[crazy long number] at the end but still blank page. So this makes me think it is getting the token from ADFS, trying to come back to the user and failing. If I take the url that wasnt working webappintranet.domain.com/authtoken=crazynumber and replace with webappsearch/mysite.domain.com/authtoken=crazynumber it works.

MySite and Search webapps are working 100% externally.

Servers:
SharePoint - ULS logs see an unauthenticated user and does nothing when accessing Intranet

ADFS Server - No errors here

Web Proxy Server - I receive 3 errors within Webproxy:

As the above errors may relate to SPN and delegation configuration I have decuple checked this configuration so I do not believe it is related to that. 

Things to note:
Was all working before
NB: Same account is running application pool for both Search and Intranet(not working) so I suspect the SPN and delegation is correct.

SharePoint ULS picks up activity when I browse on the working web applications externally(naturally) however I can see that an unauthenticated user is trying to access Intranet but arrives as unauthenticated user at SharePoint according to ULS.

Any advice or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone.

I have a very tricky problem- then user tries to change user properties on my sites(entering to /_layouts/15/EditProfile.aspx page) - it just immediatly reloads without any signs of end. Every other page on user's personal site opens just fine.

This happens in every browser and with every user so far and only solution i can find is just disabling MDS feature.

I'm curios - is there any better workaround for this?

I installed all prerequisites and followed instructions in technet.
Everything works this far excepted when i do a search i get the desired results but if i click on the preferences option at the bottom of the page i get an unexpected error.

Please help to which name I should consider before raising SSL certificate for office web apps, I am bit confused whether to consider “Office Web Apps Server name” or “Office Web Apps DNS Host Name” for requesting new SSL Certificate.

Lets say office web apps server name is :  OWASERVER

Lets say office web apps host name is : owa.domain.com

which one to pick for configuring SSL in office web apps.

I am working on a project, the requirement is to migrate the existing SharePoint 2007 farm (on Domain A) to SharePoint 2013 farm(on Domain B). Once SP2007 farm is migrated, the users should be able to access the new farm with old domain, i.e. Domain A. We are thinking of the following authentication options.

Kindly look into it and help us whether these options are technically feasible or not and some example migration projects.

Also, please provide us some links which help to migrate user profiles from SP2007 to SP2013.

1. Windows Authentication(On-premise)
   a. Client informed  us that there is a bidirectional trust between these 2 domains. We would like to propose to use the windows authentication in SP2013, as application can able to recognize users from both domains with trust.
   b. The user profiles from SP2007 will be migrated to SP2013.
2. Claims Authentication(On-premise)
   a. Considering future scalability, we would like to propose SAML token based authentication. So that it can be configured with different domain(s)/ADFS to authenticate users when there is any issue with establishing domain trust with other domains.
   b. The user profiles from SP2007 will be migrated to SP2013.

We have a pretty basic Sharepoint setup that consists of a few document libraries and some static content. I'm trying to find some resources or information on how to import the content into O365. I have .cmp exports from our on-premise servers. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated. So far it doesn't look like O365 supports import-spweb.

I want to get know of the upgrade Process to SharePoint Server 2013.

I have two test Farms. On my 2010 Farm I create a new Web App with a new Site Collection. Then I backup the Content DB to the SP 2013 SQL box and restore it there.

After that I create a new Web App on SP2013 and removed the new Content DB via Central Administration. So my new Web App has no ContentDB.

Then I go to SP PowerShell and type the following cmdlets:

1. Test-SPContentDatabase -Name  SP_Content_Migration2013 -WebApplication http://<WebApp>

No Errors were there!

2. Mount-SPContentDatabase -Name SP_Content_Migration2013 -WebApplication http://<WebApp>

So I expect the old SP2010 Site Collection in my browser, but there was an http 404 Error. I prooved the Content DB under Central Administration and it was added to my new WebApp. But then I looked at the site collections, there was no collection present under the WebApp. "There are no items to show in this view."

Upgrade the ContentDB via Upgrade-SPContentDatabase SP_content_migration2013 shows, that there is no need to upgrade.

Has anybody an idea?
