Hi,

Can we use SQL Server 2012 Developer edition with SharePoint 2013?  One thing that came to my mind was setting max degree of parallelism, is that supported in Developer edition?  Looking forward to your assistance here.

SharePoint 2013 and Office webapps 2013 integration

$

hello,

I'm working on SharePoint 2013 integration with office webapps 2013. I have some below questions that I'm trying to figure it out.

1. Can we turn on office webapps integration on particular web application in SharePoint? OR is just go farm means all the SP web application is integrated with office web apps?

2. Once the integration is done, do we have a way to open a document in the office client? I tried setting the document library setting which says open the document in the office client by default but look like webapps is overriding this setting and it opens up in the browser only.

3. For some reason lets say, office webapps servers is not responding/down. In that case, can we force to open all the doc in the office client? OR do we have to just remove the WOPI binding from SP farm to achieve this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

SharePoint 2013 Workflows: Workflow Types Missing

I'm trying to select a workflow template, but only Disposition Approval and Three-State are showing up.  How can I get the rest of them to be visible?  Here is the message next to the options:

Select a workflow to add to this content type. If a workflow is missing from the list, your site administrator may have to publish or activate it

I want to start trying other templates, so help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I have multiple SharePoint servers which are running on different versions of Windows Servers - some on Windows 2008 R2 and some on Windows Server 2012. Would it be fine to use them in the same SharePoint farm? Can I have 2 WFEs, one with Windows Server 2008 R2 & one with Windows Server 2012 on the same farm?

Cheers,

User Profile Service AD Import and Synchronizing Groups from AD into Multivalue Property

$

How can I get the User Profile Service, in "AD Import" mode, to synchronize AD groups of users into a user profile property?

I have created a new property called "ADGroups", set it's type to a multi-value string, and mapped it to the "memberOf" property in AD for the import process.

After running a full profile sync the property is never populated with any values.

I have been able to successfully create other, single-value, properties and sync them to other AD attributes.

What is the trick with the AD groups?

Thanks,
Richard

Metadata navigation & Filtering

We created a SharePoint list with approximately 15000 items. The list threshold value is set at 5000 items. We defined key filters on the left navigation which work fine on the default views. The key filters are for choice fields.

AllItems.aspx - For this default view, no grouping is set. The key filters work fine and return results.

Custom View - For this view, grouping is set. However, the key fields do not return the right results. They include additional results besides the actual result items. Is this a bug?

Thanks

Timer Job job-create-upgrade-eval-sites is running last 3 days

Hi,

I have done share point 2013  upgrade .Portal is running with  fully functional SP2010 site collation,on SP2013 server.

Before doing site collection upgrade, I wanted to create a Demo Site (Evaluation site), so I can verify that everything is working fine in  SP2013 mode.

I started the creation process of Demo Site try Site Upgrade page by powershell command because my portal is more than 300 GB space,so by wizard we can not proceed

Request-SPUpgradeEvaluationSite http://server/sitecollection

After that I started timer job named "Create Upgrade Evaluation Site Collections job " on that web application. This time job ruining contentiously  from last 2 days, three days has passed since than, and demo site collection hasn't been created.

I tried to check status, using Get-SPSiteUpgradeSessionInfo command, but it has return nothing. I tried using Site and Database switch, but nothing.I checked the database server and got db is just double of existing DB now with same .snp file.

Again I try to execute request command, it said that it is still working.

My question is either how to stop this demo creation and release the database, and start the permanent upgrade, or how to find some status or some info in log files that could point me in some direction, that could help me to create demo site.

Again today i had stop and start the same Timer job.. still running

Error: "We're having a problem opening this location on file explorer. Add this website to your trusted sites list and try again"

Hello,

When i try to open document library from SharePoint Production portal then it throws the specified error. However, when i open document library from SharePoint Development portal then it opens it in file explorer quite easily.

Production portal is on https whereas development portal is on http. Also, UAG has been configured on production portal.

Any idea where it's getting stuck up? Surely, this is not a browser issue on Windows 7 as it's opening the development portal's document library on the same machine.

I've also done following things:

- Configured Desktop Experience on production environment

- Installed the hotfix for Windows 7

Error with HTML User Properties on My Site EditProfile.aspx

$

Hi all,

I've having an issue with http://mysite/_layouts/15/EditProfile.aspx and also the same issue on http://centraladmin/_layouts/15/ProfAdminEdit.aspx.

SharePoint version is SharePoint Server 2013 SP1 Enterprise, version 15.0.4605.1002. Tested on IE10 and IE11.

In my User Profile Service Application, in addition to the out of the box AboutMe HTML User Property, I've created 2 further HTML User Properties. So far so good.

They are ordered as:

1 - AboutMe
2 - Custom HTML 1
3 - Custom HTML 2

From both EditProfile.aspx (in My Site) and ProfAdminEdit.aspx in Central Admin, I can successfully enter data into these HTML user properties. The data entered is being saved OK and is being displayed OK on person.aspx in My Site.

When I come back to edit the user data again, either through EditProfile.aspx or ProfAdminEdit.aspx, it appears that only the data for the last property is being retrieved, so Custom HTML 2 in this example. The other inputs are blank.

1 - AboutMe - BLANK
2 - Custom HTML 1 - BLANK
3 - Custom HTML 2 - DATA DISPLAYED OK

On EditProfile.aspx, if I view the source code, I can see that the data ISbeing retrieved for the two blank properties.

<input type="hidden" name="ProfileEditorEditCustomHTML1_hiddenRTEField" id="ProfileEditorEditbbQuirky_hiddenRTEField" value="blah blah blah Custom HTML 1" />

So the issue is that the data is being retrieved, but not being displayed - the input is empty.

If I add another custom HTML user property, then the result is:

1 - AboutMe - BLANK
2 - Custom HTML 1 - BLANK
3 - Custom HTML 2 - BLANK
4 - Custom HTML 3 - DATA DISPLAYED

So however many HTML user properties there are, only the last input is being populated with data.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or know of a work around?

Thanks...

I created a new site collection with an Team site template and found that the feature was active by default .
In this new site collection I dont have any dependency on Document Set content type, still its not deactivating?

Sharepoint 2013 Online - error while setting up CRM integration

$

Hi,

we use Dynamics CRM 2011 on-premise and Sharepoint 2013 online and since last week CRM integration with Sharepoint stopped working. When I want to set up "Document Management Settings" in CRM administration I got an error

"An error occured while loading the page. The url may not have been mapped in the Sharepoint server. Ask your system administrator to check the Configure alternate access mappings settings in Sharepoint central administration."

But we use Sharepoint online, so I can't configure it.

I think it is common issue after some Sharepoint update in last month, because I tested 2 instances of Sharepoint online with 4 instances of CRM on-premise (3 different versions of CRM 2011 and one last updated CRM 2013).

The first two have to do with reporting services.  I'm trying to workout how to go about getting these errors to go away.  I don't want to remove SQL reporting or migrate a broken site and fix it later.  FYI it does migrate but reporting services is of course broken.

So what I was wanting to do was to upgrade SQL Reporting Services for SharePoint 2010 from 2008 SQL to 2014 SQL first.  This would be in the hopes that it would make the migration to SharePoint 2013 work as the assemblies would change to the proper version.

Can anyone elaborate on my upgrade path?

I'm still looking up the "Claims Based" authentication thing.  I've found an article on how to migrate it so not a big deal.  I do wonder however if this is tied to the issue I saw with default.aspx and home.aspx being denied to all users after I did migrate a content db.

Move content databases from one Sharepoint 2013 to another Sharepoint 2013

Hi, I am about to move intranet teamsite and a MySites from one production Sharepoint 2013 farm to another new Sharepoint 2013 farm. Both farms have used the same ServiceAccounts, and consists for an Database server, Application Server and WebFrontEnd server. Currently the working Sharepoint is on March CU. My question is if I would be able to install Sharepoint with SP1, and move the content db's over without any issues with different versions?

I know I cannot move central administration, or atleast I will not try.

would there be any problems in moving MySites like this as well?

I'm having an issue with the Farm Level Exchange Task Sync on my On Prem SharePoint 2013 farm.  I would like to use the connect task to Outlook feature but we currently use Office 365 for exchange email.  We have a hybrid setup with some on prem exchange servers, those are running Exchange 2010, but all of our mailboxes are in 365.  Can we use this feature in this environment?
