My new installation of SharePoint 2013 SP1 on Server 2012 R2 is causing some headaches for users. At first I thought it was minor, and did not follow up on it. Now it seems to be affecting other users and functions, so I need to get this figured out ASAP.
This is a DEV environment, so we are just trying to get it to work. We are trying to build a BI platform.
The simplest case of this issue is simply trying to create a new folder in a Documents library. We can upload documents, but when we try to create a new folder, all I get is the 'The server was unable to save the form at this time. Please try
again.' message. We apparently CAN add the folder by using Windows Explorer.
I have reviewed several other posts, but none seem relevant or helpful. All components are running on a single server in an AD Domain. We have 20GB of memory allocated to this server, and I have tried stopping the Search Host Controller and resetting
IIS. It also ALWAYS happens, so I do not think memory is the cause.
Now the same problem is occurring when a user is trying to add content to a new custom list. I have suspected issues with Search identities, the least-privilege model for service accounts, and the fact that we are trying to use a DNS specific name
for all configuration (and NOT use the hostname). But I do not know if any of these are affecting it, nor where to look for other suspects. We are trying to get this system to work with AD domain-specific service accounts, so we know what will
be needed in Production.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find anything relevant in the ULS logs. If I need to increase the logging on the ULS logs, how would I know WHAT to increase the logging levels on?
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
