Sharepoint 2013 Login with Email Address

I have the current configuration:

Sharepoint Site Up and running with it running on Sharepoint.InternetDomainName.com

But whenever I login to the site i have to login with LocalDomainName\Username or Username@LocalDomainName.com

Is there anyway I can edit / change the login to allow my users to just use 1 login ID like Lync, Exchange and Sharepoint to all be using Username@InternetDomainName.com to login and access their accounts internally and externally.

Thanks in Advance!

I am having issues in accessing a SP 2013 site that I created on port 80.  This site should actually be visible by everyone but I can't even see it, and I created it.  I keep getting 'Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you.' even though I did share it with myself.

I have tried removing then adding myself as the site collection admin, clearing the Distributed Cache, clearing the bindings.... You name it, I've done it.

Missing Workflow XAML Feature Error during site creation from custom template Microsoft.Workflow.Client.ActivityNotFoundException

Hi,

I am using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with the March CU.

I created a project site template with libraries, lists and workflows and saved it as a template with content.  When I try to create a new site using this template, I get the error pasted at the bottom.

I was using SharePoint designer workflow custom activities created in VS2012. I uninstalled those and decided to call a web service directly from SharePoint designer.  The workflows work fine inside of the site which I want to create a project template from.  When creating a new site from the template, SharePoint complains about a missing workflow XAML feature.

Do I have some leftover references to the custom features? Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

HI

I need to install a new farm on a domain without intenet access.

Which is the best way ?

Should I install all the bits (including all KB) from internet, join the domain and then create the farm ?

Do I need to join the domain first then create the farm and after that to download and install offline all the updates ?

Thank you

Effective Storage Mechanism of a Document Repository Site

$

Hi Team,

We have a MOSS application that is built in WSS3.0/MOSS 2007 and is a document repository system.
On a daily basis large number of documents are uploaded to this MOSS Site. The documents are stored into the Content Database after fulfilling some criteria. Below are the Content Databases.

Content Database A
Content Database B
Content Database C
Content Database D
Content Database E

Since, each of them have exceeded the Microsoft specified limit of 100GB, secondary data files have been added and thus each of the above databases currently store data till 325GB and is increasing by 2GB on a monthly basis.

Questions
1) At the rate the data is being uploaded it will break the 400GB maximum limit. Is this adviceable storage mechanism?
2) Is performing a migration to SharePoint 2013(or 2010) a better option than adding Second Generation Content Databases?
3) Offlate, users are reporting performance issues and when a PAL report was generated it highlighted some critical warnings. Do they suggest database issues or any performance issues? If so, how to tune them?
4) Any whitepapers/documents available to find exact resolution to the critical warnings generated in the PAL report?

PAL Report Critical Warnings

1)Less than 5 percent of RAM is available or less than 64MBs of RAM is available

2)Greater than 25ms physical disk READ response times

3)Less than 500 MB of free disk space

4)More than 5,000 Context Switches/sec per processor, more than 30% ratio of privileged to total CPU, and more than 70% total processor time or more than 20,000 Context Switches/sec

5)Possible Handle Leak: More than 500 handles between overall Min and overall Max and an increasing trend of more than 500 handles per hour

6)More than 80% Processor Utilization

7)Greater than 25ms logical disk WRITE response times

8)Page life expectancy is less then 5 minutes

9)More than 30% privileged (kernel) mode CPU usage

10)Possible Memory Leak: More than 500MBs between overall Min and overall Max and an increasing trend of more than 100MBs per hour

11)Greater than 25ms logical disk READ response times

12)Greater than 25ms physical disk WRITE response times

13)ASP.NET execution times are greater than 8 seconds

14)An increasing trend of more than 10MBs per hour in .NET CLR Memory

15)More than 10 ready threads are queued for each processor

16)More than 50 .NET CLR Exceptions Thrown / sec

I have already checked the below references to analyze the PAL reports.

SharePoint Help not available in other languages

Hello,

We have a SharePoint 2013 (fresh install on Server 2012) with german language pack installed.

Unfortunately, the online help feature (question mark in upper right corner) does not work. When clicking the question mark or when manually calling the URL with Lcid=1031 (which is german language ID), I only get a notification that the help is broken.

When I fiddle around with the help page URL (replace 1031 with 1033) I can see the english version of the help starting page.

Side note: we also have another SharePoint running, which was migrated from 2010 to 2013, and the latter one has a working german help file...

This is what works (but is not needed since not localized):
https://share.mydom.com/_Layouts/15/help.aspx?LCID=1033&Key=HelpHome&ShowNav=true

This is what doesn't work (but is wanted):
https://share.mydom.com/_Layouts/15/help.aspx?LCID=1031&Key=HelpHome&ShowNav=true

What can we do to make the default online help work in german, on the freshly installed SP2013 w/german language pack?

Thanks in Advance,

Kind regards,

Dennis Schulze

Can i remove all the pages in French site and do the variation again?

$

Hi Everyone,

We have created a site collection for our new intranet. We also want to have English and French languages for this site. First we created the VariationRoot.aspx on top and two sub sites for English and French. Because the Master page has been modified, the problem is the two subsites shared the same master page. Therefore we decided to create two site collections. One Site collection is English and one is French. Each one has it's own language Master page. My question is where I can set the variation label and VariationRoot.aspx? How will this work? And how the Term works? It smmes the term always deplay English even after I switched to french under French site.

We also have an authoring site to publishing the contents in pages. Because this site collection is only used by authorized people, we don't have the customized Master page on top. The English and French subsite have been created and the variationroot.aspx was created too. It worked before and somehow it's not working now. Can i just delete all pages in French site and run the timer job to hope it will be created again?

We are using SP 2013.

Thank you in advance!

Users have proper permissions but get "sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you"

Users get "sorry this site hasn't been shared with you", but they are definitely members of the site.  I just added a test user to the same group, ran IE as the test user, and was able to log in.  But all of the "real" users still get the error. I, as the administrator, can log in fine.  I made another user an owner and they still can't log in.

However, there is a subsite of the main site collection and the users CAN access that.  I'm at a loss!

Mysite - Skydrive : The user may not be able to access the item. The user may need to be granted access to the containing list or site.

Hi

I have a problem with the mysite skydrive. When users looking at the profile of a colleague and then go to the document of the person they receive a messag "Sorry, you don't have acces to this page".

The server has been created by scipt. have also created a new farm without scripts but then it works OOTB

I don't know where to search. On the farm I have already replaced the mysite and user profile. but it still doesn't work.

this occurs on dev, acc and prod.

for temporary I have created a Policy whicht grant's:

List permissions:

View Application Pages  -  View forms, views, and application pages. Enumerate lists.

Site Permissions

Open  -  Allows users to open a Web site, list, or folder in order to access items inside that container.

then it works but everyone get to much permissions...

Thank you in advance!!!

Office Web Apps only opens some file types

I have a Office Web Apps (WCA) 2013 UAT environment that is connected to my UAT SharePoint 2013 farm.  I can preview a lot of document types in Office Web Apps but other I get an error.  For example pptx gives me the error "Sorry, PowerPoint Web App ran into a problem opening this presentation. To view this presentation please open it in Microsoft PowerPoint".

All the excel file types work as does *.doc files.  *.docx files fail.

I can't find any logging information in my ULS or event viewer logs.

Background: The OS on all servers is Windows 2008 R2, the OWA/WCA farm uses allowHttp as I will be behind a hardware load balancer.  The issue is not to do with SSL or SSLoffload as most file types open.

The SPWOPIBinds look correct to me: Fails for the docx binding below

Application     : Word
Extension       : DOCX
ProgId          :
Action          : attend
IsDefaultAction : False
ServerName      : OWA-UAT.DEMO.LOCAL
WopiZone        : internal-http

 Works for this WOPIBinding

Application     : Word
Extension       : DOC
ProgId          :
Action          : interactivepreview
IsDefaultAction : False
ServerName      : OWA-UAT.DEMO.LOCAL
WopiZone        : internal-http

Any ideas?

Unable to Pair Workflow Manager 1.0 with SharePoint

$

I have an SharePoint 2013 server that is up and running. I have also installed Workflow Manager 1.0 following the steps on Microsoft's website. At a certain point the instructions have you test Workflow manager by IE to the server on port 12290 and if you get some XML content back it's working.  When I try that, I first get the prompt that there is a problem with the certificate.  I click "continue" and then get "The website has declined to display this page".  I've verified ports and things, and they are right.  I've tried to ignore this and just go on to pairing Workflow and SharePoint, but that just gives me "The root of the certificate chain is not a trusted certificate authority."  I generated the cert from my internal CA as per the Microsoft instructions.  That is, I opened up the Certificates snap-in (on the workflow server) and requested a certificate for the computer.

The Workflow server is a separate server, not part of the farm.
