Sharepoint 2013 Products Configuration Wizard Error : Failed to create sample data
I'm running the Sharepoint 2013 Products and Technology Configuration Wizard and its failing after step 7/8 giving me the following error:
One or more configuration settings failed.
Failed to create sample data.
An exception of type System.NullReferenceException was thrown. Additional exception information: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
And here is the detail in the event log,

SharePoint 2013, Getting Error: Access Denied when i try to access my portal web....

Iam getting Error: Access Denied when i try to access my portal web. See pic below:
I have deleted web application many times and try to setup again but without any luck.
I have setup SharePoint 2013 couple of times now, and i got this error first time, even Event viewer is not giving me any describable error message.
It is realy strange i feel, the user iam trying to access my Web with is site collection administrator, and should have administrator rigths, and my secondary admin is the farm user, and still iam not able to access the web site. Even i tried to put some other users as a site collection administrator but it dident help.
And this is happening when i create a Portal Web with HOST NAME: intranet.domain.no, and NOT when i create a Web application without host name, so my URL will be the machine name, then it is working like a charm...??!! SO my question is what is happening here and WHY, when i create web application with host name, why it wont work?
This is a Farm with Application server and WFE!

Sharepoint 2013 Problem - User Personal site is not creating
Hi All
we have a issue where personal page is not creating and nothing happen when we click on newsfeed, sites and Skydrive. All the configuration in User profile, My site are configured as given in the microsoft guide.
there is an error we found using uls viewer:

Profile picture not showing
Hi,
I had my users pictures in Active Directory. I did setup the profile sync and all the photos did show correctly.
However, I moved all pictures to our Exchange 2013, and followed the guide to create the server to server auth. Since then, the picture stopped showing, the picture on sharepoint is showing the link: http://SPC15/User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/User1_MThumb.jpg
When I try to go to that link, I get the error: Sorry, You don't have access to this page.
Any idea on how to fix this? Thank you.

I want to add Site Mailbox
Hi. I am trying to add Site Mailbox to my site, but when i try to enable the feature from Manage Site Features i get this error message:
Farm
The feature being activated is a Site scoped feature which has a dependency on a Farm scoped feature which has not been activated. Please activate the following feature before trying again: Site Mailboxes 3a11d8ef-641e-4c79-b4d9-be3b17f9607c
Any ideas as to how i can fix this? (I have exchange server setup and incoming/outgoing emails (to documents etc is working just fine..)

SharePoint 2013 blank central adminstration site
Hey all.
OurSharePoint installationdriving mecrazy. After some dependence issues during the installation process I was able to finish the installation and run through the configuration wizard without any problems.
Then I tried to access the central administration site. But the only thing I got was a blank site with the HTTP-response-status 200. I tried the hints from

SSRS 2012 & SharePoint 2013
Hey everyone,
I am at a loss, tried a bit of everything and still cannot get this to work on this particular customer. SharePoint 2013 and SSRS 2012, although I don't think the SP version matters here. What's happening is the webservice is getting provisioned like it should, but the actual file system structure is not:
I've tried the following:
- Removed rsSharePoint.msi / reinstalled
- Repaired SQL 2012 Shared Features
- Verified using the SP1 ver of rsSharePoint.msi
- Reprovisioned the SSRS service application
- Cussed a lot.

Can't open site in sharepoint designer 2013 after migration
Reticently i migrated my SharePoint 2007 Site to SharePoint 2010 and then i migrate that site to SharePoint 2013.i simply restore the content database to SharePoint 2010 and after that i restore SP 2010 DB to SP 2013.i can access site using a browser.problem is i can't open the site using SharePoint designer 2013.it gives following errors.

Issue in executing test-spcontentdatabase power shell command

Sharepoint 2013 Contact List
How do I remove the Last Name field from a sharepoint 2013 contact list.
It is populated from the Title field in an ITEM content type however it doesnt seem possible to remove this or change whether it is required. Also there doesnt appear to be any validation showing that it is a required field even when shown on the entry form?

When editting a list/library it complains about a manifest.xml file missing?
Hi all,
I've encountered a weird problem on a upgrades SharePoint site collection (from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013).
When I try to open a settings page for a list or library, it complains about a manifest.xml file missing.
Weirdest is, if you wait for a short while, refresh the page, it works. Then after a second refresh, it gives the error again (so it's an random event).
The event viewer on the server doesn't say anything, and the logs of SharePoint only state:
Exception in GetAllFeatureListTemplates: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException
but that doesn't give me enough info to get further.
Could someone help me with this? It gets very frustrating, not being able to change any thing to a list/library.

SP2013 User profile sync does not sync all users from AD!
Hi All,
I configured the SharePoint 2013 User profile sync, at the beginning used the "SharePoint Profile Synchronization" option. I only saw the number of user profiles is 30 in the UPS profile summary pane. In the AD (the spcific OU, I specified in the sync connection), there are more than 100 users.
then I changed the type from "SharePoint Profile Synchronization" to "SharePoint Active Directly Import" and re-configure the sync connection. (the service account is granted the"Replicating directory changes" permission.) after ran a full sync, no changes on the the number of user profiles (still 30).
In the Manage User Profile page, by search the domain name, I got those 30 user profiles list. I tried deleting one user profile. I saw the number of user profiles changed to 29. Then ran the full sync times, the number of user profiles is always 29.
Please advise, how do I get all those 100 users synced to SharePoint?!

Remove Blog, Apps and Tasks link from MySite
Is there a way to remove the Blog, Apps and Tasks link from all MySites in SharePoint 2013? Also I would like to rename the Newsfeed text on the left menu as well. I have found information on SharePoint 2010 but it did not apply to this version. Any help would be appreciated.

I backup live and can not restore on test or dev due to this error:

Document Store App still visible after remove of permissions
Hello,
Right now I'm testing the new Sharepoint 2013. So far I've experienced some weird behavior which isn't fixed by the updates from March and April which I both installed. Now to my problem.
When you create a new App "Document Library" in our main site (which is a team site and I haven't tested it on any other site type) and you stop the inheritation of permissions on this site, give permissions to someone, remove that again and start
inheriting the permissions from the main site again he still can view the document library. He can't see items in the Document Library but the link itself doesn't dissappear anymore. It's also still visible in the Site Contents Link.
Is this expected behavior? If not what could be the possible cause of this behavior?
