SharePoint Online - One Drive sync issues

Many of our users sync library/folders from SharePoint Online Libraries to One Drive. After making changes in One Drive, many complain that there is a delay in Saving. This means users make a change in a document in One Drive and have to wait for sometime before changes show up in the browser.

Some users also are complaining, "Need to find a way to sync more folders without slowing down the computer."

Is there a change we can make in the One Drive setting (blue icon)?

Appreciate any help?

SharePoint 2013 to SP2016 - Content db upgrade

I am upgrading the Content DB from SP2013 to 2016. In the SP 2016 environment I created a new WebApp using the same URL (including name, port, and host header) with the current production URL.  I created an alternate-access mapping to point to the new web server.

Example:

WebApp: http://old_url/

AAM: http://new_url/

Do I need to create an DNS mapping / alias to direct requests to point to the new URL?  Or does the AAM handle this?  Since the current production WebApp is using the old URL can it cause contention since the new environment is using the same URL?

Thanks,

Sean B

Copy/create multiple lists under one Sharepoint site

Hello,

I've been searching for an easy way to copying a current list and renaming it under a different title within one Sharepoint site. So far, all options provided to me do not work. Powershell commands do not work, Sharepoint Designer isn't allowed at our facility etc. etc. The site has also been 'published' and I've read that once published, you can't copy lists as templates.

For something seemingly as simple as this, I'm completely baffled at how difficult it is. At this point in time, my only option is to manually recreate the list which will take hours to do. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Migration and URLRewrite

We are doing an incremental migration, site by site.

My question is, can we rewrite/redirect a specific website to it's new location and what exactly would be the pattern

http://sp2007.com/Teams/mymovingsite/...

to

https://sp2013.mycompany.com/IT/mymovingsite/...

but not map if ends in "?migrated" so we can access if needed

SharePoint 2013 - Three level navigation

$

Hello All,

I’m new in SharePoint administration. I have created a PUBLISHING site in on-premises SharePoint 2013. Have got NAVIGATION link in site setting for the root level site. My Company have three(3) level menu, e.g.

(Level1) Department

                (Level2) IT

                               (Level3)Development

                               (Level3) Design

But when I open the NAVIGATION screen, I see “Structural Navigation: Editing and Sorting“ allow me to add HEADING in level 1 and add LINK in level 2, but I’m not able to add Level 3 menu.

I have set “Structural Navigation: Display the navigation items below the current site” on and “Maximum number of dynamic items to show within this level of navigation:” = 20 for “Global Navigation”

For “Current Navigation” too I have same setting, i.e. “Maximum number of dynamic items to show within this level of navigation:” is 20.

We have activated

SharePoint Server Publishing - Site feature and
SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure - Site Collection Feature.

No Luck.

After researching, have updated “MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels”=3” and “StaticDisplayLevels=3” in SEATTLE.master, complete code block below:

<!--SPM:<SharePoint:AspMenu

                        id="V4QuickLaunchMenu"

                        runat="server"

                        EnableViewState="false"

                        DataSourceId="QuickLaunchSiteMap"

                        UseSimpleRendering="true"

                        Orientation="Vertical"

                        StaticDisplayLevels="3"

                        AdjustForShowStartingNode="true"

                        MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels="3"

                        SkipLinkText=""

/>-->

Can anyone suggest how to show three level menu for my company site?

Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Thanks,

HTTP 403 Forbidden when using "Edit Page"

$

I have a Web Application with Host Name Site Collections underneath.  I am a Site Collection Administrator for each site.

I have another Web Application (Intranet) that is not a HNSC and I too am a Site Collection Administrator.

These Web Applications both sit under the same Application Pool.

For the HNSC, I am unable to Edit a Page in the browser (IE or Firefox) - I get an "HTTP 403 Forbidden" Error (see below).  I can browse any page file, can edit settings, permissions, etc.  The Intranet Web Application works fine and I can edit pages.

I'm a bit confused as to where to look to resolve this - SP permissions seem okay.  Also, it used to allow editing so something must have changed at some point...  Something in the IIS Site permissions?

You are receiving this e-mail message because you are an administrator of the following SharePoint Web site, which has exceeded the warning level for storage

I received this email last week "You are receiving this e-mail message because you are an administrator of the following SharePoint Web site, which has exceeded the warning level for storage" week ago and this is what was the state of site quota.

as Recommend by many folks i increased the storage limit to 1250000 and just ignore the email.

Now i have the current storage used as 125046 MB, where as the limit site storage to maximum is 125000 MB, and i am already seeing the performance issue.

1) whats the maximum limit i can go ?

2) i don't think just increasing the limit  solves the problem, what can i do to limit that growth ?

any help will be appreciated.

SharePoint Server 2013 Search Index reset stuck

Hi,

Our Search service in SharePoint 2013 farm isn’t  working properly. Sometimes it takes a very long time like more than 200 hours even to complete incremental crawl ( or sometimes hangs). So we planned to reset the index start full crawl.

Below are the steps that have been performed

1. Stop all the running crawling processes

2. Stop “SharePoint Timer Service”

3. Stop “SharePoint Search Host Controller”

4. Reset Search index

5. Start “SharePoint Timer Service”

6. Start “SharePoint Search Host Controller”

After completing the above steps search is no longer working across the Farm and Indexing is also not working

The SP2013 in new server works only without friendly urls, due to the friendly urls seem that they have dissapeared and the system does not recognized them.

Do you know ant way to transfer the friendly URLs to the new server?

Thanks in advanced!

Hello Everyone,

I noticed the SharePoint Group "name" properties doesn't display any names and display totally blank. I updated the CU security update in April 2019 and it use to show correctly until last month. All sudden the names show blank. Any idea what is changed or how to display correctly the names under a sharepoint groups?

Please note that if I add singe user directly without adding a group, it displays correctly. The name property shows blank only when I add users in a group(also existing users shows blank under 'name')

Will you please help?

Thanks

HI,

there is a problem accessing SharePoint from outside domain . we have configured valid IP and DNS for it. but users can't access it from outside domain.

only when users have "log into all computers" right, their credential is accepted and they can see the site.

what we can do in order to have "LOG INTO " policy  meanwhile solve the problem?
