Upgrade blocked in SP2013 Enterprise Farm

I have a SharePoint farm with two WFE servers, two backend servers and two SQL servers. I last installed CU's last year (July 2017).

I have gone to the servers in the farm this week to see that upgrades are required, but that the two WFE servers are blocked because the two backend servers are claiming that they require SP1 to be installed:

>  Update for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB3213569)
> 64-Bit Edition 15.0.4945.1000 Missing/Required
>
> Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 (KB2880552) 64-Bit
> Edition 15.0.4571.1502 Missing/Required

The thing is, I already installed SP1 in 2014 (I mean, I must have installed it, because you can't install any subsequent CU's with out it!)

My questions are:

 1. Why is it asking for something that's already been installed?
 2. Can I just reinstall SP1? What will happen if I reinstall it?
 3. If I can't, what are my options?

URGENT 'IM-House' user created automatically in AD associated recordscenter_xxxxxx

We noticed a
new user ID with tons of these contacts created automatically today on our
SharePoint 2013 - 2 WFE NLB production server. Any idea on this service account
or contact? I double checked IT and nobody has created these. The First Name
details listed as subsite title. The screenshot shows similar to the screen
below:<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Any idea on
what these recordcenter and user ID? Is it required? It was created on October
10th 2018 at 1pm. <o:p></o:p>

Just to give
you more background, we applied  Windows Server 2012 security
patches on WFE servers and Sept 2018 security SP security patches and Sept
2018 SP CU updates after testing in development. we didn't notice any
issues after successful completion. after after 2 days we noticed these new
user id association with recordcenter name association.<o:p></o:p>

We really
want to remove and block it if nothing related to SP.<o:p></o:p>

I really
appreciate any help on this.<o:p></o:p>

No SharePoint Properties Found - Affects Only Some Site Collections

This is a side branch from a problem previously posted under here.

As discussed in a previous forum discussion, the overall problem of No SharePoint Properties Found was finally resolved in the latest cu's pushed out September/October 2018 timeframes, and O365 updates of 1808 through 1810. 

However, our organization noted that some site collections in a specific web application continue to have this problem of "No SharePoint Properties Found" while other site collections within the same web application are now fixed. 

Let me restate the problem.  We open a word document from a specific site collection and when Word O365 is open, the dip panel will show the error below:

No SharePoint Properties Found

We're not sure what the problem is and here are steps we have taken to try and resolve this issue:

  • We have verified that lists have Settings | Content Types | ContentTypeName | Document Information Panel settings | Always show Document Information Panel on document open and initial save for this content type (checked).
  • We have validated that Require Use Remote Interfaces permissions and Enable Client Integration checked under the default zone.
  • We have deactivated individual Solutions in the Gallery.
  • We have examined and compared document templates in cts folder for content types.
  • We have refreshed all content types from the content hub.

Any other suggestions about for resolving this issue would be welcomed.

Can't able to open document from SharePoint Library

Hello All,

I have enabled SSO for SharePoint 2016 site using ADFS. We not able to open office document from SharePoint Library. We are facing below issue.

1. It ask for credentials


2. After inserting credentials, it can't open word document.

But I am able to open office document from UAT site. The issue is only with Production site.

Any help will be appreciable.

Hi, we need help ASAP.

We have a SharePoint 2016 setup and would like to configure security on it. Current structure is:

http://Rootweb/
http://Rootweb/Subsite
http://Rootweb/Subsite/Pages/Page.aspx

How do we configure security so that:

http://Rootweb/ <-- only one custom group from AD <CustomUserCroup> has access
http://Rootweb/Subsite<-- onlyone custom group from AD <CustomUserCroup> has access
http://Rootweb/Subsite/Pages/Page.aspx<-- group"All" has access

Server-Based integration issue with CRM and SharePoint using AD security group

Hi Guys,

Is this is a limitation of server-based integration of CRM and SharePoint?

It seems that the Server-Based SharePoint Integration doesn't like AD Security Group as users in this group cannot see the documents in CRM but when i add each each user to the SharePoint group it works!

I have done the following:

  • UserProfileService is running
  • User Profiles and Security Groups are getting synced
  • Set "Load User Profile" property to True of STS Application pool

And this is the error found in ULS  if i did not add the user to SharePoint group

SPSecurityTokenServiceManager!EnsureSharePointLogonRequestClaims: InputIdentity doesn't contain a PrimarySid claim.

Any help on this on how to resolve this? Any other workaround aside for adding users which is not an option for us.

Issue for Application page in layouts folder|| On premises server

Hi,

We did ESO MFA Configuration in our SharePoint On-Premise server and trying to access the Application page placed in_layouts folder but getting the “ 404 Page not found” error. We verified in layouts folder and page is exist. Before ESO configuration it was working fine.

Issue is occurring  when the application page accessing through the below Url.

https://hostname/_layouts/15/Applicationpage

But it is working when we try to access the page using the below link.

https://hostname/sites/sitecollection/_layouts/15/Applicationpage.

Please share your inputs.

'Open with Explorer' option missing from Ribbon

Hello -

I have a user here who has full control on a document library, however, when he goes to the Library tab, there is no option for Open with Explorer.  See image.   Not sure why this went missing all of a sudden.  Any ideas?  thanks.

Hi Al,

Document Approval OOTB work flow failing on start automatically "Workflow was canceled by System Account."

We are using SharePoint 2013 on  prem version, but on document library i selected "SharePoint 2010 Document Approval Workflow" which is available. But immediately after workflow triggered its failing.

I restarted SharePoint Timer service and "Work Flow" service from central admin.But still no luck.

Term Store Management: I need to modify a large number of items in the Managed Metadata store that are used for Global Navigation.

I can do this one-by-one in the browser, but there's loads to go through - is there a way that I can do this using PowerShell?

Troubleshooting SP2013 and Office Web App

Can someone point me in the right directions?

A running Office web app got certificate renewed because SP 2013 was giving the preview message "Content block due to invalid certificate"   

Removed the binding on SP2013

recreated the binding: 

New-SPWOPIBinding-ServerName"Server.corp.Contoso.com"

Wopizone are set to Internal-https

But now it displays in the preview that https://Server.corp.Contoso.com can't be reached 

There are DNS record etc. etc. 

What's missing?

SharePoint 2013 user migration from old domain to new domain - List view assigned are impacted

Hello All,

Recently, we starting migrating the users from DOMAINA\account to DOMAINB\account using the following power shell script

Move-SPUser -Identity $IdUser -NewAlias $NewUserID -IgnoreSID -confirm:$false

We don't see any challenges with user permissions (or) security. But, there was an issue noticed at List level as there are certain list items which are assigned to user with old identity/ Display Name which are NOT visible in the custom view with rule as Created By field is equal to "[Me]". however, user is able to see ONLY new items created and able to see those list items in custom view. 

User profile user property has the migrated account and verified all the fields 

How to make visible the old items in the same custom view? Please advice

Incremental & Full search are running before the schedule

I am working on a sharepoint farm 2013 on-premises enterprise edition. and i am facing a problem that my incremental & full crawl is not running on the schdule.
  • I have a single search service:-

  • and i define the search to run each 10 minutes starting from 00:00. so it should run @ 11:00, 11:10, 11:20 .. etc, as follow:-

but the problem is that the incremental crawl is running on time @ 11:05 ,11:15, 11:25 etc as follow:-

and when the incremental crawl correct time is met, nothing will run,but the above "next incremental crawl" time will be updated only. also i define to run the full crawl dally @ 2:00 am but at 1:55 the full crawl will start.

I try to stop the timer job and clear the cache folder. also i tried to do IIS reset and also restart the search services. but nothing is able to fix this problem.. i am not sure why i have a feeling that there are 2 search services running in a way or another; one is performing the actual search (before the schedule) while the second service is only updating the "next Incremental/Full crawl" date/time... can anyone help me in fixing this issue?

AppFabric Caching Service on on of our Web Front End Servers is down, Also Search service keeps getting disabled

As the title describes, the "AppFabric Caching Service" won't start on one of our front end servers.  Something else also seems to be stopping our "SharePoint Search Service 15" to stop and get disabled. I think they are correlating but not sure... Any ideas?  Trying to tread lightly as this is a production environment.

upgrade 2010 workflow to 2013

Hi,

I have SharePoint 2010 workflows which are using NGC custom activity to call another workflow. Now i have to upgrade to 2013 and than 2016.

I have upgraded SP 2010 site into SP 2013. After upgrade open Workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013 i am not getting "Coordination actions in SharePoint Designer 2013". 

if i create SharePoint 2013 than its available, if i create new SP 2010 workflow than i am not getting coordination action.

please guide how can i upgrade workflow or call another workflow or enable coordination action.
