Hello Friends,
We had an outage here that broke a lot of our servers including the SharePoint web servers and as you would expect, this affected all our workflows.
We have rebuilt these servers and joined them back to the farm but we need to re-publish the workflows.
The issue now is we can’t find the workflows files. We also have a full backup of the old WFEs. Could you please point us in the right direction here as to restoring and redeploying the workflow to the new WFEs?
My question is in order to properly recover from this completely, how do we proceed with redeploying the workflows? Any help with this will be highly appreciated
Thanks
Hi
We have got a working UPS.
This Hidden user list really does not make sence to me...
I think if I know when a user's details get added to the list it might help?
The UPS has got all the details and is up to date.
The user list for some site collections is up 2 date.
Thanks
Hello,
I have configured app management using the following link: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp161236.aspx
However there is no detail on how to bind the ssl cert to your apps. I currently have one web application and I'm using host named site collections, therefore the bindings in the IIS site are https 443, no host header and a wildcard cert attached (for my SharePoint sites).
I have created a forward lookup zone in DNS with a wildcard CNAME pointing to my WFE. Does anyone know how to bind the new wildcard cert I have created for my app domain as I have no corresponding Web App or IIS to bind it too and haven't seen any instruction to create a web app for the purpose of app management.
Thanks in advance
I have a SharePoint 2013 Farm that is having a strange problem. The farm recently crashed. Upon reviewing the logs I found the following error:
Log Name: Application Source: Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint Foundation Date: 5/20/2016 3:56:16 PM Event ID: 5617 Task Category: Topology Level: Error Keywords: User: contoso\SharePoint-install Computer: SharePoint-WebFrontEnd.contoso.com Description: There is a compatibility range mismatch between the Web server and database "", and connections to the data have been blocked to due to this incompatibility. This can happen when a content database has not been upgraded to be within the compatibility range of the Web server, or if the database has been upgraded to a higher level than the web server. The Web server and the database must be upgraded to the same version and build level to return to compatibility range.
The error is strange because the database is not specified. We found that running the following SQL query would reveal that the install account wrote to the versions table and put version 14.0.4763.1000 which happens to be SharePoint 2010 RTM version number.
SELECT [VersionId] ,[Version] ,[Id] ,[UserName] ,[TimeStamp] ,[FinalizeTimeStamp] ,[Mode] ,[ModeStack] ,[Updates] ,[Notes] FROM [SharePoint_Config].[dbo].[Versions] WHERE VersionId = "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" ORDER BY Id DESC
Restoring the SharePoint_Config database fixes the problem. However, every time I try to open SharePoint PowerShell the same thing happens and I get the same "Compatibility Range Mismatch" error. We realized that making the Install account a sysAdmin on the database server fixed the error. We can't leave the install account as sysAdmin so I am looking for another solution.
I do not see anything specific in the logs that indicates what's happening to cause an issue when I open a SharePoint Power Shell window.
Any Ideas?
I need to rename our domain from abc to xyz.
What do I need to do to so my Sharepoint server is still operational after the transition
Thanks
Hello guru's,
I seem to have a very strange problem with some SharePoint 2010 workflows on SharePoint 2013 (Approval - SharePoint 2010 is the template name). This is a standard out of the box approval workflow with no customizations to the InfoPath form or anything like that.
For some reason users could not complete their tasks if it is after the due date. They could go through the motions (open task, click approve) but then the status would say at 'Not Started' or 'In Progress' instead of going to completed.
To try and resolve this I tried changing the workflow so that it doesn't automatically suggest a number or days for tasks to be completed, so it doesn't set a due date by default. Now it appears that users have one day to complete the task. If they try after the one day then again the task status will not change.
It does not seem to be permissions related because the users that cannot get their tasks to complete are able to approve other tasks that are within the timeframe. On workflows that have the problem I also see "WorkflowName failed to run" logged in the workflow history on the payload item.
I have looked through ULS logs a bit, but I'm not sure that is helping me much either. I have seen these messages a few times but I'm not sure if they are related.

Hello,
I tried a Nintex Forms trial a while back and I thought I had deleted everything from that trial but in my ULS Logs it keeps showing up. How do I get completely rid of this? I went to the location of where it's trying to search for the xml document but it isn't there. There's a ton more of uls logs ranging from medium level to high.

Hello,
At first I was using MySites as a site collection but then earlier yesterday I wanted to move it to where it was under a Web Application and I was in the middle of changing it over and it just bugged out on me. It wouldn't let me save it as well as started to show me what was in the picture. I looked in the ULS Viewer for the Correlation ID that is associated with the Correlation ID that is in the Picture and what I've copied and pasted was what was shown. I'm not very knowldgable with understanding ULS Logs because I'm pretty new to SharePoint so any help is greatly appreciated!!! This happens when I click on Setup My Site I also did a Ninex trial for a week and thought it wasn't worth the time and money so I deleted the program from my server, I also deleted the database that was associated with it along with the site feature in CA so I'm not sure why it continues to show up.

Good morning,
I've encountered an interesting issue when attempting to patch our farm recently. During the configuration step errors are generated in the logs for three site collections. All are of the nature:
PSCONFIG (0x1D24)0x0CD4SharePoint Foundation UpgradeSPFeatureDefinitionaj2bjERRORFeature upgrade action 'AddContentTypeField' threw an exception upgrading Feature 'CTypes' (Id: 15/'695b6570-a48b-4a8e-8ea5-26ea7fc1d162') in Site '<https://base site URL>': <nativehr>0x80070002</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>There is no Web named "</name here>"
Has anyone else encountered similar during patches, and if so was there a resolution?
For SharePoint Online, my company wants to manage external users in a separate Azure AD domain but still use ADFS for our internal users. Is that even possible? If so, can someone provide guidance on how to do this? I've been beating my head against a wall for most of the day trying to figure this out.
Thanks.
Hi
We are busy testing upgrades on SP and not sure if the old bug was resolved.Do i need to add stop Search? Might stop these anyway: (SPTimerV4, OSearch15, SPSearchHostController)
What we are doing:
Run SP1 Binaries,
Run CU March 2016 Binaries
Restart
Leave like this till Next evening to avoid downtime
Run PSConfig on App Server
PSConfig WFE1
PSConfig WFE2
Hi,
I have a document which has unique permissions set (I gave myself contribute access to it). I do not have access anywhere else on the site. Now I try accessing the document library; I get access denied - understandably so. So I gave myself read permission on the doc lib; and then tried accessing the document - I get credentials pop up. If I provide credentials, I keep getting it again n again. If I discard it (close the pop up) I get the file opened, but in 'Read Only' mode.
Why is this happening?
****UPDATE****
If I grant even read access on Site level; I am able to edit the file. This should not be dependent on site permissions as the file as unique permissions set and I have contribute access on it.
**************We got the message: "Some file can harm your
computer. If the file information below looks suspicious…" when the site
is in the Local Intranet zone in IE11.
We have SharePoint 2013 with Office Web Apps
configured to open in the Client Application by default. There is no option to
move it the Trusted Sites in IE, neither disable the SharePoint OpenDocument
Class since we need to open it in the client application.
The right click open in a new tab seems to be the best
solution, but if anyone knows an easier way to resolve this issue, please help.

I have 2 lists that are connected via a lookup column. I saved both as templates with content. When I uploaded these lists to my new site, the lookup column in list 1 is empty. Is there a way to keep the connection when saving them as template to upload to another site
Getting following error while doing visual upgrade from SharePoint 2010 site to SharePoint 2013 site,

Hi everybody,
I have installed Sharepoint Server 2013 Standard with my MSDN key in waitting the SharePoint 2013 Server Standard key provided by my company.
Now i have the new key but i don't replace the existing key. If i don't apply the new key for the product, so the product is not legal to use.
