My problem is:
The Create Upgrade Evaluation Site Collections job does not send a Notification Email when the Eval Site is created. I only get a notification E-Mail that mention that a Upgrade Evaluation Site Colletion is requested and then after 27 Days that the Evla Site will be deleted in three Days.
My Enviroment:
SharePoint Foundation 2013 Sp1 on Windows Server 2012
Exchange 2010 SP3

In our current farm setup we have enterprise features, including Excel services enabled. At this time however, not all users are in the groups allowed to utilize enterprise features. This causes an issue when the unauthorized users attempt to open an Excel document as it gives the user an access denied message for the particular feature (Excel services).
Is there a setting or mechanism that will allow the opening of an Excel file to fall-through to Office Web Apps for non-enterprise users?
Hi, using SharePoint 2013 latest build (as time of writing)... We have a document library with version control enabled, and draft item security set as "Only users who can approve items (and the author of the item)".
UserA is a Contributor
UserB has Full Control.
UserA uploads/created a document in the library - can see it etc and it is at 0.1 version - all good.
UserB reviews the document and approves/publishes it - version 1.0 available and both UserA and UserB can see it - all good.
UserB realizes they made a mistake to publish it so chooses the option to 'Unpublish this version'.
UserA is still the author but is no longer is able to see the document? And that's the issue we have. It looks like the bit in brackets of 'and the author of the item' isnt actually doing what it should, or am I being really silly here?

I took over working on an application using SharePoint where forms were created in web parts. The application has had a peculiar problem for the longest time that I/we can't understand what is happening. We navigate to the page with the web part form and begin filling it out. If you take more than a couple of minutes to fill out the form, any Postback event will refresh the page and clear the form. I have tried reading articles regarding timeouts but there are so many timeout variables in different web.config, we are unsure which one is the correct one to change.
What would cause a SharePoint page to refresh itself on Postback after just a couple of minutes? I'm pretty sure its not a request timeout and don't think it could be a session time out since we are not using session state. Any thoughts or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Our SP2013 environment consist of 2XWFE & 1XAPP Server. We had a requirement to publish some of the SharePoint sites externally for company users to access remotely and opted to implement an ADFS 3.0 server together with Web Application Proxy server to achieve this.
The SharePoint sites that had to be published were extended as an external zone using a FQDN (eg.Intranet.domain.com) and further configured to use windows authentication and ADFS as the trusted identity provider. The external zone was also configured to use the _trust at the end of the FQDN eg. https://Intranet.domain.com/_trust
Remote users get directed to our ADFS login page when entering the externally published site and go through the process of Multi Factor Authentication using their NTLM credentials eg. DOMAIN\%Username% and then redirected to the SharePoint site but before it opens the page it prompts the user with another Windows Authentication window which they have to re-enter the credentials before it allows access.
I have done a fair amount of research and troubleshooting with suggestions I found on forums. Many indicating allowing pass through authentication on the ADFS server and allowing the _trust which has also been done. I have not found anything 100% useful in the SP ULS logs to point me in the right direction neither.
Has anyone else perhaps had a similar scenario and have some advise ?

I have a problem to access data source item on a Business Intelligence site. Every time than I've tried to access I've go unexpected error.
Here's my scenario:
1. Web Application migrated from SharePoint 2010.
2. Web Application still in Classic Mode authentication (particularly because one legacy windows services which consult this webappl).
3. The farm consist of two front-end web/application servers and one database server.
4. PerformancePoint use TargetApplication stored in Secure Store Service.
5. PerformancePoint Service Application is associated to WebApplication and proxy is in Default group.
What I founded:
1. ULS logs report the following message: "Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Scorecards.BpmException: The requested SharePoint site does not exist or you do not have access to it." The same message is showed on Application Log.
What I tried:
1. Recreate PerformancePoint Service.
2. Reassign access to Unattended account, application pool account for the PerformancePoint service and WebApplication though $webapp.GrantAccessToProcessIdentity().
3. Stop and Start PerformancePoint and Secure Store Service instance on both servers.
If someone have any idea of what is causing this problem, please let me know.

I can not delete an existing Token Issuer using below command. Even though Get-SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer ”SAML" displays all the related information. Here is the error.
Remove-SPTrustedServiceTokenIssuer "SAML"
Remove-SPTrustedServiceTokenIssuer : A valid object could not be read from the provided pipebind parameter.

Hey SharePoint Fam,
I have broken my test environment somehow after trying to add WSUS on both servers and continue to get http 500 errors for both sharepoint sites and central admin. Not sure where i went wrong and the event log is not throwing any errors at all, but was wondering if I could just totally uninstall IIS on both web/app servers and then just connect IIS back to SharePoint somehow? I have some critical sites/lists that I don't want to lose otherwise Id just start from scratch and rebuild environment. SQL server is fine and I'm pretty sure it's IIS somehwere that's broken.

I found a bookmark in my browser that was point to a page on my SharePoint 2013 environment (with Project Server 2013) like this http//dev/PWA/TheApp I want to delete this site, but couldn't find it on the Site contents of http//dev/PWA/. So I thought "Maybe it's an App?..." (because Apps are not supposed to appear on the Site Contents). So I went to Central Administration App Catalogue, but as it turns out, the site http//dev/, doesn't even have an App Catalogue... So I thought "Maybe it's a Web part?..." so I went to the Site Settings -> Solutions, but there are no web parts there.
After opening SharePoint Designer and looking into "All files" I saw a folder name TheApp with a aspc file inside it, but the deete button is greyed out and if I click the aspx file I get the warning below:
But looking at SharePoint Designer permissions for the http//dev/ site, this is what's configured:
So... It's not an App, it's not a Web part, and I can't delete it with SP Designer... What is it and how can I delete it?
NB: sorry for any error in understanding the problem but I'm still learning my way around this technology.

I'm have an announcement list, that has a custom date column. Users should be able to create items and put a date in this column in the future time. All users should have an active alert to this list in any shaping.
When an item is created, the alert should be send, when the date is reached, because it should not been published before.
I can create a view to do this, but alerts will be send immediately. I tried check in and out and the approval state, but nothing helps. The alert comes up every time the item was changed.
So is there a solution to delay these mails e.g. with a workflow.
Any idea?

We are going to upgrade from SharePoint 2010 with MS SQL 2008 R2 to SharePoint 2013 SP1 with MS SQL Server 2012.
We have created sharepoint farm and upgrading services application from SP 2010 to SP 2013, We have restored Secure Store Service backup from MS SQL Server 2008 R2 to MS SQL Server 2012. Secure Store Service has been created using the restored Database.Following error occurred when we insert the phrase,
an error occurred during the "Refresh Key" process. Please make sure that you entered the pass phrase that was used to generate the key and try again.
The same phrase is working fine in SharePoint 2010 environment.

Hi All,
In my present sharepoint farm what we do is create a web app and restore a previously saved backup of a site to the new one, this is usually done using the powershell site collection back\restore method. And later on the new site is customized by the developers.
Recently i had to copy a site in my production environment to my development , and this time i took the database base backup of my production site from the DB server and restored it to the development instance . After that I attached this DB to my site on development farm. But when i load my dev site its not the exact site as my production site instead what i get is the template site which i used to create my production site earlier. My present production site is highly customized and totally different from the template. I am used performing database backup\restore's on my farms and no before I had come across such a case.
Also the new site that I get on my dev farm is in site collection locked state.
what can be the problem. I am supposed to get the exact copy of a site when i do a DB backup\restore but the restored site am getting is the template that i used to create the site that I took the backup from.
We have added new front end servers to the existing farm. PS config ran successfully and there was no error in the log. Also we can access the sites from the new server.
Later we noticed that, few of the custom timer jobs are failing and error message pointing to the DLL files. Compared the DLL file and found the size difference; new server has less size. Once we copied the DLL from existing server to new servers, the job starts running successfully.
All the existing server has same version and file size is same. Any idea, how the old version of DLL came to the new server? How can we make sure all the components are in sync with existing servers?

I want to check the Reporting Service Service Application System Setting Properties in Databases and not from central Admin.
Can anyone help me to find which databases shall I check. I am seeing an issue that when I try to browse the System Setting for Reporting Services in Central Admin we get an error. I found from logs that somehow the requested is redirected to servers in a farm where we have not setup Reporting Services.
Please support here and thanks for your help in advance.

My SharePoint WFE server is called SP201301. The site has an AAM set up to allow users to access via this URL: http://sharepoint.
When I FOLLOW any sites, it lists them with server name.
For example, http://sharepoint/projects would show as http://sp201301/projects
Where can I correct this setting?

Currently we have a simple SharePoint deployment and the default web application is configured to use ADFS as an authentication provider. We also added LDAPCP from codeplex to resolve names.
But when we try to give access to the site with group (In people picker it said : (Role) testadfs, it's a security group in AD), users in that group keep getting access denied
On the ADFS box I have enabled verbose and in the claim I can see the group's name :
