I am just wondering about something;
Do i need to manually delete/remove my; service applications/ Webapplications/serviceapplicationpools/proxy before I uninstall SharePoint 2013 completely?
I plan to do a clean install afterwards. I will manually remove the databases i have in SQL Server management studio.

Studying the AdminService log trying to resolve Service Application Installation issues, I am finding errors regarding adding my specialized Doman\Users to groups, i.e.
1/4/2013 8:19:17 PM TagId=1768514420 Pid=512 ThrdId=10 Level=High Category=msoulscat_WSS_Topology -- DOMAIN\WSS_Search cannot be added to the group IIS_IUSRS. This may be because SharePoint is being installed on a domain controller which does not allow some account types to be added to domain groups. Administrators and Network Service will be explicitly granted access to all SharePoint resources on the local system. You may need to manually grant other accounts the same access.
What account types can't be added?
I manually added the accounts to the groups, but the installer continues to try to install them. Why?
Are these issues the possible cause of installation failure; I really don't see much else in the log?

I just installed the "Secure Store Service" service application, but the Secure Store Service is starting and the Secure Store Service Application Proxy is stopped. The service application page says I need to start the proxy. How? There is no start button. The Secure Store Service itself is running.

I'm configuring Excel Services in SharePoint 2013, and I'm trying to determine which type of SSAS 2012 instances work for the Data Model configuration in Excel Services. I'm wanting to have Excel 2013 documents that are connected to multiple tables (thus use the data model) work in SharePoint.
I have it working when I configure the Excel Services Data Model to use a PowerPivot instance (ie SERVER\POWERPIVOT). This linkhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219780.aspx seems to imply that you could use other types of SSAS instances, as long as they're SQL 2012 SP1.
At the end of the day what I'm really trying to figure out is....does this need to be a PowerPivot instance (ie. you need to have SQL Enterprise) or will this work with non PowerPivot instances (Multidimensional? Tabular?)

I am receiving the following error:
Error 1335.The cabinet file 'STS.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
I am installing on a Win 2008 R2 VM running VMware ESX5. I have mounted the img file via vmware console, internally using powerISO, burned image to DVD, and run from host. All with the same results. I have also downloaded the image for a second time hoping this was really a damaged file. No Success.

Basically the question is: what do I replace our ISA 2006 with?
We are upgrading from ISA 2006 in front of SharePoint 2007. We have a combined intranet/extranet, all users are in our AD. Users on the corporate network go directly to the webserver via windows authentication. Users outside the network or working from home go though the ISA server via a form. (the main purpose of the form is to tell people what to do, who to contact if things go wrong, etc. The local users are already logged in via their PCs so they don't need this).
We are upgrading to SharePoint 2013. They want to keep a form for the external users. SharePoint 2013 and our SQL 2012 is all running on Server 2012.
At first I thought I could use FBA authenticating against AD, but I've read it's the wrong approach and will cause problems for Office 2013, and that we should go the ISA route again.
It seems like TMG is going away, and I certainly want to get off ISA 2006. Would you recommend UAG? I've read it's not the best for this purpose especially with the 2013 applications coming out. The firewall will mostly be for our intra/extranet, and not used for other systems, though we MIGHT host Office Web Apps, we don't currently but are thinking about it for our extranet users. We have a completely separate firewall so the firewall aspects are not really as important as being able to have a form based login that also will allow the users to seamlessly use Office and SharePoint 2013 together.

I have loaded Sharepoint 2013 Foundation in a test environment. I am interested in the Project Site template but do not see that as an option and I cannot figure out how to load the template to make it available. Is it only available in the "Server" edition? Where can I find a list of site templates available in "Foundatons"?

I'm a bit stuck on a little problem:'/
Im setting up the search service via Powershell (SharePoint 2013 Standard, 1 App server + 1 sql server).
I'm getting a Warning: Extra Parameter ignored: 'SearchApplication'. I dont see why...And if that wasnt bad enough I have a problem synchronizing the Topology, as it tells me that it isnt activated..
Anyone seen this before?

I have a publishing site that is using Kerbos authentication. Everything on the site works fine.
I created a simple workflow in SPD 2013 and published this to the site without any problems. However when I try to start the workflow with the account of a user who is a member of the site it will not run. In the browser an alert pop's up saying "Something went wrong. To try again, reload the page and then start the workflow again".
In the SharePoint log's I find the following:

This is a dev environment where everthing is setup on a single box, and I registered the workflow service in HTTP mode (which I allowed during the installation of workflow manager).
Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I have one confusion...
I have created one site using SSL on Port 5556. Now it is on Default Zone & working fine on local network using
https://zyspnlb:5556/vip/
Now,
Team wants to make that available on internet. So, instead of extend
the site can I update the Host Header directly on IIS on the same
configuration settings with Live URL ?
I mean in IIS Basic Setting we have port, http/https & host header setting. if I keep
5556 port as it is, https as it is and in blank of host header if I write
www.vip.mycompany.com
(which is live url) will it work externally using
http://vip.mycompany.com:5556/vip/
Secondly I would like to know is it possible to use without 5556 even though its working on that port ?

Hi everyone,
i am trying to import a site collection to another server. In the first step i exported the site succesfully. When i import it , i get an error which is called "A duplicate field name "61cbb965-1e04-4273-b658-eedaa662f48d" was found". I found the filed name with GUID ID in the error information above. It is "Target Audiences" besides it is system content field.
I tried to change it's name etc.. But when i change it, it changes in everywhere. I don't understand why this problem occured.
Could you please help me about this issue?

In sharepoint 2010 only those users, who has access to list, can see the reference to the list in Quick Launch.
It seems that in In sharepoint 2013 all users can see the reference to the list in Quick Launch,
but not all see content of list (list items ).
Is it any way to make it's behavior similar to sharepoint 2010 ?

I can edit user profiles e.g. uploading a photo and chnaging the About me field etc. but the main area of the screen says 'While we set things up, feel free to change your photo, adjust your personal settings, and fill in information about yourself.' then:

Hi everyone,
Maybe a silly question but is there any news on the language packs for SharePoint 2013 Enterprise 2013 RTM?
The only language packs I can find, are the ones that are for Foundation 2013 -http://www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/download/details.aspx?id=35492 (and we're using the Enterprise version).
We're specifically interested in the Dutch language pack, because we need it for migrating from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.
Hopefully someone can answer this question, thanks in advanced!

This issue is killing me and I'm quite lost now, I've run procmon and I can't see any file level denies, I'm watching the developer console on IE and keep seeing POST's to /_vti_bin/client.svc/ProcessQuery return a 401, I've seen the same thing using Kerberos, Claims, Forms, NTLM.
Navigating http://intranet.pf/_vti_bin/client.svc just throws up authentication prompts and rejects my login until a 401.
Beyond lost, would anyone have a helpful hint?
