Hi expert,
I have two Sharepoint 2013 on premise farms (Prod & PreProd).
I have the same issue on both farms and try to figure out what could be wrong or what could I do to obtain the result I want.
When I export the excel "Report usage", result is avalaible for many dates except the last 24hours. I mean, we are the 14th August 2014 day, I can not see a result for the 13th August day but everything is ok for all others days.
Much better with a snapshot.
I have verified the two timer jobs:
- Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation Usage Data Import
- Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation Usage Data Processing
They run well first, first every 5minutes and second on time per day.
I just want to know if this is a normal functionning regarding the data avalaibility for this report or should I modifiy some stuffs.
Thanks for your help.
Hello Everyone,
My problem is:
The Create Upgrade Evaluation Site Collections job does not send a Notification Email when the Eval Site is created. I only get a notification E-Mail that mention that a Upgrade Evaluation Site Colletion is requested and then after 27 Days that the Evla Site will be deleted in three Days.
My Enviroment:
SharePoint Foundation 2013 Sp1 on Windows Server 2012
Exchange 2010 SP3
I hope someone can help.

Hello,
Ee have a bunch of scanned documents saved as tiff. How can I show them? Web app server won't preview them and this is a real big issue.
On the other hand, websio does the job, but I wouldn't like to have websio and web app server coexist.
Is there anoter solution? I'm conmortable for a web part put in viewitem.aspx that shows the tiff file underneath the metadaa.

Hi Friends,
I'm planning a direct migration from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013. All of our existing SharePoint 2007 projects are in VS 2008. After the SharePoint migration (Probably 2007->2010 & then 2010 ->2013), Do I need to do the following?
1. Upgrade the VS 2008 projects to VS 2012?
2. Copy the custom contents(control templates, dlls. etc) to SharePoint 2013 farm generated by VS 2012?
Thanks,
Dilip
First, how do we verify that KB2880963 has been installed? It does not show up in the hot fix list after installing it. Here is the official link where we downloaded it from: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2880963/en-us and installed it.
Second, do we need to install this patch on all app servers? There is no documentation explaining this. We installed the patch on the WFE, but we have the workflow farm running on one mid-tier app server. Do we have to install KB2880963 on all app servers?
Our workflows stopped working after applying post-SP1 patches on our on-premise SharePoint 2013 farm - big problem in production; error is described here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a78a40f3-14b5-4fa2-963c-c0ec55ae7c2e/sharepoint-server-sp1-installation-error-related-to-workflow?forum=sharepointadmin.
Thanks.

We are migrating from SP 2010 to SP 2013. We have SP 2013 plus SP1 installed
If a list view has a BCS column, when the BCS value is clicked, instead of going to the entity's properties page, it gets the error:
"Sorry, something went wrong"
The passed in identifier is not properly encoded.
However, if I drop down the context menu next to the BCS value and choose "View Profile", it works.
Any clues on fixes for this?

I understand how a planned/unplanned failover to the secondary replica within the Primary data centre would work. Users are still accessing the Primary farm but the farm is looking at a new Primary (sync)
What I don't understand is how this works if the Primary data centre (SP farm) goes down. Users then will be coming in through the DR SharePoint farm. I've read articles (see link) about how this works using log shipping - stopping the shipping and mounting the content DBs to SharePoint empty web apps etc.
But we are not using log shipping - we are using AOAGs - so my question is how do I present the secondary replica in the DR farm (async) to the DR SharePoint farm? Does it happen automatically? Do I have to do some configuration? etc
Many Thanks if you can help or point me to something

Hello,
I have been tasked to implement cross site publishing using a document library on the authoring site. The publishing site must be able to use faceted navigation derived from columns from the authoring site. Eventually, the publishing site will be used as an extranet partner site and must be able to be cloned for more partners.
Has anyone done this type of thing? I am not able to get the faceted navigation to work and I have followed the following blog to guide me through this. The blog is meant for a list, but I have been trying to adapt it to work with a library.

Thank you.
Hello,
I want to create a page that looks exactly like what you find when you get to this pop-up:
1. Edit a page.
2. Click the insert tab.
3. Click on Link.
4. Choose From SharePoint.
The pop-up that appears is exactly what I want to use for a page. Would anybody be able to help me out with this one? If possible, I would also like to be able to edit the left hand structure.
Thank you.

I just installed and setup SP, I authorized 5 users. When I open http:192.168.16.x (x= SP server IP), I get presented with the logon window. I enter credentials and the get 401 -UnAuthorized
I checked firewall settings form Amil Avula's SharePoint blog and made sure they were activated.
The error log says cannot contact spadminV4. I checked in services and it is "Manual". I started it but still get 401 Unauthorized. Also turned on appfrabiccaching service.
What do I need to configure to get access to the HomeSite?

Hi all, thanks for any help with this. We found an issue with our SharePoint 2013 farm and I'm hoping someone can tell me if this is expected behavior or not.
First some background, our company sells several products and marketing wants different sites for each product ie. www.companyname.com, www.thingy1.com, www.thingy2.com, etc. In SharePoint we have been creating a separate web application for each domain.
We found that both bringing up the new web application dialog box and the overall creation time got slower and slower as we added more web applications. Here are some tests we did on a fresh system.
Test3 2 minutes: 40 seconds to create web application
Test4 2:58
Test5 3:20
Test6 3:40
Test7 3:58
Test8 4:25
Test9 4:56
Test10 5:38
Test11 6:15
Test12 lost track of time :)
At this point I increased memory from 12 to 20 GB
Test13 7:40
The reason I started testing this is that we have lab farm with 18 web applications and it takes about 35 minutes to create a new web application. So, is this expected in a system? If so, is there a best practice to architect web applications other than this basic we we have been doing it?
Thanks for any help on this issue

Hi,
I have SP 2013 installation. I need to get User Profile and User Profile Synchronization services up and running.
Just the thought of these two services makes me extremely unhappy due to the fact that they are VERY DIFFICULT to setup and configure.
My concerns with the Huge long articles by the great Spence Harbar are as follows:
- They are some years old.
- Also, He (Spence Harbar) has argued that using the UI is not recommended.
- Also, I have to provision the service as a Farm account, yet it is STRONGLY not recommended to logon as Farm Account.
Has the situation with these two services gotten any better really? Has anyone came up with updated and consolidated approach for setup and configure the services painlessly? Any new detailed and consistent blog posts with script for provisioning these services?
I would greatly and sincerely appreciate your inputs on this subject ! Please, Help me out !
PS: Using the direct import AD is not an option at all, that's why I must use the upper 2 services.
Hello,
I would like to ask about the possibility of an automated deployment between a local (development) SharePoint, a test server and a productive server. Is there such a tool or do I have to do all customizations and installations separately on each of the systems?
Thank you very much for your hints.
Regards,
Radek
Hi,
I have installed language pack on my server and also run the configuration wizard but still language settings are not appearing in site settings.
I checked all the answers related to this issue and did all the tasks shown in answers but, still no result.
can any body please help me.
Every time I try to connect to any SharePoint site running on my customer server I get the following error.
An error occurred accessing your Microsoft SharePoint Foundation site files. Authors - if authoring against a Web server, please contact the Webmaster for this server's Web site. WebMasters - please see the server's application event log for more details.
I already checked the sharepoint options in CA and in every site in the mentioned server. Everything seens correct but the error persists.
It looks like there is no direct relation to SharePoint and something else in the server but I was not able to determine what could cause such behaviour.
Hope someone here has something to say.
Thanks in advance.
