I have recovered the SP content files from a SP2010 site and manually upgraded them to the SP2013 DB schemas using the PowerShell. I also created a new site in SP2013 to re-host them. I then replaced the new sites primary content DB with the primary content DB of the lost site.

How do I create the mapping to the primary site collection without jeopardizing it; creating a new site collection doesn't seem like what I want to do? Currently the sites URL's are "\" and "sites\users", the later created as I added "User Profiles" to stabilize the server and the ForeFront services.

Is there a table that I can manually insert a row into that is used to list a site's URL's?

A totally different approach?

As I write this, in the related topics above, the topic "Migrating SP2010 WSS CONTENT with CLASSIC auth to SP2013 CLAIMS auth fails when logging into web site" is visible but has no answer. This may also be a issue as the situation may also be present. Is there a process for dealing with this issue if it appears?

We have a mid-size SharePoint 2013 farm with two web servers (load balanced), one app server and a DB Server. I have setup team site with SSL. Alternate Access mapping (intranet zone) are specified to use SSL/HTTPS with FQDN. eg:https://Intranet.Contoso.com

Now, default home page is loading without images and webparts when we try accessing the above url from outside firewall/Extranet. Also, many links are broken (throwing 404 error).. What could be wrong here?

Do I need to setup a public url from Extranet? How can I have the same FQDN (https://Intranet.controso.com) assigned as intranet and extranet public url?

Based on my understanding of the Migration path, SharePoint 2007 needs to be first migrated to 2010 and then upgraded to SharePoint 2013. Many of the blogs recommend the approach of using SharePoint 2010 120-Day trial version for performing the upgrade - is this a legal procedure?

Is it necessary to obtain a SharePoint 2010 license for migration to 2013?

While trying to install the SharePoint 2013 on my vm-player, I got this error in Spanish (while I was installing in English)

I tried to disconect and connect the CD drive from the VM learned from this article:

But it did't helt, I tried to copy the installation to a local folder but it has to be on CD it says.

Moving data from SharePoint 2010 / Project Server 2010 / SQL Server 2008 R2 -to- SharePoint 2013 / Project Server 2013 / SQL Server 2012 and absolutely CANNOT find anything regarding this missing assembly.

I have tried to install the SQL Server 2008 R2 Analysis Management Objects (SQLSERVER2008_ASAMO10_amd64.msi) on all three of my SQL Servers and re-run the check, but I get the same results.

Please help, I am very stuck and have looked everywhere... :(

I have a freshly-created SharePoint 2013 environment (a farm of four Windows 2012 servers, using SQL Server 2012).  This farm has a web application on port 80 with a site at the root: http://hostname/.  There is also a DNS alias and alternate access mapping for this webapplication, so it can be accessed as http://c3

The web application seems to work OK with either the hostname or the AAM name.  But if try to use Site settings (on any of several sites) via the AAM name, I can access the site settings menu (http://c3/sites/sitename/_layouts/15/settings.aspx) but when I click on any of the links in this menu (e.g. http://c3/sites/sitename/_layouts/15/people.aspx ) it fails with the message below.  Using the hostname (http://hostname/sites/sitename/_layouts/15/people.aspx) works just fine.

I am trying to set up a SharePoint 2013 site to use a custom claims provider and to define custom claims types like I had on the 2010 version. I used a PowerShell script similar to the following before, with success.

Do the same assemblies get put in \windows\assembly as with SharePoint 2010?

Such as Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration and Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration.resources ?

I am checking my SharePoint 2013 Application Server which has PowerPivot installed, and the Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration assemblies are not inside of \windows\assembly

I took a backup of my SharePoint 2010 database so I can migrate it to SharePoint 2013, when I ran the test content cmdlet in PowerShell, it is saying that there is a reference to assemblies in the database which are not found in the SharePoint 2013 environment.

The assembly being referenced is:

"Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral"

From other post I was told that what was missing from my 2013 Farm are the "Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Analysis Management Objects". So, I downloaded them, installed them on each SharePoint server (only two of them) and iisreset on both boxes.

Re-ran the test, and it still says the assembly being referenced in the database are missing from the SharePoint 2013 Farm.

I really would appreciate a Microsoft pro to guide me through this, I have exhausted internet searches and dozens of forum pages/blog pages and nothing has become of this problem.

We are currently setting up a SharePoint 2013 farm with multiple site collections using kerberos authentication and different host headers.  I am trying to find information on how to "share" the authentication between the multiple site collections.  Right now for each site, a user must log in.

How can we configure our site collections so that the user does not have to log in each time?

Just tried to upgrade Sharepoitnt 2010 to Sharepoint 2013.
Everything went fine, just trouble with this:

Had to make a new user profile service application, could no start User Profile Synchronization Service,
after attaching the 3 databases: profileDB, socialDB and syncDB

Never mind, no problem creating a new service. I works fine now

My problem is now MYsite.

1. Did an upgrade on the contentdatabase for MYsite.
2. Did an upgrade on the sitecollection for every MYsite using: get-spsite -contentdatabase XXXXX -limit all | upgrade-spsite -versionupgrade
No problem in doing this.

My problem is now, when i try to acces the MYsite for a user, i get this error:Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you.

I have an installation of SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with Windows Azure Workflow Manager 1.0 on a single machine to test new features of SharePoint 2013 Workflows. 

SharePoint Server outgoing email settings are configured properly and working. If I invite a user to a site, the email is sent with the respective settings. Same if I want to send an email via a SP2010 Workflow from this server. 

Now if I start a SP 2013 Workflow which is using the Azure Workflow Server and want to sent a email, it fails and the mail is dropped to the badmail folder. 

If I look into the mail file in the badmail folder, the from address is workflow@noreply and not the from address out of the SharePoint outgoing email settings. 

Where can i change this settings?
