It seems some features are "grayed" out, like using "open with file explorer" in Library toolbar.
Does anyone experience issues with SharePoint 2013 and latest Firefox version?
Sharepoint 2013 Workflows start but do not progress.
I'm working out all the bugs in the SharePoint 2013 environment. Right now I'm trying to get a SP 2013 Workflow to actually work.
I'm trying the simplest thing I can. Just go to the end of the workflow.
I've got one stage. In transition I have GOTO "End of Workflow".
When I start the workflow it creates the page as if it is running but stays stuck under "Running Workflows". It does not log anything if I attempt to write a log.
I've tried this on both a new and updated (from 2010) site. Neither work. SP10 workflows work fine.

Hi,
When I select a document template to upload new document in a sharepoint 2013 document library, the excel begins to load the template. However, before finishing the load, Excel crashes and I have this error displayed.

Sharepoint Foundation 2013 Installation fails to provision Central Admin web app
Hello, I'm attempting to install SPF 2013 as a standalone instance on Windows Server 2012, and all goes fine until step 7/10 of the config wizard, when I get the below error:

SharePoint 2013 - PerformancePoint - Kerberos
Hiya,
I am simply unable to get Per-User identity to work. This is not my first BI installation, but the only one where I am stuck.
I have configured Kerberos constrained delegation around and verified the following:
1: In the security log of the application server I logon to the web application using Kerberos.
2: I can logon to the Analysis services and view cubes from Excel 2010 using Kerberos.
3: I can use "klist get" and retrieve a Kerberos ticket on the Analysis Services SPN.
4: Claims to Windows token service is running under domain account and all permissions has been granted as well as similar delegations as to the PerformancePoint service account.
My problem is; When I enter a datasource in the dashboard designer, it states user does not have access. In the application event log, it states that the user, does not have access to the datasource. Using SQL Profiler I can see that it is hitting the Analysis Services as Anonymous User. My conclusion is the delegation for the PerformancePoint account is not working.
The Performance Point service account is currently delegated against the MSOLAPSvc.3 service on the Analysis Services server, against the MSSQLSvc service against the database services server and against the HTTP service on the SP application server.
This is a very large organization, however we waited over a night to ensure it wasn't a "waiting for replication" issue.
I have tried this multiple times before, without issues. I did a double check following the referenced guide:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=23176
Any ideas what I could be missing or what I can test further?

Scenarios to test in disaster recovery in SharePoint 2010/2013
Hi All - I have a SharePoint 2013 on Windows Server 2012. We had SP 2010 and we just migrated to 2013. I am planing on Disaster Recovery. I prepared the scripts to take the regular backup of entire the web application and individual site collections. Also, Database Backup. SQL Server 2008 R2 is on server different than Front end and application server. There is only one farm. DC is on a different server. Any custom file is on Visual Source safe. I need to know what could be possible scenario to perform disaster recovery test?

MySites Permissions not allowing editing of own profile
Any ideas what's going on here and how to fix it? Apparently users only have read-only permissions but I need to grant them control specifically on their own site but don't know how to do that without going into each and every site and doing it manually.
Claims to Windows Token Server Error Starting
I was going through our farm and checking that the correct services were started on the correct servers and noticed that on one of the WFEs the Claims to Windows Token Service was stopped. I attempted to start the service and after a minute the "Starting" status changed to "Error Starting". I went to the Even View on the server and the error said "An attempt to start/stop instance of service Clames to windows Token Service on server did not succeed. Re-run the action via UI or command line on the specified server. Additional information is below." And below it said "Illegal Characters in Path". After trying again several times and still recieving the same error, I searched online but couldn't find any related articles. I also turned on Verbose logging and grabbed the ULS log for the error: "Error executing service instance (un)provisioning job. Service instance: "Claims to windows token service" "Illegal Characters in Path."" Also, "System.argumentException: Illegal characters in path. at System.IO.Path.GetFileName(String Path) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String Path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize) at System.Xml.XmlUrlResolver.GetEntity(Uri absoluteURi, String role, Type ofObjectToReturn)..."
I have been unable to solve the issue or get the service to start. I have already rebooted the server as well with the problem still persisting.
Any Ideas or help?
Deleted Users Status in SharePoint Farm
What happens to users' objects as their profiles are being deleted from SharePoint 2013? We are replacing the default profile and MySite removal timers with custom scripts in a fairly new deployment.
In other words, say a user contributed to list items as an author. Do they still show up as users and authors of the respective items? Is their name clickable? I can't readily experiment with this.
Also, do users need to be removed from all webs as well as all particular objects where a user has unique permissions, such as a list item?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

load balance smtp drop queue on multiple front ends
hello. thanks for the time.
the other day we setup 2 SharePoint 2013 WFE with SMTP services to receive incoming mail. and they both are...however the problem is that FE1 takes in about 75% of the emails in the drop folder while FE2 takes the remaining 25%. Any way this can be done 50/50?
Also we have a public folder that forwards emails to a document library about every second...so we are getting backed up in the queue. is it possible to have a dedicated Drop folder on a network share? we tried to add a network share but the Front End IIS virtual SMTP service does not allow a network location...looks like it must be local to the server and I am guessing it would have to be a member of farm. weird thing is we didn't see the issue in SP2010 ... it was able to handle the load on 2 front end servers.
thanks again for the time and effort.
Popularity Trends Report - Zero Hits and Zero Unique Users
Asyncronous Updates resulting in a list cannot be displayed error
I have a live helpdesk application which was previously running on SP 2010 where the lists periodically update (60 sec) using the standard web part AJAX controls. In the SP2013 solution this same set of controls results in an error.
Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.
This error has some suggested solutions in the public forums on SP2010 most of which seem to center around the refresh timeout rate which was set to 1 second. there was a cumulative update for SP2010 to allow access to the timeout variable and be able to adjust this value up to a more reasonable value, but so far I have been unable to locate this in SP2013.
Any help, suggestions or advice would be more than welcome.
thank you in advance.
Workflows involving email not working after reboot
Following a reboot of the sql server and sharepoint servers on Friday, workflows which involve sending an email fail. They start with this detail:
Retrying last request. Next attempt scheduled in less than one minute. Details of last request: HTTP InternalServerError to http://sp.zelle.com/sites/ZelPoint/_vti_bin/client.svc/sp.utilities.utility.SendEmail Correlation Id: aac7df38-aa5d-4ae1-aabc-bc5541f9b8e2
Instance Id: 8ecd608c-aea0-4bca-8c25-221111144f22
Eventually, the workflow is canceled with this error:

Details: System.ApplicationException: HTTP 500 {"Transfer-Encoding":["chunked"],"X-SharePointHealthScore":["0"],"SPClientServiceRequestDuration":["94"],"SPRequestGuid":["bcc3c429-f040-482a-b78f-66dddde31fec"],"request-id":["bcc3c429-f040-482a-b78f-66dddde31fec"],"X-FRAME-OPTIONS":["SAMEORIGIN"],"X-Content-Type-Options":["nosniff"],"X-MS-InvokeApp":["1; RequireReadOnly"],"MicrosoftSharePointTeamServices":["15.0.0.4569"],"Cache-Control":["max-age=0, private"],"Date":["Mon, 04 Aug 2014 14:45:37 GMT"],"X-AspNet-Version":["4.0.30319"],"X-Powered-By":["ASP.NET"]} at Microsoft.Activities.Hosting.Runtime.Subroutine.SubroutineChild.Execute(CodeActivityContext context) at System.Activities.CodeActivity.InternalExecute(ActivityInstance instance, ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager) at System.Activities.Runtime.ActivityExecutor.ExecuteActivityWorkItem.ExecuteBody(ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager, Location resultLocation)
I checked the ULS logs and found some errors such as these:
Reached maximum number of failed machines based on ping results for this routing group
Unavailable machines based on ping results: SP2013VM1 (that's my sp server)
Proxy response returned error: 'The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.'
I am not at all sure what to do. I tried rebooting the entire farm and that didn't work. These workflows were definitely working prior to the reboot last week.
SharePoint 2013 – Client asking fro user name and password
Regards’ of client : Windows 8.1 + IE 12 or Windows 7 + IE 8.
I have Enabled Kerberos authentication and basic authentication. I use only HTTPS.
If i add SharePoint site in to local intranet zone, i logon without prompting user name and password.
If i logon wit computer that is not domain joined i get prompt for user name and password. I did put SharePoint site to local intranet zone and i did put remember user name and password.
There is no way, that non domain joint computer can logon to SharePoint site without prompt in picture.
Would Form Based authentication solved my problem ?
SharePoint Server Publishing infrastructure - Sorry, you don't have access to this page
If I enable site feature on Any site in any site collection on Sharepoint farm, every one get lock out (include Farm admin, ect) with error Sorry, you don't have access to this page.
I have to go to Web application -> User Policies Add: NT Authority\Authenticated Users, so that I can log in to site, disable feature and everything start to work.
On : Site Collection Administration -> Site Collection Features -> SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure : is activated
Infrastructure : I use Host name site collection, all effected sites are located in the same web application.
I think problem is with “SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure”. Because if I enable that feature on site collection, then o have problem choosing together SharePoint Server Standard Site Collection features and SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection features
If SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure is enabled, if a activate Standard Site Collection features , then choosing Server Enterprise Site Collection features, produce error : Sorry, something went wrong.
But I can enabled both features “Standard Site & Server Enterprise” before enabling SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure.
ULS logs, when I enable SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure :
-
From bottom up : Non-OAuth request. IsAuthenticated=True, UserIdentityName=0#.w|DOMAIN\user1, ClaimsCount=55

UI Upgrade from SharePoint 2010 to 2013
Hello,
I've a huge sharePoint content database. This Content database was migrated to SharePoint 2010 approx. 2 years ago.
Now I'm trying to migrate this database to SharePoint 2013.
I executed Test-SPContentDatabase, Mount-SPContentDatabase and the database attached successfully to the new SharePoint 2013 farm. All the migrated content is available and all custom Features are working as expected.
But the UI-Upgrade process is producing over 9.000 Errors. A lot of them are:

Drag & drop not working with IE10 & sharepoint 2013
Greetings,
I have a real issue happening since yesterday and I cannot figure out how to resolve it. I installed the last update for SharePoint Server 2013 (KB2881003, KB2881077, KB2863826, KB2863837) and since then, the drag & drop functionnality does not work in any WebPart Pages in IE10. It's working well with Firefox and Chrome... Sometimes it's working in IE10 when I refresh the page...
I really don't know what can I check to make this working correcty, so please if you have any idea just let me know.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Mike
