Error with FIMSynchronizationService: Event 6309

Hello,

I have scheduled a full synchronization at 1:00 AM for the user profiles and every time the job runs, 4 of these same errors happen.  User profiles seem to be imported successful, and all of the services and components are running OK. I wonder if new or updated profiles are being imported based upon this error.

Not sure what this error means.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated?

SharePoint 2013 and Outlook 2013 Sync error

Hello

I have a SharePoint 2013 (latest service pack 1), Office 2013 and Exchange 2010 environment. I have created a Contacts list in SharePoint 2013, I then click the List tab and click the 'Connect to Outlook' option. It then pops up with 2 boxes and I click OK on both. This creates a contacts list in my People tab under Outlook 2013.

When I try to drag a user from my main contacts list to this new list I get an error like in the image below. Is there anything else I need to do to get this to work?

I've also noticed the 'Connect to Outlook' option is greyed out for some users. Is this a permissions issue?

Image may be NSFW.

Vignette to SharePoint 2013 migration

HI

We have a requirement to migrate an internal portal for one of our client from Vignette to SharePoint 2013. We are looking out for manual and automated process to migrate but most of the popular tools that we saw does not migrate to SharePoint 2013 for example DocAve, Protenq etc. Also there is no document available that provides the details about the migration scope as to what components of Vignette will be migrated with the help of tool and what will not.

Any guidance would be highly appreciated.

Custom Web Template fails, List does not exist

Can somebody help me with this?
After I patched the SharePoint 2013 SP 1 to the April 2014 CU I've been getting this error.

Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAppStateQueryJobDefinition failed 3 times in a row

Hi, we have had the following critical error come up on our (SP Server 2013) application server :

“Fast revocation part of the Execute method of the app upgrade/killbit timer job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAppStateQueryJobDefinition failed 3 times in a row. This failure requires on-call engineer attention from both SharePoint and SharePoint Store teams.” (Task Category is App Deployment)

This was followed immediately by the following critical error:

“The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAppStateQueryJobDefinition (ID 881a2c17-39e5-4e86-89c5-f7e7289ca448) threw an exception. More information is included below.

Sorry, we can't seem to connect to the SharePoint Store. Try again in a bit.” (Task Category is Timer)

I'm not seeing anything in the Central Admin Health Analyzer issues that relate to this - also appears to be the first time is has happened.

I have had a look online but can’t seem to find anything similar.

Access Services Not Working Correctly

I have deployed Access Services and kept to the correct steps accurately according to the Microsoft whitepaper on deploying it.

When I create a new Access app, this is the way it looks in a browser when I go into it:

As you can see, it looks quite terrible. If anyone can please help me with where to start, I would appreciate it. I did go through the white paper and make sure I followed all the steps.

I have an existing Sharepoint 2013 environment, now I want to add one more App server into the existing farm, but when I am going to connect the same it is giving an error "Failed to connect to the existing Server farm located at the specified database server and database name. The database name is not a valid configuration database".

For further information:

Metadata filtering at list level still problematic after SP1

Hello

The Excel on the SP1 fixes "Microsoft Office and SharePoint 2013 Service Pack 1 changes"

mentions the problem:
"Metadata filtering at list level always lists all metadata terms"
as fixed. However, I have installed Service Pack 1
on an existing Farm and the problem is still there.

In the filter drop down users still see instead of a list of terms currently assigned to the list items the entire term hierarchy.

Is it true that SP 1 has fixed the issue?
Are there any additional steps required to fix it. e.g. recreating the Managed Metadata Service?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards
Joh

SharePoint 2013 - Entry for user with "Limited Access" permission

Hi

Just to want know if the same behavior still apply for "Limited Access" for differrent version of SharePoint (2007, 2010 and 2013).

if there is any different in SharePoint 2013, can someone advice and explain the different.

I am using SharePoint 2013 and when I grant user TestA access to a unique permission library (un-inherited ) and if user TestA does not have access to the site, he will be provided limited access automatically by SharePoint so that user can access the document library and view documents to which he has permissions.  But when I check permission settings at the site level,  I don't see an entry for TestA with "LIMITED Access".

Does this no longer hold true any more with SharePoint 2013.

I am not sure if this is a bug something else I need to setup in order to see user TESTA entry with "Limited Access"

Thanks in advance for any insight or comments

SharePoint Label using font settings of when document was created

Hi, i Have had a issue and now know the cause...now i need a solution.

Using SharePoint labels to add the Document ID to the document footer with quick parts.

The font settings under the label settings as screenshot below does not get applied. i Have played around a but and it looks to me like it automatically takes the default font settings of the document when the document was created.

My second problem it is grayed out in word and you can change the font and the size.

This is a issue for the client...Any idea's how we can get around this?

Thanks

Installing remote SharePoint 2013 on own cloud using SharePoint databases on premises

Hi All,

We have a SQL cluster on premises and we are thinking about deploying SharePoint 2013 in our own cloud (cloud servers are at 60km from our SQL servers). The idea is to keep our SQL cluster on premises because it's used for other applications and also to not have to pay new licenses.

Is it possible to install SharePoint 2013 on our own cloud with its SharePoint databases in our SQL cluster on premises? Or do we need to keep SharePoint 2013 and the SQL used by it on the same location?

Many thanks,

Fred

Link to SharePoint List with Metadata Columns from Access 2013

I have a sharepoint list with a few columns and two of those columns use managed metadata. I can connect from access to the list fine, but the columns that use metadata add some additional numbers and characters (number, Semicolon and Hash) when displayed in Access and the columns are also disabled for editing. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?

Is it  possible to use managed metadata columns with Access?

Building a prototype in Sharepoint 2013

I would like to build a simple prototype in Sharepoint 2013. I spent 8 huors now trying to create a site template in a site collection residing in a web application. Almost everything I do fails. Sharepoint takes orever creating web applications, it takes forever creating site collections, it refuses to crating pages stating that there is other pages with the same name, it refises to delete those copies, but states they are deleted.

I would suggest that Microsoft takes a time out and try to figure out how to define a minimum level on bugs and 'errormessages'. It's inhuman to not let users create a simple web page within a day.
