Issue in MySite 403 forbidden after enabling publishing Infrastructure

Hi Team,

I am getting 403 forbidden on MySite Host after enabling SharePoint Server publishing Infrastructure on my SharePoint MySite Webapp in Site collection feature.

as soon as I deactivate this feature in the farm, Mysite is up and running. Please assist.

I tried activation and deactivation couple of times and results remains as below

Feature Activated- Site not working. Giving 403 Access Forbidden

feature Deactivated- Site working.

Feature Name:"SharePoint Server publishing Infrastructure"

Reinstalling SharePoint 2013

I have errors on installation of SharePoint 2013 and I think it would be easier to just reinstall SharePoint.  What is the best way to do it?  My DB is on a separate server.

Unexpected problem about activation of site feed

When I try to activate site feed for a site in sharepoint 2013 POC setup I got unexpected error. Hours of seach ended with no usable result.

Logs show the following related info. 

03/20/2014 20:21:35.61 w3wp.exe (0x14EC)                      0x239CSharePoint Foundation         General                      8ncaMedium  Application error when access /_layouts/15/ManageFeatures.aspx, Error=SiteFeedFeatureReceiver: can only be enabled on the same farm where MySites are deployed.  

From that clue I found out that mysite deployment is a prerequisite but the error page does not give a hint about it.

After creating a site to deploy my sites activation went smooth.

Sharepoint 2013 is a big ocean to get lost. It has a lot of pitfalls. 

Some keyword that I searched during the quest are: (These are irrelevant with the problem though)

"Feature Activation: Threw an exception, attempting to roll back.  Feature 'SiteFeed' "

"Attemping to add or update webpart id 58CB0433-A07E-41B7-B269-EB450C86F799, list <not specified>, "

"Failed to add the ghosted document with 0x80070050"

"Not enough information to determine a list for module "Newsfeed". Assuming no list for this module."

Edit Links missing from site collection

I no longer have the ability to choose the "Edit Links" option on the site collection. I have seen the CSS to take it away. I do not have that in my CSS.

SharePoint 2013: SharePoint Apps & 403 Forbidden

Hello,

i have configured App Management in SharePoint and it seems to work properly on the first sight.

I can browse the store, add apps from the store to my site and they show up correctly.
So the inital configuration seems to be correct.

However if i try to configure the apps (for example the "Corporate News App" or "My Faq List") and click on a listitem or try to add new items (add news or faq items) i get a 403 - Forbidden message.

Have anybody seen this?

Can we have more than 1 memebrship provider in STS token service

Hi,

My farm is already using membership provider in STS token of sharepoint to query novell edirectory.

Now i need to query an external domain with no trust to sharepoint domain. Can i have more than one membership provider in STS token ? 

 Also i don't understand what we are passing here in 

connectionUsername="cn=usrname,ou=Sharepoint,ou=Applications,ou=,ou=,o="

and 

userContainer="OU=people,O=".

Can someone please explain?

Missing Server Side Dependencies Error.

Do I need to worry about this error and how can I resolve it step by step?

Is this one of the default errors after installing SharePoint?

It was a fresh install of SharePoint 2013 and SQL 2012 and a couple web applications were created then deleted so not to sure if this caused the error.

When 2012 R2 is released will SharePoint 2013 be able to run on it? i've seen there are issues with Preview currently....my server admins would rather build machines in r2 for long term but asked my preference.

Performance Issue while loading the files

Hi,

I am developing a SharePoint app for customer. Our customer has offices in several countries. All the local offices in each country are connected by using a Wide area network (WAN).

Users can store large data files in SharePoint libraries. The user is reporting that files load very slowly.

So just want to ensure that the files are cached the first time that the files are opened at local office.

Below is the Windows power shell command that is being used.

Get-SpSite(“http://abc.com”)| ForEach{

$spWeb = $_.OpenWeb();

Line 2 : $spWeb.CacheAllSchema = $true;

$spWeb.Update();

Now here i am bit confused i.e.

Even I can execute below line if I am not wrong

Line 2 : $spWeb.EnableBranchCacheHasGeneration= $true;

Please share your ideas/thoughts on the same.

Unable to export data from Web Access Data Sheet in Sharepoint to local excel or access file

Greetings and good morning.

I'm going to start off in broad terms with this question because I'm not 100 percent sure what information to provide.

Long story short, we've got a Web Access Data Sheet list hosted in a Sharepoint 2010 environment. It is accessed and used by multiple people throughout the day. It contains several thousand line item entries. I'd call it a large data sheet.

I think the size of the data sheet is casuign some instability in the list. I'd like to be able to export a defined range of data from the list into a local excel or access file. After that, I'd delete the stuff on the Access list to improve performance.

But...when I attempt to use the Sharepoint Action bar to export - Excel locks up/crashes. If I try to export to Access, I get a similar issue.

Any ideas? Could anyone begin by telling me what other information is required?

Sharepoint 2013 not installed yet, so should I install Sharepointg Integrated mode on my SQL server right now?

I'm installing SQL 2008 R2 onto a Windows 2008 R2 server in preperation for a Sharepoint 2013 install.

In the midst of the SQL installation here I have the option of installing the Sharepoint Mode Default Configuration.

Should I do this or should I continue installing with native mode dafeult configuration. Then perhaps adding the Sharepoint integration afterwards.

What would you advise?

External Users Logging into SharePoint Online

Some of my users are having an issue where they can access the SharePoint site using the invitation they recieved but they cannot bookmark the site and login using the link to the site in their favorites.  Is this a browser issue?

Error attempting to Installa Sharepoint app "Sorry, this app is not supported on your server"

Hello,

After deployng the technet procedure to configure Sharepoint 2013 for Apps (http://technet.microsoft.com/it-it/library/fp161236(v=office.15).aspx), I receive the following message when browsing App store and attempting to installa new app.

"Sorry, this app is not supported on your server"

Every app have the same message.

Any Idea? Can you help me?

User Profile Synchronisation Service not Starting

Hi all,

I know this is a topic that has been covered a number of times here and on the web but I cannot seem to find an answer to get mine to start. 

So, this is a new SP 2013 build one WFE/Application Server and a DB Server.  I had set up the UPSA and had it started.  No problems.  Then from my recollection, the following two things occurred:-

  • SP1 for SharePoint was installed
  • Farm Admin account was changed

So, after SP1 was installed, I was then unable to access the UPSA.  It was from here that I have tried the following many times over and in no particular order:-

  • Deleted and readded the Service Application and Proxy;
  • Restarted the server;
  • Run psconfig;
  • IIS Reset;
  • The Farm Account is a member of the local admin group for the purpose of starting the service;
  • Stopped and restarted the SharePoint Timer Service;
  • FIM Services are both set to run as the Farm Account (same as Timer Service);
  • Deleted all the files from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config\[GUID] folder except for Cache.ini file from the GUID folder and reset to 1;

This is one of the log events that appears to pop up regularly when trying to Start:-

Failure retrieving application ID for User Profile Application Proxy 'User Profile Service App': Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfileApplicationNotAvailableException: UserProfileApplicationNotAvailableException_Logging :: UserProfileApplicationProxy.ApplicationProperties ProfilePropertyCache does not have 3fb1994c-eedf-4394-a1c2-e74b0790dc0b     at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.UserProfileApplicationProxy.get_ApplicationProperties()     at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.UserProfileApplicationProxy.get_AppID()

More than happy to provide more logs if need be.  Its been two days trying fix this and its getting fairly frustrating now....

User Profile Sync Issue

Is it possible to import a single user profile (or profile information) from the AD to SharePoint 2013, perhaps using a Powershell cmdlet?

We recently ran into an issue where a user account was successfully created in AD, but we encountered an error in SharePoint while attempting to create list alerts for account due to its not having a "valid e-mail address".  We verified that all information was correct and valid in the AD, as well as the information displayed for the user in SharePoint, to no avail.

In researching the issue I found that it may have been possible that the e-mail address was entered into the AD after the profile has synchronized with SharePoint, so we removed the user profile from SharePoint in the hopes that once another Full Synch completed that the user profile would be re-imported.  This does not appear to be the case, and I'm having trouble getting any of the SP timed job to run on command (Run now).

So at the moment we are simply looking for a way to ensure that the user's profile is re-imported to the SharePoint server, either through the next anticipated synchronization (if that will work) or by importing the single user.  Any help would be appreciated!

SharePoint 2010 SP2 Sync Framework Service Pack 1

Hi,

I have Sharepoint 2010 Service Pack 2 + October CU. I'm wondering if it would be safe to upgrade Microsoft Sync Framework to SP1? In our scans by Qualsys Vunerability scan our SharePoint server comes up as needing to upgrade Sync Framework to SP1. Any thoughts if upgrading this would cause the issue?

Unable to complete configuration of Integrated SP1 installation

So I'm trying to install SharePoint 2013 SP1 (integrated build from MSDN) on a clean 2012 R2 server (latest patches applied).  I consistently fail at the same step in the post-install configuration process: Step 5 of 10, timeout during service registration after document conversion service is registered.

Anyone have any ideas here?

Error with Set-SPSiteUrl

When trying to setup multiple zones with Host Name Site Collections I get the following error when calling Set-SPSiteUrl...  "Set-SPSiteUrl  :  Only available when routing mode is HostHeaderSiteBasedMultiUrl".   I also get the same error when trying to run Get-SPSiteURL.  Where and how is the routing mode configured?  Thanks!
