Upgrading to SharePoint 2013 wth Sharegate
Anyone used Sharegate to migrate from 2010 to 2013?
If so, when coping a site/subsite I'm going throught the steps to migrate, but not everything copies over (ie. non-custom webparts are missing and large number of items don't get copied into the migrated list.....is this normal?
In the steps to copy I do see where an item error requires an change or choice selection due to column adds or changes to existing fields, seems crazy to have to go through each item that doesn't match up. Can this be excluded and just copy as is?
Thank you

Access denied: Security Store Credentials
I created a target application in secure store services to be used by BCS. I have two regular domain accountsapptest1 and apptest2. They both have same permission levels for the site collection, site and lists. None of these accounts are included in the target application and all authorized users have permission to the external content type. Apptest1 was able to open my custom form with dropdowns that populated from BCS. However,apptest2 got the following error when the form is open:
Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.NeedSsoCredentialsException:
http://qasp-wfe01:80/_layouts/SecureStoreSetCredentials.aspx?TargetAppId=resourcelookup
I would appreciate if someone can tell me what other permission(s) apptest2 may miss. Many thanks.

Sharepoint Search Crawl for Local Sites is only finding one item
I have the default Content Source 'Local SharePoint sites' configured to crawl everything under the hostname for each start address. The only start address is the root URL I have configured to access SharePoint, the same URL that is working perfectly for browsing all the sites, http://sharepoint.XXX.com.
The full crawl finishes in about two minutes. The Crawl Log reports 1 success, 0 warnings, and 0 errors.
Using the Search Center site to search for ContentSource:"Local SharePoint Sites"returns a single result, the home page of the site collection. It doesn't seem to be crawling into the sub-sites or document libraries. I have links on the Home.aspx to every sub-site and in those sites there are links to every library.
I made the search service account a site collection administrator.
I tried to add sub-sites to the Content Source, such as http://sharepoint.XXX.com/Management, but it gives me an error saying it can't add it when crawling the entire web application. This makes sense.
I just can't figure out why my default crawl is not getting any errors, and actually finding the Home.aspx, but not anything deeper. Any ideas on what to check next?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
EDIT:
It might be worth noting that I have two other Content Sources that are working.
One starting at sps3://sharepoint.XXX.com that has 33 Successes, 0 Warnings, and 0 Errors. It is showing everyone that has logged into the SharePoint site in People in the Search Center.
The other on is a File Shares type with two shares listed to start from. This has 112,000 Successes and is showing the files in the search results in the Search Center.

SharePoint 2013 Extranet set up
1. I have SharePoint, AD, DNS in the perimeter network (DMZ)
2. SQL server inside the Corporate network
During installation all the ports were open and successfully set up the SharePoint environment with ADFS.
Now I want to close the all the ports that are not necessary, So followed this link
http://sharepoint.solutionsforlifeco.com/?p=120 to set up the inbound and out bound rules for 2013
Now I cannot access the web app what was accessible before setting up the rules, event viewer log says that the SQL server instance is not accessible though the port was opened two ways.
I'm not able to ping the ADFS and SQL servers from my App server.
Are there any other set up configurations has to be done?
Any troubleshooting techniques greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

psconfig running excessively long
I’m trying to add the March CU to my SharePoint 2013 farm. After the bits are installed I'm trying to run the config wizard but the final step (9 of 10) runs excessively long. I left it running on VM for 6 days before killing it. It doesn’t error out but it appears the thread priority of the process keeps getting bumped down (see log entries below). I’ve stopped some of the services (timer, search and host controller) but doesn’t seem to help.
Any ideas?

SSL Certificate to apply on more web application - SharePoint 2013
Hi,
based on your experiences, I'd like to know which SSL certificates are good in order to apply them for more web applications in a SharePoint 2013 farm. Saying a good SSL certificate I intend a SSL certificate not more expensive. The idea is to buy one certificate with 1 or 2 year licence and use it for two, three, ... web applications.
Fe, I've a look to Thawte certificates but I don't find any info talking about the possibility to apply one certificate for more web applications.
Any suggests to me, please?
SP 2013 - Error: This operation can be performed only on a computer that is joined to a server farm
Hello Community!
I am working with SharePoint 2013 and I built a farm inside the firewall. Then a decision was made to move the two WFE's to the DMZ. Since that time, whenever I try to access the site collections, I get the error below. Other information: All the web applications are on port 80, but I'm not having any problem with accessing Central Administration which is on port 8080; the network team did screw up the DNS originally, but I'm told it's correct now; the two WFE's servers show in my Manage servers on the Farm interface 2X, once with the server name, once with the fully Qualified Domain Name, the ones with the FQDN shows a Services Running status of Not Configured.
Has anyone else ever seen this error and if so please provide guidance and instruction for fixing the error.
Thanks!
Tom

Crawl errors: Sandbox worker pool is closed
Hi
We are currently setting our SharePoint farm and got into an issue I could not find any information about.
After setting multiple content sources we get the following errors that can be found on the Crawl Log for some of the items:
Processing this item failed because of an unknown error when trying to parse its contents. ( Error parsing document 'http://site/url'. Sandbox worker pool is closed.; ; SearchID = 6A9F9644-31EE-4796-B355-D92C35D50973 )
and
The content processing pipeline failed to process the item. ( Error parsing document 'http://site/url'. It was not possible to acquire a worker. Proxy '131' failed to acquire worker. Sandbox worker pool is closed.; ; SearchID = 194A2340-CB92-4F36-AAB8-C55EC794F7C3 )
A few more characteristics:
- This does not occur for all items on content source, but only for a few of them.
- When it starts it takes a very long time until the crawl completes.
- After rebooting the back end and the search query servers this error is usually gone (we can start crawling items successfully) but after a few hours it is back.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Avishay

New instance of Sharepoint 2013 with latest CU installed. We upgraded 3 sites via mount database and they appear to work fine. I can create new web applications, however when we try to create a new site collection via the GUI or PS it fails. Can anyone please help us solve this? I have searched high and low to figure this out and I have not found anything helpful. I have checked permissions on the database and the user is a farm admin that is running the PS with elevation.

PowerPivot Management Dashboard Processing Timer Job Error
We have the following SharePoint 2013 BI farm configuration: 1 SQL 2012 SP1 server for the SharePoint databases, 1 SQL 2012 SP1 server with Analysis instances for PowerPivot and Tabular mode and 1 single SharePoint 2013 server.
The problem we are facing is with the processing of the PowerPivot Management Dashboard Excel sheet. During the processing of the timer job the following execption is found in de ULS logs on the SharePoint server.
EXCEPTION: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AmoException: The 'Database' with 'ID' = 'PowerPivot20Management20Data_febbc76ffbdb4bbfaf9e31e635b160fe_8e4e71112d854575ae6de08cf8dc1c4b_SSPM' doesn't exist in the collection.

at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.DatabaseCollection.get_Item(String id)
at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SPAddin.UsageProcessingTimerJob.RefreshUsageCube(GeminiServiceApplication application)
at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SPAddin.UsageProcessingTimerJob.Execute(Guid targetInstanceId)A
The given cube is however present in the PowerPivot instance. A SQL Profiler trace does not show any errors and it looks as if the cube is being processed.
More information on the Excel/PowerPivot/Farm configuration:
- SQL alias is used to access the database server. This alias is also configured on the Analysis server.
- PowerPivot and Excel service application both use a domain account. domain\serviceapps. All SharePoint service application this same account.
- PowerPivot service application is build using the PowerPivot wizard. Afterwards the service account is changed from the farm account to the ssa account (see previous).
- The ssa account is administrator on the POWERPIVOT OLAP instance.
- The ssa account is granted permissions on the CA content database using the following PowerShell lines
$w = Get-SPWebApplication -Identity http://cawebapp$w.GrantAccessToProcessIdentity("domain\serviceapps")
- The PowerPivot OLAP server is added to the Excel services Data Model Settings as <server>\POWERPIVOT.
- Central Administration website is running NTLM.
I can't find any similar situation online, so any helpfull information or suggestions are more the welcome.
Thanks
Records Center Not Routing Documents
Greetings All,
I have a records center that, when I manually upload a document to the drop off library and set the properties correctly (to match a routing rule), will be routed to the destination library without issue.
When I upload a document to the drop off library and set the properties using PowerShell, the document is never routed. If I edit the item, not changing a thing, and click Submit, the document is routed.
Has anyone ever seen this?
