Dears,
There was a farm already configured by someone and the distributed cache was not running. So i just tried to start the distributed cache and its giving me "cacheHostInfo is null" error. When I check the distributed cache service configuration file so i find the below:
<dataCacheConfig cacheHostName="AppFabricCachingService"><!-- The default log location is hard-coded --><log location="" logLevel="-1" /><clusterConfig connectionString="" /></dataCacheConfig>
so what would be the cause for the above? so what should be the most appropriate way to start the distributed cache service on this farm?
Farm configuration as below:
please advice,
thanks,

Greetings,
I have followed all steps to configure the SharePoint Store in SharePoint Server 2013. I can open the SharePoint Store, but all applications are greyed out and I can see this error message : "Sorry, but this app is not supported by your server" for all apps. However, I have a Enterprise Licence of SharePoint 2013 ans there is not another error message, but I cannot add an app from SharePoint Store.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

PS C:\Users\centraluser> New-SPWebApplication -Name "SharePoint - 100" -ApplicatGreetings,
I have a Records Center, that uses content organizer rules to route documents to their final resting point (once a number of conditions are met). On the destination records library, I have a workflow that sets security on a new item. That workflow is never executed when the content organizer routes the document. If I go to the destination library and modify the item, the workflow runs without issue.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a work-around?
Thank you,

I'm installing SharePoint 2013 on some fresh Server 2012 virtual machines. I have done this in our test environment with no problems. Now that I'm doing the production system install I'm having issues with the prerequisites. I'm using an offline install method; I've already added the roles/features required using a script and have the prereq files staged in the prerequisiteinstallerfiles directory; the arguments file contains the following:
/PowerShell:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\WINDOWS6.1-KB2506143-x64.msu" /NETFX:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe" /IDFX:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\Windows6.1-KB974405-x64.msu" /sqlncli:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\sqlncli.msi" /Sync:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\Synchronization.msi" /AppFabric:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\WindowsServerAppFabricSetup_x64.exe" /IDFX11:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\MicrosoftIdentityExtensions-64.msi" /WCFDataServices:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\WcfDataServices.exe" /KB2671763:".\prerequisiteinstallerfiles\AppFabric1.1-RTM-KB2671763-x64-ENU.exe"
This worked great in the test environment. Now when I run the prerequisiteinstaller.exe the packages are failing with the following:
2013-12-19 09:26:39 - Error: The tool was unable to install Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime v1.0 SP1 (x64).
2013-12-19 09:26:39 - Last return code (0X653=1619)
that means:
This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
Had the same error code for the SQL Native Client, so I ran the installer manually and it worked without a problem, so the installer IS valid.
Yes I could just install them manually or perhaps switch to the batch file method, but THIS WORKED IN TEST and I really do not want to go back and change the deployment approach.
My assumption is something has changed in the environment, perhaps a Windows update that I applied to the test servers after deployment I may have applied to prod before deployment. That is about the only thing I can think of that is different. So before I start madly uninstalling updates or accept defeat and change my deployment method; has anyone run into this? any suggestions?
I have a SharePoint 2013 server farm. This is configured with a webapplication having windows authentication and extended for custom FBA as well. When a powerview report is created and deployed to the site that connects to SSAS cube in windows auth mode, the report works fine without issue. However, when switching to FBA mode, the same power view reports do not work. It says Server is not available. Am i missing any configuration or any setting for this.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I have resolved the processing error (n°401) on my workflow 2013 cause the UPS was not retrieved me all the users profiles.
Now i have got the Error 500 when the WF 2013 trie to be executed. It was "canceled" again. The ULS log files contains this error :
"/test/workflow/_vti_bin/client.svc/web/lists/getbyid(guid'b6f9bea7-7096-4d5c-a05c-4cadea172cd2')" Object reference not set to an instance...
But the workflow 2010 was fine !
Best regards.
Hi There.
After we have changed certificate on OWA2013 it has stopped working on our sharepoint2013.
We have also ran this command on Sharepoint2013: SPWOPIProofKey, but that didn't help.
Any suggestion how to fix this?
with best regards,

Hello,
i cannot setup the Workflow Manager 1.0 - Service Bus Farm Component on my 2012 Server where sharepoint 2013 is installed.
Within my test Environment, anything went smooth, but on Production, it wont work.
http://tinypic.com/r/27zaddl/5
i am logged in as domain admin / sharepoint admin,
want to user a domain user account who also runs the mssql instances (mssql@)
i already installed ServiceBus-KB2799752-x64-EN
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2799752
i already put my domain admin account and said mssql@ User Account under "wellknownobject" cn=users
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsazure/en-US/3d803e15-606a-4f06-96fe-97c23ad3c01a/service-bus-for-windows-server-throws-exception-on-farm-configuration-wizard-and-powershell?forum=servbus
sadly, my sql Server is in german, so i got german error codes (wtf?) it would translate to:
An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify that each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the alias to a valid name.
on the Database Server, i see the DB being created, put into "single user mode" if i am not mistaken, and it vanishes afterwards again.
Can the SQL Server be too old ? Its Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Service Pack 1, 10.50.2550.0 (2008 R2 SP1 + MS12-070 Fix (KB 2716440)) Standard Edition
thanks
I get the following error when I hit "Follow" at the top right corner of any site in the Collaboration web app(see my env below).
Sorry we could not follow the site
InternalError : Could not follow the item <site name>
My Environment:
SP2013 Farm with two web apps 1) collaboration 2) My Sites
My Sites are up and running as expected. All features including "Follow" are working fine. However when I go to any site on collaboration web app and hit follow, I get the above listed error. I get the same behavior if I try to follow a document as well.
Please note that these features are working fine on my sites web application. I couldn't find anything in ULS log coz its not generating any correlation id.
I would really appreciate any pointers to resolve this problem.

Hi!
I have created a Sharepoint site within my organization, and in that site I have one(1) application, tasks.
What I want is that when someone of my workers create A task, it should send an email to the assigned contact.
And after reading the help forums and searching by myself I believe that I have all the settings correct in order to make it do so.
But whenever a task is created, no email arrives to the assigned contact.
Why?
All ideas and tips are welcome.

Hi there!
We had some problems with Office Web Apps 2013 not working with Lync, and the status of OWA was unhealty so we decided to install some updates for OWA.
We have downloaded November 2013 update for OWA.
We found out a guide for putting updates on OWA and done this steps:
* Remove-OfficeWebAppsMachine
* Installed the november update
* Restarted OWA server
* ran: New-OfficeWebAppsFarm -InternalUrl https://owasrv.domain.local -ExternalURLhttps://owasrv.domain.local -CertificateName "certname" -AllowHttp -EditingEnabled
* Restart-Service WACSM
- checked in IIS in the bindings if the site useses the correct certificate
Then we went on Sharepoint 2013 and ran some commands:
* Remove-SPWOPIBinding –All:$true
* New-SPWOPIBinding -ServerName owasrv.domain.local
* Set-SPWOPIZone –zone “external-https”
Now here are the funny things:
* Excel word app on Sharepoint 2013 works
* Word APP not working (screenshot)
* Lync 2013 powerpoint still not working (screenshot)
* status of OWA is healthy

Hi,
We have SharePoint 2013 installed the company has yet not made a decision about User Profile Service Application.
Question: - By default when we click on the user account, we see the account, name and any other information which has been updated on the Active Directory, in our case the email address is not being displayed.
What could be the reason, what steps could be taken to troubleshoot the issue?
Please advice
