Hello

After upgrading SharePoint Reports from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013, when I click the data source file for a report I get the following error:

Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SharePointException: Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. ---> Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: User cannot be found.

My SharePoint Farm is made up of 1 WFE, 1 Application Server and 1 SQL Server. I have configured to root Web Application to use Kerberos/Claims and I am using a Domain Account as a Service Account for Reporting Services.

The log file says this:

Outside Users Are FORCED to have a Microsoft Account? Say what?

$

I have users in my Customer Contacts that I want to create a secure site for.  I DO NOT want them to become a part of my organization, and DO NOT EVER want them to be prompted to create a Microsoft account.  This is a shameful business decision so that you can sell more X boxes.  You have forgotten your core competency to serve the business user.

You have only two choices, share your secure site with a Hotmail account, or share it with yourcompany.com and give them a brand new email address.  There is no way around it that I can find and I am in shock and Microsoft should be ashamed.  Please help if you know a way.  Thank you.

New SharePoint database does not use ModelDB Initial size settings

Hi, im settings up two new SharePoint 2013 farms. One production and one Test. They run on Windows 2012 Servers and the Database server are dedicated to SharePoint, running 2 instances, one for each farm.
Sharepoint are updated to Marts Public Update

The Database is SQL 2012 running on Windows Server 2012 in core mode.

I have this problem.

When creating content databases or installing services that create databases, they do not read the ModelDB settings. Im using PowerShell scripts but have testet through Central Admin too, same problem.
It is not the know bug with autogrowth, i know SharePoint dont read this. But initial size are ignored too.

More corectly it uses a previous value.
I have changed the initial size of the log files from 2,5 GB to 50 MB, there were a calculation error early on in the project.
But now, when i create any database the logfil starts as a 2,5 GB file. I have restarted the instances, and all servers too, just to be sure.
It is like both farms have cached the earlier value some where and simply ignores the current value set in ModelDB.

When i create a database in SQL Management Studio, up front it works fine.

Any idea on where SharePoint have cached this value and how i clear it ? Internet searches have not indicated this is a common issue.

How to create My Sites under Host Named Site Collections?

$

0

I've been wrestling with this for some time now and am about to give up. MS advises that we create all our site collections in one web application and supports both host-named site collections and path-named site collections in the same web app. Cool. But I can't figure out how to make that work with My Sites.

I can set up the HNSC and configure all the My Site settings but when I go to enable Self-Service Site Creation on the web application I can't reference any FQDN. All it shows me is the name of the server (SPDEVSERV) which is what I bound the HNSC to originally.

Is there some trick to getting the self-service site creation to recognize the URL of root site collection in the web application?

test-spcontentdatabase error with claims authentictaion mode in sharepoint 2013

$

I know this has been come up before but could not find any good answer so reposting . I am following Microfoft guide for upgrading Sp 2010 to Sp2013. Existing SP2010 sites use claims based authentication. I made backup of existing content database from SP2010 farm, copied them to SP2013 farm and restored on database server. Also  created web applications on SP2013 farm also using claims based authentication from UI in Central Administration .

After that I used Test-SPContentDatabase cmdlet in order to check restored SP2010 content database against SP2013 web application and i am getting error

Category        : Configuration
Error           : False
UpgradeBlocking : False
Message         : The [SharePoint Primary - 443] web application is configured with claims authentication mode however the content database you are trying to attach is intended to be used against a windows classic authentication mode.
Remedy          : There is an inconsistency between the authentication mode of target web application and the source web application. Ensure that the authentication mode setting in upgraded web application is the same as what you had in previous
                  SharePoint 2010 web application. Refer to the link "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=236865" for more information.

Any idea on how to resolve and why am i getting this error ?

Thanks

How to remove Sharepoint completely from Server.

Hi everybody, I am trying to delete SharePoint completely. I have SharePoint 2013 installation on Windows Server 2012 . I have no Active Directory, the installation type is farm with external sql server 2012.

I would to like to reinstall SharePoint but I do not want to reinstall Windows. Is there some kind of script which I could use after uninstalling from Control Panel? As far as I know I have to remove the remaining database and users from the sql server. What else should I remove?

SP 2013, claims based authentication + iis anonymous

$

Hi,

we use SPS 2013 with claims based authentication. Appearently Sharepoint now configures our websites with anonymous access enabled. this is, according to following blog, by design:

http://shpt2010.wordpress.com/2011/11/10/multiple-authentication

But all our wcf services (bound to sharepoint factory) and all default artifacts (like default SharePoint js files in the _layouts folder) are accessible for any user. This cannot be the right way it should be configured.... but what happens if we disable anonymous access on IIS?? I always learned, let SPS do the configuration....

I need advice asap....

Disable the "Get most out of SharePoint" dialog when opening the Newsfeed

Hello,

When you access the My Site Newsfeed for the first time a dialog "Get most out of SharePoint" appears. In our case the dialog below appears, because we have migrated a SharePoint 2010 environment to SharePoint 2013. When a user presses "Ok" all the files in the libraries on their My Site are moved to their SkyDrive Pro.

Does anybody know how to disable this popup and the document move action?<o:p></o:p>

SharePoint 2013 Workflow accounts

$

I successfully setup a workflow server, all patched and used an admin account called spwfmanager, which has the DB rights.

On my sp farm, I have a farm admin account called sp2013adm

I'm at the last phase where I need to connect the two and i'm watching the MS videos.  The guys tests to see if he can pull up his sp site in a web browser, from the SP server, then tries to pull up the workflow URL from the same browser on the sp site. He gets a login prompt on that, but that's because he needs to add the workflow site to the trusted local sites in IE.

He's using SSL for his example.

I'm just using HTTP.  So no certs.  I added the site to the local intranet sites, so i stopped getting a prompt, but now I get 403 forbidden.

How do I add my sp admin account to permissions to the workflow site?  I imagine that if I try to run the Register-SPWorkflowService commandlet it's not going to work either, although I haven't tried it, because i'm running that as my sp admin account as well from the sp server.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages after removal and reinstall of My Sites

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

We had 9 child domains that they collapsed down to one main domain. Of course, this screwed up quite a bit of the permissions within SharePoint, which we were eventually able to overcome. However, the My Sites were completely screwed as they were linked to the old Domain login.

After a lot of looking around, I just decided to blow it away and start from scratch.

I removed the site collection, the web application, the web site, the app pool, and the database, and started clean.

Everything seemed to go fine except during one part of the Creating Web Application, after it was finished it showed "Page cannot be displayed" but everything worked, so kept going.

Now after I have everything configured correctly, when I go to Newessfeeds or SkyDrive, it is coming up with the above error.

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 2 installed but fails on PSConfig 'Upgrading SharePoint Products' 10% Complete

After successfully upgrading to SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 2 on my 3 server Farm I get this error. Can anyone help?

The farm is being upgraded in the timer service process. The task is 10.00% completed. And then it fails with this in the App Event Viewer:

Configuration of SharePoint Products failed.  Configuration must be performed in order for this product to operate properly.  To diagnose the problem, review the extended error information located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS\PSCDiagnostics_8_2_2013_22_44_10_761_853548910.log, fix the problem, and run this configuration wizard again.

And this is in the error log:

SharePoint 2013 Server Name Mappings are not Recognized by Office Web Apps 2013

I believe I may have found a bug with SharePoint 2013 / Office Web Apps 2013 Document previews in the search results...

We have ADFS authentication configured for our web application on the Default zone and have extended the web application to use Windows authentication on the Internal zone for crawling (we want the default authentication to be ADFS, but search requires Windows authentication to crawl content so that is why we had to extend it). All worked well and we were able to get the search results to display correctly by using Server Name Mappings, but when hovering over a document in the search results, Office Web Apps does not recognize the Server Name Mapping and tries to load the preview with the Internal zone URL (which is only accessible on the server).

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and if so, could you help me out? Thanks!

Best way to add, deploy and remove the solutions in Sharepoint 2013 Environment?

$

Hi All,

We have a plugin, on installation of this plugin, we have an "exe" which will add and deploy the solution(.wsp files) in central configuration site. On Un - installation of the plugin, the exe will deactivate the activated features related to our plugin, retract the solution and finally remove the solution. This plugin will be installed in all web front ends.

For performing the above operation, we can use PowerShell commands or SharePoint APIS (as STSADM is deprecated, I am not including that). May I know the best way to do the same?

PowerShell commands:

There are two ways in this also

  1. Passing the PowerShell commands to System.Diagnostics.Process

        ProcessStartInfo pInfo = new ProcessStartInfo("<PowerShellExePath>", "<ScriptToExecute or Powershell File Name");

        Process process = new Process();
        process.StartInfo = pInfo;
        process.Start()

  2.  Runspace API

            Runspace runspace = RunspaceFactory.CreateRunspace(InitialSessionState.CreateDefault());
            runspace.Open();

            PowerShell powerShellCommand = PowerShell.Create();
            powerShellCommand.Runspace = runspace;
            powerShellCommand.AddScript("Add-PsSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell");
            powerShellCommand.AddScript(script);

            powerShellCommand.Invoke<string>();

SharePoint APIs

Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPFarm.Local.Solutions.Add or Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPFarm.Local.Solutions.Remove].

Thanks & Regards,

Kalai.

At this time after I install workflow manager server I can create SharePoint Workflow 2013 but the workflow start with suspended. ID4220: The SAML Assertion is either not signed or the signature's KeyIdentifier cannot be resolved to a SecurityToken

$

0

This error occur when attempting to execute a SharePoint App on a site configured to use SAML (i.e. Azure ACS).  The parent SharePoint Site works just fine using Azure ACS.

Initially this site was configured for anonymous access, but the SharePoint App would cause 500 Internal Server Error, so no anonymous on Sites with SharePoint App.

Also for SharePoint App to run it must be in the Default Zone; running in a different zone also resulted in 500 Internal Server Error.  (If this is the case using a SharePoint App then extending a Site or using AAM will break the App?)

Next Azure ACS fails because the SharePoint App needs a different Return Url (https://<SharePoint App FQDN>/_trust/default.aspx), so new realm in ACS was created, but using the same SPTrustedRootAuthority.

This new realm was added to the SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer:

$issuer = Get-SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer
$issuer.ProviderRealms.Add($uri, $realm)
$issuer.Update()

How to configure SharePoint App to run using Azure ACS enabled zone (Default Zone).

What additional configurations are missing with the above error:

hardware and software requirements

hi,

to start, our idea is to have secretaries share documents (either amongst themselves or a select few). something like document management(?) and somehow suggested SharePoint. I checked the website for the requirementsSharePoint requirements but it doesn't speak of a straight "hardware" and "software" requirements. there are some categories, for lack of a better term, that needs to be chosen.

should I select database, or application, or business intelligence, or eDiscovery? we just want initially to share Office documents.

appreciate any help.
