I applied March update for sharepoint 2013 environment (multi  machine architecure 1 for SP 1 for SQL 2012), then triggered the sharepoint config wizard which is failing with the following message:

"An exception of typye Microsoft.sharepoint.PostsetupConfiguration.PostsetupConfigurationTaskException was thrown."

In event viewer I have the following errors

An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: There was no endpoint listening at http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc/actas that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details..

Report Server Integration Feature is missing in site collection feature lists, so, i cannot activate it to get the SQL Server Reporting Services Content Types. No sure if it is related with a recent PU and CU patching.

Is coping a list item from one sub-site to another (in the same web application and site collection) possible now in SharePoint 2013 as an OOTB feature?

In SP 2010 this wasn't possible howeverthere were several options available in CodePlex but I don't see any for SharePoint 2013. I'm looking for a no code solution.

I've installed SharePoint Foundation 2013 an have tried out the search facility. After performing some searches I decided I wanted to try out the "Search Alert" feature. I do the following:

1. Perform a search
2. Click the "Alert me" link
3. Enter the details for the alert and click "OK

After doing this I get the following error "The was a problem configuring your
Search Alerts. It looks like you don't have a valid user profile. To verify that
your profile is configured correctly, contact your administrator.

HI, I already have the User Profile Service up and running in my SP 2013 farm. When I look at the properties of the User Profile Service Application, all the failover database options are grayed out. Do you have suggestions on how I can adjust the failover database settings?

We are tryin to migrate our sharepoint/project server 2010 server to sharepoint/project 2013.

I follow the technet article on how to migrate.

Everything seems to run fine but when we connect to the project web app and select the Projects center or resources center views, we obtain a access denied.

Metadata, user profil, were migrated.

We also deploy a new project service application to a new webb app and in this case we can browse these views without any problem.

I have installed SharePoint 2013, running on 4 servers(Database, Application, 2 X Front-end). The servers are connected in a farm.

I tested creating a web application, and it works. 

The problem is, in SharePoint 2007 when i created the web application it deployed the files on the Front-End servers and not the Web application server(C:/inetpub/wwwroot... folder). 

In SharePoint 2013 the applications are deployed on the Web application server and not the front ends.

Do You have an idea what i am doing wrong?

New trial server install.  It's a virtiual server on vmware esx 5, it has 1 cpu w/ 4 cores, 8gb ram and 80gb system drive with 200 gb data partition.  We used the 'trial or development install' option from the sharepoint installer with the sql 2008 express database backend.  Everything installed on 1 server.

We have a Production enviroment (PRODSP.DOM) and running Sharepoint 2013 CU AUG installed. We have also installed a new enviroment (ACCSP.DOM) and our development team wants to have the both SP's on the same version and content.

We have taken a backup on the production env and we do a restore to the acc env. During the restore we have 2 errors all the same error : 1387.

We use the option restore to a new farm. We also make sure there are no services or applications installed or even web applications. (a real fresh SP install)

Also we use the same setup : 2 FE/APP servers and SQL Clusters.

We are unable to make it working (search and profile service)

Is there something we do wrong ?

We're considering restructuring our web application to have a single site collection but are concerned about size.  In the technet artcile on "Software boundaries and limits for SharePoint 2013" MS suggests "refactoring" for scaling out across multiple content databases.  What exactly is meant by "refactoring"?  Does this simply mean moving sites from content database A to content database B?  Or does this refer to a new capability to span a single site collection across multiple databases? 

From the technet article:

Is it possible to configure ADFS and SharePoint to allow the ability to log on using the email address attribute from AD?  This would be different that the UPN because the username and domain are different from the email user name and domian.

For example my UPN might be:

hornw@domain.com

and my email address is:

wes.horn@otherdomain.com

We want users to be able to logon using the email address to make it simple since we are using the email claim once they get into SharePoint.

We are looking at setting up 3 host named site collections for our offices in 3 countries. There will be one common home page with links to these 3 site collections. With the new host named site collection feature, the web application needs to be the same name as the server name, which is a problem because staff will access the site via an address like https://company.com and not http://<servername>.

Have something very odd going on since our upgrade to the 2013 (we are being hosted my sharepoint.com).   For some reason when I click the Edit Item button on a list view item I get a new form that pops up, but nothing in the Form shows *see image below.  However I can create a new list item with the form and I can view the item *image below.  But I can't edit it.  This was working before our upgrade.

I installed completed type, it asked to create new server farm. But it give me error when I put sql server name, database name, and user name.  I am using SQL server 2012, windows server 2008 r2. Does anyone know if incoming email feature can be configured in Office 365 (SharePoint) environment, so an email from the outlook can be saved in a SharePoint list. I know this can be done in Enterprise and other versions, just curious if it is available in Office 365 as well.
