I am doing a upgrade. I have multiple error saying that features and web parts are missing.
the poor thing is it tells the id not the name of the feature or web part.
I know we can query the content database directly to get the names of features and web parts missing.
anyone know the query or procedure that will give me the names of missing web parts and features in a content database.

I have a fairly new installation of SharePoint 2013 standard, and I have created a "MySite" on a separate site collection. Profiles are syncing fine, but if any user tries to upload their profile picture, they get an access denied message. I have verified that the service accounts have write access to the MySite profile picture library, and that users can edit other profile information. I can edit a user's profile from the User Profile Service application on the user's behalf and it is successful, however under my same user account I can not update my own profile picture on mysite.
Anyone have any ideas??
I have a folder in a library which I have shared with member of our staff. The invitation sent from SharePoint 2013 was received and connection, authentication and synchronization occured without a problem.
I gave access to an external user (with a hotmail account). The link in the invitation showed the folder to be accessed but authentication failed.
I am a member of the administrators group for our Sharepoint 2013 installation, but I am unable to find any reference in site settings to "allowing external users".
Anybody know the "magic word"?

I am trying to creating host named site collections. The publishing site is up and fine, and for authoring purpose i am trying to create a site collection based on Product Catalog template. However I get an error as follows
New-SPSite : This feature is not available for use. Search-Driven content (592CCB4A-9304-49AB-AAB1-66638198BB58) feature needs to be installed to use this feature.
The complete command is as follows
New-SPSite'http://sitecatalog'-HostHeaderWebApplication$w-Name'Site Catalog'-Description Site catalog'-OwnerAlias'domain\user'-language1033-Template'PRODUCTCATALOG#0'-verbose
On trying to enable the feature i get his message
Enable-SPFeature : The Feature is either not found or not a Farm Level Feature. Use Url parameter to specify the scope of the Feature
The command i gave was "Enable-SPFeature -Identity 592CCB4A-9304-49AB-AAB1-66638198BB58 "
Further I created a Path Based site collection through Central Admin but the Product Catalog template was missing there as well.
does' anyone have a proper alternative solution for the missing resource reservations feature in SP2010. What i really need is this 'check double booking' feature. I have no idea how i should get this to work.

I have SharePoint Server 2013 running on a Hyper-V VM on Windows Server 2012 Standard. Everything is on one server since our installation is very small (>100 people).
I noticed a general sluggishness to our SharePoint site that started once we began to add pages to our site. I took at look at the error log and noticed the AppFabric Caching Service is stopped and I assume this could be the reason why the site is so slow. We receive the "Working On It" screen every time we load a page for around 15-30 seconds per page.
I'll start the AppFabric Caching Service again and within 5 minutes it stops again. Here is a summary of the process. The details of each event ID are below.

I created a site mailbox on new created site in Sharepoint by technet article. All of new users except site collection admin who are unable to login site mailbox and get below error:
This site mailbox is all set up, but it looks like you don't have permission to access this site mailbox. Double-check to make sure that your name appears in the site's default owners or default members group. If you were recently added, it may take up to one day to receive access.
Anybody know how to fix it?

Hi All,
Actually We have our production url up and running but there is no development !!! So i am right now configuring the development url. I have created a blank publishing site for this. I took the back up of production using
Export-SPWeb - Identity - Path
And did the import using import-spweb.
When i tried to open the url it is throwing error that ""List does not exists"
"Unexpected error when trying to resolve virtual path '~masterurl/custom.master' for basePath '/Pages/default.aspx' in request 'http:///Pages/default.aspx': 'List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist."
Even the subsite is not opening . It is also throwing error. Please advise how to do complete back up & restore / Import &export.

Im trying to migration a Sub-Site from 2010 to an new 2013 Server. I have already done a Database-Attach-Upgrade. So I have a working WebApplication with an Upgraded-SiteCollection including my Sub-Site. But I want the SubSite "Development" in an another WebApplication in a new SiteCollection. So I already tried it with export/import-spweb. But this overwrites creation date und users. My Idea was to move this site to an new SiteCollection within that WebApplication do a Backup and Restore that Backup on my new SiteCollection.
Possible?

I am trying to migrate from SP 2007 to SP 2013 by the middletier SP 2010. The SP 2007 contains a custom list consisting of 256 columns.
While migrating to SP 2010, it works fine but when in SP 2013 its giving the below error.
I have tried to delete the custom list and then done the migration but still the issue persists.

Common problem after configuring Exchange / SharePoint integration. When you go to Tasks on your MySite, you get "we're having trouble refreshing your tasks". The accepted solution appears to be changing the account running the Work Management service application to match the account running the MySite app pool.
Why is this and is this the recommended solution from Microsoft?

I have migrated serval sitecollections from WSS 3.0 (SharePoint 2007) to SharePoint 2010 Foundation and then to SharePoint Foundation 2013.
Now in SharePoint 2013 no page titles appears, but under the title "Homepage" appears. I'dont know where "Homepage" is come from. The title of the page is "Test". Changing the title has no effect. In SharePoint 2010 Foundation the page titles appears correctly.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Since the deployment of the SharePoint the monitoring reports are not working although I configured it. I setup other 5 Sharepoint 2013 deplpyment without any trouble. All timing of the jobs of different services are scheduled, some of them ran sucessfuly, but I do not find any running job which is not expected. All messages are in the lowest mode (verbose, etc.).

When I access the Health Report appears the following message:

In Administrative Reports there is not any report.

Hello All,
I need your expert opinion on SharePoint 2013 on running which share point services on what server.
mentioned below are list of all the services and i want to know what services will you recommend to run on WFE and App Server. For example in a server farm with 2 wfe(load balanced) and 2 app server I will run search on one app and rest of service including CA on second app. what other services can we run on these 2 servers e.g. Distributed Cache etc. and what services should be running on WFE.

Here is my scenario - We have Sharepoint 2013 on one server. Users on this domain server can login into sharepoint using windows authentication.
Now, I want to give sharepoint access to other domain users from different domains also. I came to know that we can do it using ADFS.
Could anyone guide me little bit about this process?

In SharePoint 2010 this was fairly simple. However, in SharePoint 2013.....NOTHING is so simple.
I have security groups created. When an individual logs into their Office 365 portal OWA account and accesses our SharePoint Home site, I want to limit specific actions and functions based on their group policy.
I currently have a Department drop-down list showing all of our company departments. If John Smith is not in the HR Department, he should not see HR Department in the Department drop-down list. However, he will see all the other departments which are not being excluded from his specific group access.
How can I modify these group privileges/restrictions settings within the Office 365 SharePoint Admin portal functions?
