Can't open IRM protected document in office applications and office web apps
I'm using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with Office Web Apps 2013 and Information Rights Management Configured. (All of our servers are on-prem including the ADRMS)
I have two universal distribution groups that I have users assigned to.
SharePoint-RMSReadOnly
SharePoint-RMSEdit
I am unable to open IRM protected documents from sharepoint in Office Web Apps or the associated Office Applications.
When I open the document in Office Web Apps I get the following error
Sorry, Word Web App can't open this document because it's protected by Information Rights Management (IRM). To view this document please open it in Microsoft Word.
When click "Open in Word" I'm prompted for my domain credentials. I enter my credentials and receive this error/prompt.
This content could not be accessed using your current credentials do you want to use your microsoft account to access this content?
The Permissions on the document I'm testing with I have the Read Only distro group in the Read Only section and the Edit distro group in the Edit section.
I've tried using accounts from both groups to access the document, but receive the same errors on both. I've also read that you should be able to access IRM documents through Office Web Apps in Read-Only Mode.
How do I configure IRM so I can access IRM Protected documents in Office Web Apps and Office Applications?

Why to upgrade from SharePoint 2013?
My organization is using SharePoint 2013 SP1. Now, I want to propose them to upgrade from SharePoint 2013. What are the reasons to upgrade to SharePoint Online, 2016 & 2019? Does anybody have details regarding such type of proposals to convince the organization that it's high time you need to upgrade? I have been researching too. Any kind of report will help.

"This form cannot be opened in a Web browser. To open this form, use Microsoft InfoPath." infopath form Item ceated from another list workflow
I have created workflow associated with list which on change/new it creates an item in InfoPath form library, on opening the newly created item it shows "This form cannot be opened in a Web browser. To open this form, use Microsoft InfoPath, "but if we create new item directly from InfoPath form library it works fine and open the InfoPath form on browser without any error.
Checked "Open in browser" in InfoPath form Library option,
Checked "Render form templates that are browser-enabled by users" in Central Administration..
But still no luck...Please help !!

Sharepoint Server Hotfix Update is missing
Hello everyone,
I have problem with updates, i am tring to add server to my farm as FE, i run Sharepoint products configuration wizard and there are missing 2 updates. I can`t find them. Please Help.
Packets are "Hotfix for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB2880962) 64-Bit Edition" and "Hotfix for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB2883068) 64-Bit Edition (15.0.4649.1001)".
They where installed on other servers, even i tried to delete these updates from other servers but i cant.

SP2013 Missing Form Templates Library from Root of Collection - Cannot Create New Workflows - InfoPath error
We have two 2013 Site Collections.
One allows us to create workflows no issues.
The second collection users cannot create any workflows. You can save the workflow, but when publishing, all attempts fail with an InfoPath error. (Activation could not be completed because the infopath forms services support feature is not present) Looking at the differences between the collections they appear identical accept for one area.
The working collection has a Form Template library at the root. The broken collection does not.
Anticipating someone accidentally deleted the Form Template library, I went to restore and it could not be found. Next I tried to create new, but could not. The URL is /Sites/ABC/FormServerTemplates/Forms/All Forms.aspx and the description reads; "The library contains administrator-approved form templates that were activated to this site collection."
How can I get this Form Templates library installed?

No access to users after AD Group has been restored in AD
Hi,
we have the following situation:
- UserA is member of ADGroup1
- ADGroup1 has been added to a SharePoint SPGroup1
- SPGroup1 has contribute permissions to a website.
ADGroup1 has been accidentally deleted from AD. Sysadmins where able to restore the Group from its AD recyclebin.
Users say they do not have access to the website.
We checked
- the SID of ADGroup in AD and in SP are exactly the same. Due to the restore the SIDs are the same. If we had recreated them, then the SID would have been different.
- Users are still members of the ADGroup1.
What can we be missing?

User Profile Synchronization Service Starting then Stopped in SharePoint 2013
Hello all,
We have created User Profile Service but when we are stating it, it is stuck on starting and after 10-15 min when we refreshed the pages , it is again showing stopped .
We applied all below solutions , even we deleted UPS using Power Shell , restart the server and again created new one but no luck:-(

Adding new server to farm: Configuration failed. GUID should contain 32 digits
Hello -
I was trying to add a new app server to our existing SP2013 farm. Got all of the KBs installed, entered the passphrase, and finally errors out with configuration failed error. The PSC Diag log oddly shows SP 2010 in the beginning of the trace log. See below. I did not copy over any of the files from old app to new app server in the 14.0 directory. Is that required?

Adding new server to farm: Configuration failed. License state doesn't match

I am trying to add a new app server to our prod SP2013 farm (consists of app1, wfe1, owa1). Adding app2. Received this error previously, but resolved. Now getting this message:
An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: The current server cannot be joined to this farm because the set of installed products does not match the products installed in the farm.
The license state for the current server doesn't match the farm's license state.
Found this blog that mentions to run Set-SPFarmConfig–InstalledProductsRefresh on any of the existing servers (e.g., app1). Would that cause any issues with the existing setup?

Why did upgrade run when I started product configuration wizard?

I added a new app server (app2) to the server farm. I started production configuration on the old server (app1) to disconnect it from the farm. Instead the configuration wizard is running the upgrade sequence....not what I wanted to happen....

Currently user have to click on the app from site content page to execute code written in JSOM inside SharePoint hosted app. I would like to directly execute the code written in app without any clicks required. Is it possible to do this for SharePoint hosted apps?

office online server
Hello,
We are working on migrating from SP2013 to SP2016
Current Set up:
we have 2 domains . Domain A (Internal users only) , Domain B (Internal and external users). There is selective trust between these domains. Servers are created only in Domain A .
There are two URL's for the web app , one with windows Authentication and other with ADFS (External Domain B users). We always use ADFS URL for everything.
New SP 2016 architecture.
we will be using default 4 min role servers. As stated above all the servers are in Domain A including office online server.
1. When I am creating the office online farm I was wondering if it is safe to include FQDN in URL as below . What is the best practice to create URL considering this name will show up in the URL when users open a word doc in a browser.

2. As it is stated in the microsoft docs that "Office Online Server must reside in the same Active Directory forest as its users as well as any external data sources that you plan to access using Windows-based authentication."
In SharePoint 2013 we heavily use excel services . Now when we migrate to SP2016, there is no excel service and only OOS server. Considering the statement above about servers and AD, will our external users logging in with ADFS be able to open these excel webparts ?

Launch PowerPoint in Slide Show View from within SharePoint
I am trying to create a hyperlink that launches the powerpoint in slideshow mode.
For 2010:
http://site/_layouts/PowerPoint.aspx?PowerPointView=SlideShowView&PresentationId=url
This solved my issue in SharePoint 2010, but now I am upgrading and this solution does not work. Is there an alternative? My error suggests that PowerPoint.aspx does not exist.
