After trying to resolve an issue with orphaned items in a content DB, I successfully detached and reattached the content DB that was having issues. This did not have the desired effect I was after, so I detached it again, moved it into another location on the server, and tried a restore from backup exec. The restore failed after around 30K bytes, and now to my horror, the main web application has disappeared from Central Admin.
I have been toying with the idea of restoring the charepoint config DB, though some articles warn about doing that.
Has anyone run in to this issue and know where to from here?
