HTTP 404 error when attempting to login with live.com id

Using SharePoint 2013 inside Office 365 subscription service.

Invite email goes out just fine.

Link is there and once clicked goes to HTTP 404 error.

If the recipient closes and reopens the invite email, then clicks the embedded link again - he goes right to the site he was invited to.

Any idea of what's going on?
