I have been attempting to install SP 2013 Server on SQL Server 2012 as a development machine. It is not a part of a domain. Chasing down the seemingly endless error messages, I have resolved them one at time with various Management Shell and other hacks, yet seem no closer to having a happy machine. In fact, I am beginning to worry that the installation is so kludgy, it is not a sound development platform.'
My question is not so much about solving indivdual problems as it is this: Is this even worthwhile? Why is it so difficult to do a standalone installation on the full version of SQL Server?
