SharePoint 2016 page/List item stuck at Loading

Hi Guys,

when I clicked into any of the lists, the screen comes up blank. I must click either "items" or "List"  or refresh the page the list to appear correctly. The problem comingsometime not always. Screenshot of this issue is below

Installing and Configuring OfficeWebApps Issues

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to install and configure office web apps in my DEV environemt. I have ran all the commands, Adding features, creating new officeFarms. Everything is done. While running the command New-SPOPIBinding  -ServerName FQDN in SharePoint server it throws me this error.

I even tried the command ending with -AllowHTTP, still no luck. Googled for some answers, some suggested to go to local security settings --> certificate path validation settings --> Network Retrieval.(I see check marks are good)

Checked port 443 is open, checked SP bindinds which were internally https.

Can anyone help me on this.

User Profile Application Script: Objects marked for Deletion

Hello All,

I was running the following script:

$upa = Get-SPServiceApplication Identity
Set-SPProfileServiceApplication $upa -GetNonImportedObjects $true

And the results returned properly, but it was written "Objects marked for deletion"

I am a bit new to this, can some one please explain what does this mean. As some of the accounts returned are service account which we use to login. Are they going to be deleted? If so, how to undo it.

SharePoint Foundation Web Application service is "missing"

the SharePoint Foundation Web Application service is "missing" when I go to the list of Services on Server in Central Admin. It's only a small farm (1 app and 2 web server) with the service running on the web server. 

It must actually be running because the existing SharePoint sites are running, but obviously something's not right.

i run:-
1) Install-SPService
2) psconfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures cmd
3)Install-SPFeature -AllExistingFeatures

but no success

Blank white screen after login prompt on sharepoint site

Greetings all

We have sharepoint site setup which is running fien since a year  now with one WFE  web server, db server, ad  server

We received  a problm recently when we received blank screen after entering login details.

Upon restart of website via IIS  it resumed.

I am still finding what are causes and which event log would help to identify errors?

Need to remove an external server

During the deployment of Sharepoint 2016, I added the smtp service to my WFE server. When I go into Central Administration, I see this server listed twice. Once by Netbios name with all Sharepoint services configured, and once by FQDN which shows Not Configured.  See picture below. When I drill down into the server with the FQDN, I find that the service it provides is "Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Outgoing E-Mail"

Fast forward to today and I have installed some backup software for Sharepoint. This software is failing to backup this particular server. Each server in the farm is listed in the backup console with a Netbios name with the exception of this server. This server is listed by FQDN. The backup software vendor is telling me that this is the issue with the backups. In order to fix this, I added the smtp service to another external server and configured Sharepoint to use this new server. Now in Central Admin, I see this new server with the "Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Outgoing E-Mail" service assigned to it, and my original server with nothing assigned to it.

I want to click the remove server link from Central Admin to remove the FQDN name but I am not sure if this would cause any issue as it is still the WFE server listed in Central Admin with a Netbios Name. How can I remove the FQDN entry from the farm topology without affecting the services running on that server?

New Web Application not creating correctly

I'm having an odd occurrence happen about 50% of the time right now when creating new web applications during my migration from SP2010 to SP2013.

During creating a web application in Central Admin, I can get through the first setup page, then get to the "This shouldn't take long" page and will sit there for 30+ minutes. I end up closing the window and will see that the Web application is there in Central admin, and sometimes the DB will be created, other times not, not a big issue since I'm mounting a sp2010 database to this web application.

What I do notice is that either a IIS site will either not be created at all, or it will be created, but the Virtual Folder is empty. When trying to delete the Web Application through central admin or PowerShell it will hang for hours until the next day when it's finally deleted. During this time I am not able to create any other web applications. It's usually at this time that I can successfully create a new web applications but even that is unreliable.

Has anyone ran into this issue or can suggest any workarounds to get this working? I'm wondering if copying the contents of another web application's virtual directory to the failed web application's virtual directory will be a workaround. I still need to verify if creating a web application through PowerShell gives me the same headache but at the moment I'm currently waiting for a web application to delete.

White Blank on Site at Sharepoint 2013

Hi All

i Have Problem on SharePoint 2013 i  describe My issue and i hope someone to help me

i have to servers 

first server has DC ( One GIG RAM)

Second server has SQL 2012 Express and SharePoint 2013 ( Dynamic Memory Ram Up to 5 Gig ram )

when i created site and put username and password on ixplore  appear white blank

but i open it form DC machine it open 

plz i hope any one to help me

Hi,

with my test user in a SharePoint site when click on the "Popularity trends" link below Site settings receive this message "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you".

I checked the permissions assigned to my test user with my admin user and I found these permissions:

List Permissions All;

Site Permissions these:

  • Manage Permissions  -  Create and change permission levels on the Web site and assign permissions to users and groups.
  • View Web Analytics Data  -  View reports on Web site usage.  
  • Manage Web Site  -  Grants the ability to perform all administration tasks for the Web site as well as manage content.  
  • Add and Customize Pages  -  Add, change, or delete HTML pages or Web Part Pages, and edit the Web site using a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible editor.  
  • Create Groups  -  Create a group of users that can be used anywhere within the site collection.  
  • Browse Directories  -  Enumerate files and folders in a Web site using SharePoint Designer and Web DAV interfaces.  
  • View Pages  -  View pages in a Web site.  
  • Enumerate Permissions  -  Enumerate permissions on the Web site, list, folder, document, or list item.  
  • Browse User Information  -  View information about users of the Web site.  
  • Use Remote Interfaces  -  Use SOAP, Web DAV, the Client Object Model or SharePoint Designer interfaces to access the Web site.  
  • Use Client Integration Features  -  Use features which launch client applications. Without this permission, users will have to work on documents locally and upload their changes.  
  • Open  -  Allows users to open a Web site, list, or folder in order to access items inside that container.  
  • Edit Personal User Information  -  Allows a user to change his or her own user information, such as adding a picture.  

Personal Permissions All.

I read that I must add the "Create subsites" permission but I do not understand the link.

Can I have an explaination?

Checked Out documents, local folder?

Hello -

When a user checks out a document, where is the local copy getting saved?   I assumed it was the
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SharePoint Drafts\ folder, but we have users stating that they are unable to find their local copies anywhere on their PCs.   The default open behavior for the library is set to use the server default (open in the browser).   Would that prevent local copies from getting created?   Our environment is SP 2013 on-prem and Office 365.

User Profile Synchronization Service Won't Start

Good Morning SharePoint Pros, I have a SharePoint 2013 farm with patches up to date

My user profile synchronization service won't start. I have tried all the standard stuff I have found including;

1. Recreate the service application (per this website http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx)
2. Delete all certificates related to the FIM service account
3. Cleared the config cache  (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/939308/error-message-when-you-try-to-modify-or-to-delete-an-alternate-access)
4. Applied the latest update for the SQL Server 2008 Native Client (version 10.53.6560.0)
5. Deleted and re-created the UPSA proxy
6. Made sure my account was in the Farm Admins Group
7. Made sure I had local admin rights on the farm account that starts the UPSS
8. I have checked the "harbar" UPS articles "
9. Manually enter the server and database names in the registry

* HKLM\system\currentcontrolset001\services\FIMservice

* HKLM\system\currentcontrolset002\services\FIMservice

* HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\FIMservice

10.  The user  profile service is started
11. The User profile service app, user profile service app proxy and the user profile service in central admin are started...

Nothing seems to work.

I have also tried manually starting the FIM service and I get the errors below. Any ideas?

SharePoint 2016 - Scheduled PowerShell Task Shows Completed Successfully But Doesn't Run

Hello Community,

I'm running a PowerShell Script with Task Scheduler, the task shows "Completed Successfully" but the script didn't run.  Here's some information about the script:

General:

Name: SPSiteBackup

Run whether user is logged on or not

Triggers:

At 2:45 every day

Actions:

Start a Program

Powershell.exe

Add arguments: -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file D:\Scripts\spBackupSite.ps1

Conditions:

Start the task only if the computer is on AC power

Wake the computer to run this task

Settings:

Allow task to be run on demand

Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed

Stop the task if it runs longer than 2 hours

Please provide guidance and examples.

MySite Cleanup - deleting active users

Hello,

I'm seeing a bizarre issue with UPSA - Mysites Cleanup.  This job had been previously disabled per management request by the previous admin.  A handful of users complained that they see users that are no longer with the company when they go to their org chart on their personal sites.  We ran the following script to determine sites that are marked for deletion:

select * from userprofile_full bDeleted = 1

we found out that there are about 5000 profiles marked for deletion. 

So, they decided to enable the Mysites Cleanup job.  Once we did that, the managers of those users started getting emails.  What they have noticed that - some of the users are actually active employees and they were never disabled.  When I browse to their personal site - it says profile not found. 

Any ideas?  We are in a bit of jam.

providers section was missing in iis 7.5 web site

hi all,

am trying to set up claims - fba in sp 2013. so for thepurpose of adding .net users

 [[Membership provider and Role provider ]]

and  .net roles section using IIS 7.5,

i went to the site in iis and tried to add the same:

but i  saw that Providers was missing from iss 7.5 . in prev version of iis , it was existing after pages and controls section.

but in iis 7.5 its NOT available  [[ my  framework is .net 4.0 ]].

Can anyone point me , how to get that Providers section within ASP.NETsection ?

already added the windows  authentication  security roles  from  server manager.

change farm account password

Hi All,

Due to some security breach I need to change my SharePoint farm account password. can someone please tell me detailed steps to change the farm account password. 

Let me know where all I need to make this changes.

Also what all checks need to be done in order to make sure SharePoint is running after password update. 

request your inputs on this.

Windows Workflow Foundation, part of .Net Framework 3.0, must be installed to use this feature

When we imported designer workflow from one environment to other server we are getting above error when we try to open the workflow in designer 2013

New workflow creation is working fine but not this imported one.

SharePoint Master Page Problem

Hello,

I have a an issue where I have multiple sub sites pointing to the same Masterpage that is holding a reference to clientpeoplepicker.js native SharePoint JavaScript library. In this cluster of sites, I have two sites that are not loading the JavaScript library no matter what I try, even though I am pointing to the exact same Master Page that is holding the reference. I can see that the reference to js library is not there when i go to developer tools in the browser.

Can anybody help me understand this.

SAML Authentication SharePoint 2013 - Accessing User via Groups - no access

Having issues in SAML authentication accessing site with Group accounts,

accessing sharepoint site with an Individual account no issues, but when accessing through Group accounts, SharePoint throws error below

"Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you."
