Process for migrating (not upgrading) from Sharepoint 2013 to 2019

I currently have 2 SharePoint 2013 servers running in a farm. I created a brand new SharePoint 2019 server. From what I understand, if you are NOT doing an in-place upgrade, you have to take the databases from 2013 and attach it to the 2019 server. This seems like way to simple of a solution. There isn't any specifics I can find on what exactly needs to be done. All I can find is high level instructions. I'm very new to SharePoint so I would like to use a step by step doc if possible. Anyone know of such a thing or have any advice?

The installation is missing the file\Sharepoint Assembly

Good day! When you try to install updates for SharePoint 2016, It fails. Is recorded in the log of the error:

ERROR Failed to call GetTypes() d0aabc9e-f5f4-f088-047b-1a50b287a5e0;

ERROR Exception: failed to load file or Assembly ' Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.Core, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" or one of their dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. d0aabc9e-f5f4-f088-047b-1a50b287a5e0;

How to install not accrue to the Assembly on the SharePoint?

Show Power BI reports into SharePoint 2013

Hello,

My organisation requires to show Power BI reports into our SharePoint 2013 On Prem Hosted Intranet Site.

Power BI reports refreshes wevery 15 minutes to using Embeded code is not a solution as it would require a lot of manualy intervention.

I read somewhere that Reporting Service WebPart can also be used for the same.

Please share the link or any information on how & what needs to be configured in SharePoint to show Power BI reports.

SharePoint 2013 MySites/OneDrive Could not Load User Profile

As the title explains, trying to resurrect MySites/OneDrive in my SharePoint 2013 environment.  I'm working to decommission an old server in the farm, and the last item on there is the MySites web application.

Ideally I'd like to move these to a new web application (server) in the same farm, but I want to get it working on the old server first.  I've tried many different troubleshooting steps, one of which was dis-associating/re-associating the user profile service application proxy to the my sites web application, but this didn't alleviate the error.

Here are the below logs when browsing the my site page.

Hi,

On one of the SharePoint 2013 server I am getting below error frequently:

A certificate validation operation took 15001.2785 milliseconds and has exceeded the execution time threshold.  If this continues to occur, it may represent a configuration issue

I checked in Central Admin under Manage trust and can see local certificate is there and I can access internet on server.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Filter workflow worked fine, but at one point it failed:

the item in the workflow could not be Updated, perhaps because one or more columns for this item must contain data of a different type.

When you try to overwrite a workflow through SharePoint Designer when you publish, you receive an error:

(370, 15) the Field cannot be of type void)

Hello -

I'm not sure if restoring just the content database is going to resolve our issue.   In addition to the content database, can I restore just the SP config database and the SP Admin Content database or will I need to also restore all of the service application databases?

thanks

SharePoint online Powershell - Get Site Privacy settngs

Hello All,

I have been using powershell to automate various task in SharePoint Online but there is one seemingly simple task that I haven't trouble with, I want my script to check if the site privacy setting have been set to public or private, I am using a script like this one:

$sites = Get-SPOSite -Limit All

foreach($site in $sites)
{
Write-Host $site.Url
Write-Host $site.SharingCapability
Write-Host $site.IsPublic #This is a placeholder, it doesn't work
}

I don't see this property exposed even if I use the -Detailed parameter, can you let me know how can I get it? I am missing something here?, I have been looking for this for a few days now but I am unable to find it

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Best Regards

Team Site Home page looking drastically different in IE and Google Chrome

I had a web part(Calender in summary view) on the team site which was not visible in Chrome and was visible in Internet Explorer. So in order to fix it, I tried to delete and re-insert the web part. Every time I add the calenders web part the whole page goes blank deleting all my work. Finally, somehow I managed to make the changes and saved it and it looks perfect on IE but in Google Chrome the web parts are weirdly placed and some are not even visible. I am not sure what is causing this but need to fix it ASAP as most of my users would use Chrome.

Pages are not copying to the Target Variable site

Hi,

We have a site collection in SharePoint 2013 and we are trying to enable Multiple Languages(Installed Language packs also) on the site.I have created total 4 variation sites (English - Source site, German, Spanish and France), It is coping the different lists and Pages library to German site but it is not coping the pages library to French and Spanish sites and it is sending the below Notification to the owner of that variation site.

SharePoint encountered an error and was unable to create one or more target list variations.
You can try to create a target variation of a source list by clicking "New List Variation" for a given source site in the "Manage Site Content and Structure" tool.
If you continue to encounter errors, you can find more information in the Variation logs.
You are receiving this e-mail because you are the contact for Spanish (Spain).
Note: Do not reply to this message. It is sent from an unmonitored account.

Please let me know what could be the reason to this issue.

Thanks,

I believe this is a known issue (bug) and wanted to know if it has been fixed in latest patch:

Quick Launch panel and 3 links to libraries: A, B, C

Click A - A library opened and A is highlighted in the panel  (this is correct)

Click B - B library opened but A is still highlighted in the panel

Click C - C library opened but A is still highlighted in the panel

Any one has any update on this issue?

Thanks in Advance!
