Configure Search Across farms in sharepoint 2013

Hi,
I'm setting up a farm to share services across differente farms but for some reason search isn't working. 
I have done everything I thk i should, exchange certs, create trust relationship, publish service, service permissions, connect remote service app, s2s auth etc. I added the remote site url on the crawler, it runs without erros, then I created a result source with remotesharepoint but when I test I get an Unauthorized (401), or when I search on my Enterprise search.
In the consumer farm I'm getting this error on the ULS: 

SPApplicationAuthenticationModule: Error authenticating request, Error details: Header: 3000006;reason="Token contains invalid signature.";category="invalid_client", Body: {"error_description":"Invalid JWT token. Could not resolve issuer token."}

I have changed my PS command according this guy(http://steve.thelineberrys.com/following-sites-across-farms-with-sharepoint-2013-mysites/)  that had the same problem but with the UPS, without any luck.
What am I doing wrong? Does anyone had the same problem? Thks alot

problem with distributed cache

Hi every body

my sharepoint farm works ok before but one day I saw the below error  in CA/review problems and solutions :
One of the cache hosts in the cluster is down.
first this error occurs for one server but after that occurs for the other one
i use this command in powershell :get-cachehost
but raise this error:

get-cachehost : ErrorCode<ERRPS013>:SubStatus<ES0001>:Error: No valid cluster
settings were provided with Use-CacheCluster.

after that i run this command :
use-cachecluster

and after run get-cachehost

this shows 3 servers in farm 2 of then down but one of them up.

i want to fix that some articles say i restart distributed cache in services on server in CA. i go to do that.

in one server(show dawn in result of get-cachehost) stop.after that didn't start with this error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. this error show the correlation id.
i create log file for that correlation id and i can't undrestand the meaning of error these error listed below:
A failure occurred SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance::Provision() , Exception 'System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service AppFabricCachingService on computer '.'. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion     --- End of inner exception stack trace ---     at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.Start(String[] args)     at Microsoft.SharePoint.Win32.SPAdvApi32.StartService(String strServiceName)     at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWindowsServiceInstance.Start()     at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWindowsServiceInstance.Provision(Boolean start)     at Microsoft.SharePoint.DistributedCaching.Utilities.SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance.Provision()' 

An attempt to start/stop instance  of service Distributed Cache on server  [Myserver] did not succeed.  Re-run the action via UI or command line on the specified server. Additional information is below.  Cannot start service AppFabricCachingService on computer '.'

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion


In other server(show down in result of get-cachehost): the service stop but after start it show error starting!!!!
after that i want to stop it again but its state change to stopping !!!!

i confused about these things if these days the only server shows up status became down what should i do ?

please help me.

When is SQL Enterprise required?

Hello,

I'm trying to be 100% sure that I understand when SQL Enterprise needs to be used with SharePoint 2013/2016.

After investigating various online resources, it seems that Power Pivot and High Availability are the only two scenarios where this would come into play. Is that correct?

Access Services 2013 error "We weren't able to load the app's home page. Please let your administrator know about this." when first time open access app.

Hi,

We have error (in GUI) "We weren't able to load the app's home page. Please let your administrator know about this" every first time when we open access web app. After browser refresh everything is ok. In ULS we have:

Why PowerPoint online is not opening big size file in SharePoint online.

SharePoint 2013 On-Permisses smtp server is working fine .. i checked with email.txt file. but sharepoint cannot triggering mail . 

I checked the IIS server also and i have setted the smtp server and smtp port number also. 

 it is fine, but it is not triggering the mail . and also tell how to check mail services in sharepoint 2013 on permisses

Configure Active directory with multiple domain in sharepoint 2013

Hi,

We have sharepoint 2013 installed in our client server.We need to sync sharepoijnt with active directory.The active directory contains 2 domains(example: Domain A and Domain B).Now the requirement is sharepoint should allow users from both domain to access the site.

So please provide step by step configuration for AD with multi domain sync with Sharepoint 2013.

Recovery of SharePoint 2013 FARM

Hi all,

   I have a situation here of recovering a SharePoint 2013 FARM, all that is provided currently is backup of SharePoint FARM databases. What would be the best course of action that I should take as there is no details about version of SP2013, No. of site collections etc.

  Any help would be much appreciated..

Diagnostic Data Provider: Usage Statistics Failed

Hi

The failed status of the timer job "Diagnostic Data Provider: Usage Statistics" is back - with this error message: 

Error MessageSqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM.

It runs every 10 minutes and started failing at 11/30 at 02:10 AM - last time it failed was 11/30 at 06:00 pm   

No entry since 06:00 in the failed jobs list...  

How was it s fixed? 

How to prevent it from failing? 

Why does this happen?

SP Health Analyzer Rule - Run Now button greyed out (only 1 rule)

Hello all,

You probably heard this question more then once. I'm unable to run a health analyzer rule in SharePoint 2013. It's already a long time broken, but never had time to look into it.

What's going on:

In the health analyzer rule definitions there is a rule 'Accounts used by application pools or service identities are in the local machine Administrators group.'. This rule should run automatically, but it doesn't. It also can't be started by hand using the button Run now, that button is greyed out.

  • I run IE11 on the server serving Central Administration, WFE and APP functionality, using the shortcut SharePoint 2013 Central Administration (with elevated privileges)
  • The rule is enabled. Scheduled to run daily, Scope: all servers.
  • It is only this rule. Other rules work fine.
  • We already did various updates to the farm. It is running CU may 2016, and some later security patches. Also ran the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard to update servers/databases.
  • Server is restarted various times, SharePoint timer service is running.
  • This is our test farm. On our Accept and our Production farm this rule works OK.

This rule is broken since we ran it a few times short after each other. Maybe it didn't finish in a proper state or so? It's not alright, but we are expecting the rule to be returning a result in the Health Analyzer.

Hopefully someone can help me out.

loop back was correctly configured 

IIS authentication does not change 

what happened to my sharepoint ?!! everything was work correctly last week !! 

my sharepoint working in MT mode .

Sharepoint online & Sharepoint Designer 2013

Hi, I am receiving an error each time I try to open a SharePoint online site through SharePoint designer 2013.

The error is saying "The Server Could not complete your request". I click on 'Details' and get a repeated "403 Forbidden403 Forbidden403 Forbidden" error message. After I pass this message I get a standard "You do not have permission to open this web site in SharePoint designer"

Here are a list of things that have so far not worked for me:

Using "https://" rather than "http://" - Same issue.

Removing SharePoint Designer, deleting cache in "users>Roaming>SharePoint designer cache"  - Same issue.

Clearing Generic Credentials in Credential Manager - Same issue.

Checking SharePoint site permissions to ensure that " Same issue.

My Admin role grants no restrictions.

I have Nintex trials installed and have used it to build forms on the site, I also have Nintex workflow however current tutorials detailing how to do what I need to do require SharePoint Designer 2013.

Finally SharePoint Developer 2013 has opened sites before, both SharePoint online sites and on prem, but now our company has gone in for the 'real deal' site I can not open this in SharePoint Designer 2013.

Any support would be very much appreciated, I have been trying to find a solution for a number of days now going into a week.

Dreaded "Sorry something went wrong" error when creating or editing a View

Hi,

I was just creating a new list for a project, added some columns and then clicked on All Items to edit it. I got no response for minutes before finally the "Sorry, something went wrong - an unexpected error occurred" screen came up. I tried to create a new view but with the same result.

I've now been to lists and doc libraries across my whole system, different site collections etc and creating or editing lists is broken everywhere.

Effectively anything that calls _layouts/15/editview.aspx or viewtype.aspx errors out. If I just go to http:<server>/_Layouts/15/editview.aspx the error comes up straight away. There is a correlation ID each time but I can't find it in the logs on any of the SP servers.

Struggling to easily google this. Any ideas?

Not able to download excel files in SharePoint 2013

Hi All,

In our on premises SharePoint 2013 environment we allow anonymous users to download documents from wiki section. This all works fine for doc and pdf documents but when an anonymous user clicks a xlsx document then they are given authentication prompt. How can this be fixed to work the same as other  documents? I have tried disabling Client Integration for the web application but to no avail.
