SharePoint NewsFeed app on ios showing couldn't get new data right now, try again later.

It was working find couple of days ago not sure what caused it to fail.

Newsfeeds are working find on the browser, its just the app. We have SP2013 on-premise farm with mysites.

I am having an issue adding a new server to a SharePoint farm.

My current farm is hosted on servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 and I am trying to add new servers running Windows Server 2012 R2 in order to migrate all the services to the new servers.

I have installed SharePoint SP1 on the new server with the same CU as the one in the current servers.

When I try to add the new server to the farm, it is failing because the server is missing Project Server 2013.

When I try to install Project Server 2013, it is failing because the server seems to be missing SharePoint 2013. According to the documentation, SharePoint has to be installed and the server added to a farm before installing Project Server 2013.

Based on this, it seems that I am blocked and can not do more.

Do you know what I am missing?

I don't know what might be wrong but I have tried everything possible I suppose. 

Configuration: 1 App Server SharePoint Standard 2013 + SQL Server. On App Server, I have installed Workflow Manager as well.

Installed Sharepoint Designer 2013 on my laptop. 

Before I was able to publish the workflows, but now it refuses, thwroing me the following error:

System.InvalidOperationException: Operation failed with error Microsoft.Workflow.Client.WorkflowCommunicationException: The request was aborted: The request was canceled. What I have tried so far:

a. Re-installed Workflow, Service Bus, Windows Fabric, Sharepoint Designer... no luck

b. Run the configuration script... -Force enabled... no luck

c. Remove WF Manager, SB, etc... Deleted all WF and sb Databases from SQL, and re-installed all icluding updates... no luck

d. Tried to run services using Farm account, still no luck.

e. All services on the Server are running as well

f. The workflow is checked that it is associated with the site collection.

I don't know what else to try... seems like I am experiencing unique issue here... please help!

We have set up eDiscovery Center. The problem I am facing is that the preservation Hold library is not cleaned up after the holds are removed or the item does not match the eDiscovery Set filter. I read that Information Management Retention Timer Job is responsible to clean up the preservation hold library. But I am not able to find such timer job in Job definition.

Currently I have May 2015 CU installed.

Following timer jobs (Related to eDiscovery) are in running state:

1. eDiscovery In-Place hold Processing (running each 5 minutes)

2. Hold Processing and Reporting (running each 5 minutes)

3. Information Management Policy (running each 5 minutes)

4. Expiration Policy (running each 5 minutes)

Note: I am able to delete the files from preservation hold library manually after the hold is removed.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to install the prerequisites for SharePoint 2013 (on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1)

Like many others, I'm having troubles installing SP 2013 because the AppFabric part of the prerequisites is not installing.  Unlike others, there is really no error in the log.  After it starts installing appfabric, it shows the finish window, with AppFabric: installation error, and reboots machine.

I have tried: 

Altering and then removing the PSModulePath environment variable.

Downloading and running the AppFabric setup using the command window with the appropriate parameters (/i CacheClient,CachingService,CacheAdmin /gac).  Also started up the prerequisite installer from the command line specifying the appfabric setup file.

AppFabric is not and was not installed prior to installation. (it is not available to uninstall).  WIndows update is on, and I have applied all available updates.

Long story short. We have a standard version sharepoint and we want to upgrade some user to Enterprise version. Ive test the user license enforcement with AD host on a windows server 2012 and it works well and met our requirements. 

However, im not allow to upgrade current AD server to windows server 2012. Current AD server is a 2008 server which im unable to have claims-based option. 

My question is, how can I enable user license enforcement with 2008 AD server ?

I see the listing provided at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj841106.aspx that shows the supported sharepoint configurations.  I also see that every single one of them is supported using AlwaysOn Availability Groups in Synchronous Mode.  My confusion is where it says it is Not supported in Async mode.  I have three SQL Servers set up in an AOAG Cluster, Two primaries on the same location use Synchronous, and a third replica at an off-site location using Async, that may have to go live in case of disaster.  What affect does this third system have on the support for my AOAG cluster for a SharePoint 2013 farm?Thanks!

I am using SharePoint 2013 environment and I am getting an error, while clicking on "Browse" button for "Audit Log reports".

This is happening for one site collection and remaining site collections it is working fine.

I deactivated "Reporting" feature for that site collection and activated it back but no luck.

I am getting an error ( screen 2)  while clicking on "Browse" button (Screen1).

I have checked the ULS logs and found that the below errors were captured.

Kindly anyone help me to fix this issue.

SharePoint 2013 - fresh site, with Mysites, and the User Profile Service running.  The UPS is ran under a separate account, and the farm account has securityAdmin rights and directory replication rights.

When I enter Manage User Properties, I get a complete list of properties but no way to edit them, the same happens when I go into User Profile Properties, there is no where to edit the users.  Has anyone seen this before and if so what step have I missed in setting the UPS and MySites Up.

Both Administrator and Farm Admin have Administrator rights to the UPS Application, and it's the Profile User Service that's running at the minute not the Profile User Synchronization Service.

Any help would be appreciated.

Problem 1: I'm trying to install the Workflow Manager CU 1. I tried using Web Platform Installer and the stand alone package. Installation finishes without errors. When using the stand alone package I only get a message with the location of the log file that doesn't seem to have any errors in it.

Also I do not see any errors in the event viewer.

Nevertheles the Commulative Update is not installed. If I open the Web Platform Installer I still see it as something that is not installed.

Problem 2: Why do I care? I do have this problem with Workflow Manager that I was hoping that the CU would solve:

I just wondering why I can't connect the SQLserver to SharePoint farm. I tried to install SP2013 with  "Standalone"  as a  Server type and it's working but when I tried to choose "Complete" and I  want to connect to separate SQL server machine unfortunately it doesn't work  and I got this error . (see below screenshot). Could anyone help me because it's been a week already that's why i need some help or any suggestion to resolve my problem

Here's what's going on: I have a 3 VM test machine; one AD, separate SQL server and SP2013.

1. VMAD01 - firewall will be turnoff

2. SQLSERVER - ad\sql.admin ( had full permission, dbcretor and systemadmin), Firewall; will be turn off and added "SQL server port 1433" and it's based on the forum I've seen. Note: I used  the SQL standard version and SQL express (https://letitknow.wordpress.com/2013/04/04/cannot-connect-to-database-master-at-sql-server-checklist/)

I have successfully migrated my company share point 2007 data to SharePoint 2010. Everything working fine but i'm unable to search old data (migrated data) using search menu in the SharePoint 2010. I have to go through page by page to get the required data. I'm ONLY able to search only data which i created after migrate to SharePoint 2010. I need help to solve this issue. Any help highly welcome and appreciate.

I've been struggling with this for three weeks. When I run a synchronization, the error in the title happens. Even during the short time it didn't happen, the profile database didn't sync to the site collection user lists. MySites didn't pick up any changes.

I've removed and replaced the User Profile Synchronization Service according to the instructions referenced throughout the Internet. Twice. I'm on my 9th User Profile Service Application rebuild. The synchronization account shows that it has Replicate Directory permission. I've set NetBIOSDomainNames Enabled to True. I've restarted the timer job and IIS.

I've been through this set up so many times I can do it in my sleep but I'm missing something. Can anyone think of anything that isn't already everywhere on the Internet? I've read literally dozens of articles, blog posts, forum entries, etc., all saying the same things. All in place in my system. Yet, it still doesn't work. There are some articles about AD and how to set permissions, but it's out of my depth and I (fortunately) do not have write access to AD. I'm driving our sysadmins insane. Please help me!

We just migrated a SharePoint 2010 farm into an existing SharePoint 2013 farm.

The issue is that the 2010 farm had Reporting Services installed (but never used) and the 2013 doesn't have Reporting Services (might later down the track, but not for a while).

So now we have a Missing Feature and a Missing Assembly that need to be removed. I've tried Feature Admin and SharePoint Manager to try and locate them, but no luck. I've also tried a few PowerShell options, but can't seem to find any reference to them. The only place they show up is in Central Administration > Review problems and solutions.

No results come up at all.

I created a Sharepoint 2013 Web Application and it has been working fine until someone accidentally deleted the 'All Users' group from the site collection.  I readded it but now no one can access the site.  Not even the site collection administrators, the web app owners or the Farm administrators. 
I've tried everything I can think of.  In troubleshooting I created another site collection under the problem web app and that doesn't work either.  I created another web app on the same server and it works ok.  All of the user permissions, administrators and owners are the same for both the problem web app and the good web app. 
The web app is using Claims Based Authentication.
All necessary Services are running on the Server. 
I've restarted the server and also did an iisreset.  I can access the contents of the web app via SharePoint Designer but when I try to edit anything I get the 'access denied' message. 

I've been working on this for several days and have run out of ideas.  Except possibly the 'sorry this site hasn't been shared with you' error message is really indicating a different issue such as a timeout issue or storage issue or maybe a caching issue.  I've checked the distributed cache settings and they seem ok.  I'm also getting this same error message with any browser I've tried.   Can anyone help with this?  Thanks.

Is there a possibility to migrate the microfeed of a SharePoint 2013 site to another?

We're currently migrating one SharePoint 2013 site to another site collection. Everything works fine, except the microfeed. Is there a way to do this manually, with PowerShell on another way?

This issue is becoming frequent in sharepoint for us. When ever the end user  try to create variation page for a specific site (e.g swedish) from English language (source site) SharePoint fires below exception in variation logs and relationship between source page and variation page does not establish.

If i try  to delete the error variation page and recreates it , it works sometime.  Please help.

We've setup multiple farms (one main farm, farm A and one sub (small) farm, farm B) and successfully connected them (publishing service applications etc.).

The search service application is also published, search results are perfectly crawled but the search doesn't let us see any of these results. Farm A has search results, but not from Farm B (but it is crawled and shown in the service application). Double checked all the permissions, they're correct. 

How is this possible? The rest of the results work fine.

Hopefully someone can help me with this issue, thanks in advanced!
