But when i try to create a new service application i get the following error which suggests its not be installed correctly or is missing components

We have SharePoint 2013 (Enterprise) with ADFS Authentication in our enterprise. This runs more or less as expected.

Windows User (with Office 2013) are able to open an Office document by clicking in a document library. There are no Problems.

But the Mac users cannot open Office documents in SharePoint. They uses Office for Mac 2016. By clicking an Excel or Word file in a document library, an error occurs: ex. Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'https://<filepath>'. So it is only possible to edit a file by using Office Web apps.

If the User downloads the file, he is able to open the document properly.

Form Authentication is enabled on ADFS. Is there any other Feature /Option to activate in SharePoint, so that our Mac Users are able to work with Office documents?

an year ago when our Workflow Manager 1.0 certificate expired, I had to uninstall , reinstall and register workflow manager to our 2013 SharePoint farm. again it expired now. what is the best solution to have the certificate not expire every year.

Our web site registered with Digi certificate  security but when we browse our web site when home page loads, it showing security alert dialog box and when i check details of certificate it issued to different domain rather than our domain .

in pic below .hostgater.com is not our domain.

Hi, We migrated teamsites from WSS 3.0 to SharePoint 2013. Previously, our users had mapped drives to their teamsites where they could drop files.

Now when they try this OR if they try copying and pasting files from their desktops to SharePoint via Explorer View they are getting the error "Can't read from the source file or disk". 

When they try and do File > save as in the document to their mapped drives they are getting an "A device attached to the system is not functioning" error. 

However, they can drag and drop files into SharePoint. 

I have tried all three scenarios and am experiencing the same as what they are.

Their WebClient service is running. 

Any ideas?

I'm trying to patch my Sharepoint 2013 farm with the following KBs: KB2863892 - KB2878240. 

I run the PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures command after the installation of the KBs.

I get the following error:

What I did so far:

- Test-SPContentDatabase: Found some orphaned sites and the deleted them

- Repair the Content Database:

$database = Get-SPDatabase "Content_Database_Name"
$database.Repair($false);
$database.Update();

No problems found

- Check the Content Database:

USE WSS_CONTENT
GO

ALTER DATABASE WSS_CONTENT SET SINGLE_USER
GO

DBCC CHECKDB ('WSS_CONTENT') WITH NO_INFOMSGS

No problems found

- Check orphan databases on web applications: No Orphan Databases found.

I Don´t  know if these errors are related to these services according to the Upgrade log:

WordServiceApplication

I'm stuck on this! Is the third time I try to patch Sharepoint with the same results!

As per the title, can't get Skype for Business 2016 Presence working in SharePoint 2013. The Icons are there but appear dimmed/greyed out. Both on premise installs. Firstly, not sure if it's actually compatible but should be right? 

I've checked the basics:

• Skype for Business Client Running and logged in
• Tried to add SharePoint site to Trusted and Local Intranet. Disabled Protected Mode.
• Checked Add-ons, NameCtrl Class is Enabled and Skype for Business Browser Helper.
• SharePoint site is running with Standard MasterPage (Seattle)
• Web Application setting for Enable additional actions and Online Status for members is Enabled.

The one thing which is different from other implementations is the fact that SharePoint site and Skype domains are different. SharePoint is : http://portal.domain.co.nz and the username for Skype is username@domain.org.

I have set-up in the SharePoint user profile the sip:username@domain.org in the SIP and Proxy Property to no avail. Does that have to be setup in Active Directory or is it OK to set it up in the SharePoint User Profile (just for testing purposes anyways. If it is the fix, I will update AD).

What else can I try?

Was there something I need to do on the SharePoint server or the Skype Server to get it working?

I recently had to change the location of my Central Admin website (because of third-party licencing issues) - it moved from the App server to the Front-end server.

However, one of my timer jobs still thinks the site is on the App server and I can't see how to change its mind on that:

The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SPAddin.UsageProcessingTimerJob (ID d3bab6e4-42a3-40d8-8cb3-6252ea0ee357) threw an exception. More information is included below.
The Web application at http://APP:9999/PowerPivot Management/c750b7e3-de0b-4ef9-81de-90223c002973/PowerPivot Management Data.xlsx could not be found. 

The 'CentralAdministrationURL' key in the registry is correctly set on both servers.  I can't think of where else this value could be set.

Does any else have any ideas for me?

I am working on sharepoint server 2013 , and i want to show a page which lists all our users, so i did the following steps :-

• I created a new site collection of type "Enterprise Search Center".
• Then i added a new page which have the "People Search" page layout.
• i modify the "People Search" web page, and i change the query, where i mentioned to show all people which have @ in their worker mail as follow:-

We have set up eDiscovery Center. The problem I am facing is that the preservation Hold library is not cleaned up after the holds are removed or the item does not match the eDiscovery Set filter. I read that Information Management Retention Timer Job is responsible to clean up the preservation hold library. But I am not able to find such timer job in Job definition.

Currently I have May 2015 CU installed.

Following timer jobs (Related to eDiscovery) are in running state:

1. eDiscovery In-Place hold Processing (running each 5 minutes)

2. Hold Processing and Reporting (running each 5 minutes)

3. Information Management Policy (running each 5 minutes)

4. Expiration Policy (running each 5 minutes)

Note: I am able to delete the files from preservation hold library manually after the hold is removed.

Any help is appreciated.

I am working on a sharepoint enterprise server 2013 for our customer, and i am a bit confused on what is the current settings for the User Profile managed service.

The current situation is as follow:-

1) when i access the User Profile managed service from the Central admin i found that currently there are only 2 users being synced. and when i search for these 2 users profiles by going to "People >> Manage User Profiles" i found that they are 2 managed accounts.

2) when i check the services on server , i found that currently the user profile service is started, while the syndication  service keeps showing starting .. as follow:-

Now since the User Profile service showed that it only contain 2 user profiles (and those users profiles are managed accounts), so i thought that users info such as email, telephone, department, etc is will be showing up inside sharepoint sites.

But when i access a list inside a sharepoint site, and i click on multiple  usernames inside the "created by" fields inside the list's items, i was redirected to the following page "People and Groups : User Information" , which showed user info (such as email, work phone, department, etc ):-

so i am a bit confused on the current settings; as the User Profile Service showed that it only contains 2 Users Profiles, but at the sametime if  i click on the username link inside the list items, i am able to views the users' info which are defined inside the AD ... which means that the UPSA have sync their info is this correct ?

so my question is if there is any link between the info inside the "People and Groups : User Information" page when clicking on a username and between the number of profiles synced inside the User Profile Service ???

I am currently deploying SharePoint 2013 on multiple servers using Autospinstaller.

2 WFE + 2 APP + Cluster databases

Everything works smoothly when installing on the first server (Central Administration). But as soon you can start installing on the other servers, it detects a site collection already exist, which is true. and halts the script. Doesnt it skip if it detects a site collection exist, rather than me going and deleting it on every server before running it on each servers? Can anyone help?

I just installed and setup SP2013 on server 2012R2.

On SP host, I can logon current user and update About Me info on http:\\my.server.local. However, I have setup shared users of the web page http::\\portal.server.local and they can logon to the web team page and execute items. When I select About Me, I get the can't reach page http:\\my.server.local. I remember from an earlier version of SP that the SP host should be in trusted sites. I have not done that. How do I get resolution to the http:\\my.server.local destination.

NOTES:

• My databases do not require upgrading; they all successfully upgrade with 0 warnings and 0 errors.
• My user profile is configured correctly and syncing with AD flawlessly.
• MySites are displaying correctly with all the information from AD that I've mapped.
• I'm able to navigate to my http://[MySites]/_layouts/15/editprofile.aspx and edit profiles. I just cannot do this within my main portal.

QUESTION:

How do I resolve this issue?

I am using SharePoint 2013 environment and I am getting an error, while clicking on "Browse" button for "Audit Log reports".

This is happening for one site collection and remaining site collections it is working fine.

I deactivated "Reporting" feature for that site collection and activated it back but no luck.

I am getting an error ( screen 2)  while clicking on "Browse" button (Screen1).
