Connecting CRM on-premise to SharePoint Online (MS365)

$

I've been trying to integrate our on-premises CRM with our SharePopint online service following a post from this site -
http://blogs.technet.com/b/anand_nigam/archive/2011/12/04/crm-2011-and-sharepoint-2010-integration-part-1.aspx . I've installed the crmilstcomponent.wsp, but when I attempt to connect CRM to the SP site CRM does not see that the list component is installed. I believe this is an issue caused because I can't run the .ps script provided in the post due to the module it's loading. It loads a SP on premises module, not the SP online module that I have access to and tried to run this command - Get-SPWebApplication which is not available in the online module. I'd like to get this working using the list component as a solution. I've looked at the BCS connections available in SP, but I think that I'd rather connect using the list component as a solution. I also don't know that CRM would use one of these connections in the same manner that it would the .wsp solution. So my question here is how do I get CRM on premises to view and use the crmlistcomponent.wsp that I've installed on my MS365 SharePoint Online site collection? Please let me know if you need any clarification on anything here from me (first post).

Email testing of News/Artical approval in sharepoint 2013

Hi All

I have recently migrated MOSS 2007 to 2013. In old site, there is publish process of News/Article. Once news is published, it send email to all users that are subscribed.

I want to test email send out at approval of sharepoint News/Article. One configuration is Add SMTP from sharepoint administration and it will start working.  But issues is that It will send mail to all users that are subscribed to this news/article approval. Is there any way in database to remove subscription of existing users and it should only send email to defined user.

I checked two tables ImmedSubscription and SchedSubscriptions of Content databse, but I can't get idea which user are subscribed to that list.

Any one who has deep knowledge of DB that how Alerts are configured and stored in database against a Group or User.

How can the response of async Event receivers and/or a feature be improved?

In an ECM implementation of SharePoint 2013, documents are renamed in the ItemCheckedIn event receiver. That process takes anything from less than 1 sec to 3 minutes.  It may even end up as a locked file that takes an hour to unlock, before it is possible to do a new checkin/out that will do a new rename.  We want a more predictable fast rename process.

For instance, is there a setting in Distributed Cache that can be increased to improve the SharePoint response of the ItemCheckedIn event receiver? If so which one?

Or is there any other suggestion from the community?

Hello,

I used to have Technet Standard Online subscription and it has expired since 2014. I have a Sharepoint Server 2013 Enterprise license from Technet. With this license, is there any CALs associated with this or do I need to purchase CALs for this software?

Thank you,

Hello,

today we have installed SharePoint Service Pack 1 for SharePoint Server 2013 inclusive Service Pack 1 for all language packs (we used the new released Service Packs).

Our SharePoint Environment has only one SharePoint Server.

Manylanguage packsareinstalledonthisserver.

If we try to run the configuration wizard through the GUI, then we get the following error:

If we try to run "psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait" then we get also an error:

SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard version 15.0.4569.1503. Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 2012. All rights reserved.

The upgrade command is invalid or a failure has been encountered.
The server farm will not work with missing installs. Add "-cmd installcheck -noinstallcheck" to the command-line to ignore this warning.

The following is missing on :

Hi,

I have the following users..

  • UserA - Hasadministrator rights in SharePoint server (ServerA)
  • UserBSQL - Hasdbcreator & securityadminroles in SQL Instance (SQLInsA)

Completed SharePoint server installation in SharePoint server. I'm facing the below error during SharePoint configuration.

Exception: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'.

Note: SQL server is installed in separate server and we have access only to the instance.

SharePoint rights not granted to Azure AD users

We have SharePoint 2013 installed on-prem and the AD is replicated to Azure AD. We've added the ACS provider to authenticate against the Azure AD and it is working fine.

The problem I am experiencing is that users who are in SharePoint Security groups are not getting the rights they should, now that we're using ACS. When a user logs into the site using their ACS/AAD login (user@domain.com) and they were previously granted site ownership, they no longer see the "cog" menu item for site actions. Also, if we go to the people picker we are not able to add AD groups. With thousands of users it is imperative that we are able to add groups instead of individual users.

Thanks in advanced for your suggestions.

The timer job User Profile Service Application - Feed Cache Repopulation job fails two/three times a day but succeeds mostly

The timer job runs every 5 minutes. The error is also logged in the Event Viewer, Event ID 6398.Description: The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.LMTRepopulationJob

The error appears with two kind of messages:

  • Unexpected exception in FeedCacheService.IsRepopulationNeeded: Connection to the server terminated, check if the cache host(s) is running.
  • Unexpected exception in FeedCacheService.IsRepopulationNeeded: Cache cluster is down, restart the cache cluster and Retry,Failed timer jobs occur one or more times in a day, expected that timer job succeeds all the time.
The issue is present since the configuration of the SharePoint Farms and appears atleast twice every day in all Sharepoint 2013 farms.

Sharepoint 2013 permissions issue

Hi Guys,

I'm having an issue with regular users receiving the "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you message" when they are part of the Visitors group. If I add them to the Members group they can access the page fine, but they then have edit permissions to the entire site (which I don't want). I know this should work because I have another site collection that is setup like this and users can view the page fine, yet they don't have edit permissions.

I did edit the Master Page slightly, but even with that I reset it back to site definition with no change. I've used a PowerShell script to reset permissions on all subsites and lists.

I've checked all the permissions for the site collection and have them all inheriting from the parent which is setup correctly. I've tried creating a permission policy under Central Administration with the same results.

I'm kind of at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven
