In SharePoint 2013, is it possible to have more then one index files? I want to have separate index for one of my web application due to highly sensitive contents. What are other approaches other then creating a new Search service application ? Thoughts? Help?

I have enabled incoming email in a large multi-web application farm running SharePoint 2013 SP1 and the Feb 2015/March 2015 CUs that were pushed down in Windows Updates. It works just fine for two web applications, but it will not work for one particular web application. I see the email land in the /drop folder. If I remove the email address from the library in http://nonworkingapp web application and use it on a library in a http://working web application, then the email is processed successfully. Conversely, if I take an address from a library in http://working and move it to a library inhttp://nonworkingapp it does not work. I've tried multiple site collections on http://nonworkingapp. This rules out any SMTP issues, etc. and means the issue is bound to this web application. Permissions are the same between the "non-working" and "working" locations: domain users are members on the site, and the library inherits permissions from the site. The App Pool and Timer Service accounts have rights to the folder and to the library.
The error in the ULS log is the typical error processing message, but it gives no additional information even though I have enabled Verbose logging.
The Incoming E-Mail service has completed a batch. The elapsed time was 00:00: 00.0156294. The service processed 2 message(s) in total. Errors occurred processing 2 message(s): Message ID: Message ID:
Typically, you see "alias not found" or some permissions or quota issue here, but this issue is NOT the same as those. In this case NO additional information is provided in ULS.
Edit: running stsadm.exe -o refreshdms -url http://one/failing/site fixed some similar issues where "Unknown alias" was reported even though the list did have an alias (see here:http://blogs.technet.com/b/vinitt/archive/2009/07/15/e-mail-enabled-list-alias-information-is-not-synchronized-between-configuration-database-and-content-database.aspx). This did not fix the issue for the case mentioned above.
What could possibly be the issue preventing incoming email from working on this one web application?
When our claims based SharePoint web application cannot authenticate users (for whatever reason, e.g cannot get a Kerberos ticket), they are presented with a blank white page with the text "401 Unauthorized".
How and where can I can customise this page?
I can find lots of info on the 404 (accessed denied) page, but not this one specially.
Any ideas?

I was hoping for some advice. We are planning the upgrade our SP 2010 to SP 2013. We have one Site Collection whose DB is nearing 180GB and growing so we are going to "split" it up into four.
So, the logical thing would be to export sites/subsites and import them into their own site collection. What I have found though is that when doing this, the workflow history is not kept - we need the workflow history so this is not an option.
My other thought was to restore the DB, move the contents to a new Content DB, delete out of there what I don't want and do that four times. That could work but then I get the problem of the URL. I'm assuming by restoring this same DB four times it will be using the same URL?
So, if anybody knows of a tool out there that can do an export/import that will keep the workflow history that would be perfect (it would have to be free...) - or, how can I restore the DB's to new URL/Managed Paths? Or maybe you have a better solution? Any help would be appreciated.

I,m new to SharePoint, learning it. I've installed SharePoint 2010 in my home lab, and installed it on new VM, with SQL on another VM. When I try to create SharePoint Farm, and give the path of the DB server which is on another SQL Server vm, it didn't connect to it. I configured SQL for SharePoint with all the requirements. But couldn't able create Farm. It only says don' t able to locate DB server and nothing else.
I tried and checked all the firewall rules and policies, and everything is as it should be.
Also I tried to install SP2013, but when ran SP Pre-requisite installer, it is not running, gives error of IIS/Application Server not configured, and App Fabbric not configured, even after installing pre-requisite manually.
Any suggestion?

We have changed the passwords for the service accounts inside our active directory. So I changed the application pool identify passwords accordingly. Then I went to “Central administration >> Security >> General Security >> Configure managed accounts”, I saw that the “last password change” column was changed accordingly to match today date as follow:-
So I though that I do not need to manually change the manage accounts passwords inside central administration, but when I try viewing the search service's content source I got the following error:-

So I went back to the managed accounts inside CA, I edit it , then I chose to “change password now >> Use existing password” and I entered the new password there as follow:-
so now I can access the search service’s content source.
So can anyone advice on this , I mean do I need to manually changed the SP managed account password , whenever we change the service account password inside active directory? and why the SP did not change the password accordingly when we changed it on active directory,,, I mean the “last password change” column was changed to today date but seems the password inside SP did not change ,, or not sure what happened ?.

upload the workflow templaet wsp file in the solutions gallery and activate the same [ import files option in SP D ]
right click on the wf and click edit the workflow
click on the ribbon in SP D's "publish the wf globally"
associate the WF to "mycustomcontenttype"

When installing Search Service Application I get the following error:
Errors were encountered during the configuration of the Search Service Application.
Kerberos is sometimes referred to as Negotiate, Negotiate(Kerberos) etc.
On WS2012 if using Powershell to install Central Administration can you install Sharepoint
2013 Server specifying Kerberos authentication?
Note: I used the following but not sure if this is the problem Search Service Application is
encountering error and can't be created:

When uploading a visio diagram into one of our sharepoint document libraries we then get a 'The Server failed to process the Request' error when we then try and view the document in the Web Browser. Does anyone know how to fix this?

We have a 'Popular Links' section in our Top Link Bar for our intranet site that contains a list of frequently used links. Since most of these links navigate to sites outside of SharePoint, we would like these to open in a new tab or window when clicked.
I've enabled the 'Open Link in New Window' option under Site Navigation Settings for each link, however when a user clicks the links that have had this option enabled the content is still loaded in the current tab.
Is this the correct set of steps to enable this content, or is there a better way to accomplish this that actually works?

If the User Profile Service syncs an OU in Active Directory and that OU contains 10 people's accounts - if only 5 of those people in that OU have been granted rights to a SharePoint site collection in that farm, is that 10 accounts or 5 accounts that are subject to licensing?

I make changes in Active Security groups that SharePoint uses, but when I add users to the AD security groups, SharePoint does not see them. I see this article, but its for SharePoint 2007. I like to set properties, so SharePoint can pickup changes quicker in AD.
