1.) I am a sharePoint developer with standalone installation knowledge.
I have two laptops, I want to set up a SharePoint 2013 farm where one laptop runs domain controller and runs sql server.
and another laptop runs SharePoint 2013. I have a dlink router .
1.) How to achieve this with respect to dns entries, setting up AD , Domain controller and adding my system to domain controller.

Farm consist of 1 server, Distributed Cache is UP (Use-CacheCluster and Get-CacheHost returns UP status). Search is running, UPS is running and sync with AD works.
Distributed Cache service account is assigned Full Controll to UPS service and MySite DB.
I also run Update-SPRepopulateMicroblogLMTCache without any error, tried to restart cache cluster, everything I was able to find on the Net.
Has anyone solved this problem?

I´ve been trying to use the Machine Translation Service to automatically translate some content pages, but throws some errors however, if I get to the Translation Status section, there are no other information related to this.
In the event viewer shows a lot of this messages in the System section:
Application popup: TranslationServicesWorker.exe - System Warning : Unknown Hard Error
No further information.
I'm using a dev environment farm, all roles in one server.

Just installed Sharepot 2013. I am trying to get some community feed back whether to use SharePoint 2013 Farm configuration wizard or setup the services using Powershell.

1. Can the wizard install services be edit or changed later manually such as service account?

Hi every body.
I have installed and configured sharepoint2013 and excel services on a single server.
I accrued a funny issue and it's that when I upload a excel file even empty file that has tow sheets, all user else system account can not switch between excel sheets and all of them are disabled.
But when I loging with system account every things works well.I guessed maybe is related to permission so I added users to "Site Collection Administrators" in site setting but unfortunately it doesn't work yet.
Please if you have any idea for this Issue guide me to resolve it.

I am using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with the March CU.
I created a project site template with libraries, lists and workflows and saved it as a template with content. When I try to create a new site using this template, I get the error pasted at the bottom.
I was using SharePoint designer workflow custom activities created in VS2012. I uninstalled those and decided to call a web service directly from SharePoint designer. The workflows work fine inside of the site which I want to create a project template from. When creating a new site from the template, SharePoint complains about a missing workflow XAML feature.
Do I have some leftover references to the custom features? Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

the solution i saw on the net was to allow all verbs on iis or rather still add <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> to httphandlers on the web config.

i already did these
1-Elevated App Permission for workflow
2-My user profile service are working fine
3-the user who initiates the workflow is not a system account and is member of sharepoint group member
4-i have installed service pack 1 for sharepoint 2013 still the same above error

In a SharePoint 2013 farm with a single server that includes PowerPivot components, application pools intermittently hang. This happens for the Central administration web app, the actual PowerPivot web app and a new web app I created for testing purposes. In the test web app, it does not seem to matter if I browse to a PowerPivot site collection or not.
I can detect the hang by looking at "Worker processes" in IIS or by using Resource monitor and checking for wait chains.
The hang usually happens in the SPWindowsClaimsAuthentication module (request goes out, no response comes in). I currently replicate it be performing application pool recycles (or stop/start cycles). It takes a different amount of cycles each time, but usually after a few, the hang occurs. Another cycle, and it disappears.
It seems that if the PowerPivot service application is not associated with the web app, this does not happen. All other aspects of the PowerPivot system work great as long as the application pool is not hang.
I tried to use Windbg, but the symbols I installed (I have no internet inside the prganization) do not seem to be compatible even though I downloaded the correct ones (the server is Windows 2008 R2 SP1, the web apps are all 64 bit). Either way, SOSEX finds no deadlocks and SOS find no locks.
The last thing I found is that if I change the SPWindowsClaimsAuthentication HttpModule configuration to include a precondition="managedHandler", it seems to make the issue go away in the test web app.

I have a list workflow which starts automatically when creating an item to generate a serial number. But when any user create a new item, the workflow suspend with the following details, and only the users with "Full Control" permissions can make the workflow work:

Actually I have migrated search services from one server to another server in that server I have created new custom user profile property but it is not appearing in search service crawled property any one please help me out in this.

I upgraded SharePoint 2013 from 2010. After up-Gradation my existing web-parts are no more working.
I also tried after upgrading web part for 15 hive but still same issue.

I need to configure a local install of sharepoint 2013 so that users can access it internally and externally using windows/AD authentication. The internal and external addresses are different.
I have bound an external ip to the domain for external access.
I have created Alternate Access mapping, and bound the host header but I get a file not found message for external access.
Have I missed something here? why the error and how can it be fixed. Step by step process would be appreciated.

i am setting up the site mail box feature. so, i created the web application and configured on the root. and i am able to see the Mailbox on the quick launch and when i clicked my outlook web app is opened and i saw my outlook e-mails.
