I am unable to register Work Flow Manager with SP Sites. I have two sites (Different Site Collections). Everything is setup correctly. Here is what I am using to get SP site register but having to luck
Register-SPWorkflowService –SPSite http://intranet–WorkflowHostUri "http://intranet.trp.com:12291" –AllowOAuthHttp
I also tried server name.
Register-SPWorkflowService –SPSite http://trpwfe1–WorkflowHostUri "http://trpwfe1.trp.com:12291" –AllowOAuthHttp
Here is the error message
Register-SPworkflowService : The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
Windows 2012 Server x64, SharePoint 2013, SQL 2012
Windows Server 2012 R2 running on Hyper-V VM. File services, App server & IIS roles installed
SQL Server 2012 installed
Tried:
kb 2765260 method 1 which is kb 2771431 which ends with "not applicable to computer"
kb 2765260 method 2 with no effect (this was power shell commands for PC's connected to the internet)
One post suggested "aspnet_regii - enable -i" but my OS doesn't have aspnet_regii on it (not sure what that implies)
One post suggested ServerManagerCmd.exe needed to be installed which sounds true as shown below (but where do I find this exe?)
There are some errors in the log file, I only included the portions where the errors are listed. The initial lines are at the top of the log file, then I skipped to the section where the other errors were. I can include the whole log if it becomes necessary.

I'm presuming the first 2 errors are OK and just indicate optional startup modes for prerequisiteinstaller.exe
The 2nd set of errors seems more serious. I don't see ServerManagerCmd.exe on my PC that's listed in the error
I don't understand the last error which I'm supposing triggered the listed error even though there are other errors in the log.
Many of the existing posts don't match the configuration I'm using, and the ones that do match didn't seem to provide a usable answer. Any help is appreciated. Do these problems exist using Sever 2012 Standard? I will try that, but would like to resolve the issue here with R2.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Alan
We have a multi-tenant SharePoint Foundation 2013 Farm.
Here we have an issue like when we restore a site collection backup collected from similar SPF2013 Farm (Same Version,Same schema) on host site collection, This host site collection gets deleted after some time.
Issue seen across complete farm, Same issue on new web application/new site collection with new content database
Log shows below details
Error in log Unknown SPRequest error occurred. More information: 0x80070003Can someone help on this?
I would like to have the ability for the user to edit the property 'Status Message'. In the properties it says that it should be available in the details section however I am not seeing it there. Does anyone know if I might have something set incorrectly or is this expected behavior.

This is actually for SharePoint 2013
I know that we can choose what events to record and what timer jobs are enabled and at what time they are activated, but can we go deeper and change the scope, or limit the amount, of information provided in each event or timer job that will be sent to the logs?
I've gone through technet, but the closest I have come to regarding changes to the amount of information gathered is diagnostic logging. And that is not what I am looking for at this time.
Search box is no available on any site page.
I've tried to create a new site as search server (Enterprise tag template) and when I try to open the search created site I get the following error.
Sorry, something went wrong

I've seen more than one issue similar to this in this forum.Thanks in Advanced
PSConfigUI.exe does not open and the psconfig.exe gives the message that only one copy can be run.
Running the CheckPSConfigUI program returns true but there is nothing in task manager.
I have checked the other threads and do not have CISCO or AV software installed.
I cannot find any errors in logs (maybe i don't know the correct log).
Can I manually upgrade the databases? If so is there a script to do this?
Thanks for looking.

Hi,
I am trying to install SharePoint 2013 on Windows 2008 R2. I have database MS SQL Server 2012 on the same machine itself. My SharePoint Preinstaller fails at installing Application server and Web server roles.. Even though the roles get created, they don't complete because ASP.Net activation fails. Here is my log:

Hi,
We have SharePoint 2013 installed the company has yet not made a decision about User Profile Service Application.
Question: - By default when we click on the user account, we see the account, name and any other information which has been updated on the Active Directory, in our case the email address is not being displayed.
What could be the reason, what steps could be taken to troubleshoot the issue?
Please advice

Greetings,
I would like to conditionally display/hide a field in a library edit/view form. I would like to base the condition on whether or not a user is a member of a SharePoint Security Group.
If Current User Is a Member of "This SharePoint Security Group", Display the Column
Else Hide the Column
Does anyone know the best way to accomplish this?
Thank you!
We would like to use same 443 port on different web applications on same server for https sharepoint sites.
How can we easily do that. We already have one web app with one site collection running for one client with https and wild card certificate. Now we would like to create another web app for another client with same 443 port and https.

I'm using SharePoint 2013 and we're looking to implement RBS (BLOB) storage. This is something new to me so I've been reading about it and I've seen articles that use tools for this such thing such as tools from DocAve and other tools as well as Database configurations, etc. To get RBS to work from a SharePoint 2013 farm/environment, is there anything from the SharePoint side that has to be done, or is it truly at the database level? I create a document center site collection that the users will upload and view the docs in, however, is there anything that has to be done at the SharePoint level for this to work?
Hi,
In my farm i have 2 wfe and 2 app server. 2 WFEs are running distributed cache while one app server is running distributed cache one is not even in cluster. WFE 1 , WFE 2 , APPSRV1 - has distriubted cache
When i run get-cache host , i see all server in the list with APPSRV as down..is it normal? If i do start cache host with this server name it says server is not even in cache cluster. So why is it shown as down ? I think it should not show at all. The question for this is i have one web part that works most of the time but gives error another 50% of time. Errors i get is
Unable to write SPDistributedCache call usage entry.
Getting Error Message for Exception Microsoft.SharePoint.UserCode.SPUserCodeExecutionPipelineFailedException: Sandboxed code execution request failed. ---> System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Server encountered an internal error. For more information, turn off customErrors in the server's .config file. Server stack trace: Exception rethrownsachin
Hello everybody,
Based on SharePoint Health Analyzer in central administration site I need to change Distributed Cached Service Account in SharePoint servers.
I’m trying to change Distributed Cache service account on our Test SharePoint farm but get below error message when it gets to deploy command:
I followed Microsoft article here to change the account : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219613.aspx#changesvcacct
It seems running this command break distributed cache on the server and remove it from the farm cache cluster . There are error number 1000 and 1026 in Event Viewer.
And if I try to run the command for the second time I get this error message:
By running below powershell commands I recreated and fixed the cluster but still looking for solution to change the service account of DC:
1.On all servers in the farm, run the following command:
Remove-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance
2.Create a PowerShell file called DS.ps1. Put the following code into it:
$SPFarm = Get-SPFarm
$cacheClusterName = "SPDistributedCacheCluster_" + $SPFarm.Id.ToString()
$cacheClusterManager = [Microsoft.SharePoint.DistributedCaching.Utilities.SPDistributedCacheClusterInfoManager]::Local
$cacheClusterInfo = $cacheClusterManager.GetSPDistributedCacheClusterInfo($cacheClusterName);
$instanceName ="SPDistributedCacheService Name=AppFabricCachingService"
$serviceInstance = Get-SPServiceInstance | ? {($_.Service.Tostring()) -eq $instanceName -and ($_.Server.Name) -eq $env:computername}
if([System.String]::IsNullOrEmpty($cacheClusterInfo.CacheHostsInfoCollection))
{
#here's the key. we can't provision, unprovision, start, or stop a Cache Service because we still have a Cache Service that have no server attached
$serviceInstance.Delete()
Add-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance
$cacheClusterInfo.CacheHostsInfoCollection
}
3.Run DS.ps1 on all SharePoint servers. You will need to run it using the account with SharePoint Shell Administrator access. Also, make sure you run the DS.ps1 file on C:\ using .\ in front of name.
4.Now, run the following PowerShell command on all SharePoint servers:
Add-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance
Our environment has two web front end and one application server and SharePoint version is: 15.0.4481.1005
My question is do we really need to change Distributed Cache Service account? If so, why this issue happens while I try t do so and what is the fix for this problem?
Thanks,
Hello,
I am editing the OOB page. Inserting page image to it. Selecting that image to change the renditions from Top ribbon bar if I click on "Edit Renditions" then it is giving "Unexpected error occur". If I goto logs then description is as below. Below issue is reproducible only for subsite not rootsite.
Reason why it is working on rootside and not in subsite is :
On root side I gave path of image as same siteand on subsite I am giving parent site's image url.
so conclusion I found that Edit Renditions supports only current site image path.
for subsite "publishing" feature is enabled as required for renditions.

I am running SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and reside in the UK where we use it for our intranet.
I have created an Excel Services service application and then a web application and a site collection beneath it with a BI site.
When I load up the Excel Services Sample Workbook and click on the slicers everything works fine. However, when I change the Regional Settings of the BI site from English(United States) to English(United Kingdom) and repeat the process I get the error: "We don't know what happened, but something went wrong"
This error also occurs when I load Excel spread sheets containing PowerPivot slicers.
Checking the ULS log there are a number of messages for the correlation ID, the most significant is this one:
ExcelService.PostProcessRequest: The server encountered a very serious error and will continue to function. Please log this as a bug. Exception was: System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException (0x80004005): External component has thrown an exception.
at Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.CalculationServer.ExcelServiceBase.PostProcessRequest(EcsCommandResult result, Exception ex) System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException (0x80004005): External component has thrown an exception.

If I then change the Regional Settings of the BI site back to English(United States) the problem goes away, although obviously currency and dates in the reports are US and not UK.
I have found a couple of articles that refer to missing file directories for the 2057 locale id but they haven't been any help (they refer to a different problem but I thought it might be the same principle) - 2057 is, I believe, the locale id for United Kingdom.
Does anyone have a clue how to address this issue?
I've installed and configure the workflow manager with WF CU1 and Service bus CU 1 - but still I can't get it to Work...
(probably because I'm missing the register part...:) ..)
I don't have any DNS entry for the Workflow site - I just have this in IIS:
I should use this to register... according to various articles:
Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite 'http://mySharepointDNSNAME/' -WorkflowHostUri 'http://WhatToTypeHere:12291'
Also - does the WF manager needs do be installed on both 2 servers?
one acts as WFE and the other acts as APP server?
anyone?
