Can't get "Member sites" to sync

$

Hi,

In a fresh out of the box Sharepoint 2013 (patched with October 2013 CU, build 15.0.4551.1001) all set up with the wizard after fresh install, I can't get the member sites to show. The page MyMemberships.aspx only shows distribution groups. I'm running on a Windows 2012 server.

The user Profile Sync service is all set up with the wizard and manually connected with our AD, full sync works fine. MySite set up fine with the wizard and working.
There is only one app set up by the wizard and I have made my user a member of the "Member"-group which is set as the default group.

I have run the "User Profile to SharePoint Full Synchronization"-synchronization timer jobb.
I have made sure the Policies in User Profile Sync is set to enabled for both sites and distribution groups.
There are no deleted content database involved since this is out of the box set up by the built in wizard.
Because this is a dev server I have fully reinstalled the server - same result.
I have also tried setting up a new app with new site collection and made myself member of the member-group.

When checking the SQL database with the statement:
"select MemberGroup.Id,MemberGroup.DisplayName,MemberGroup.AllWebsSynchID from MemberGroup inner join UserMemberships on UserMemberships.MemberGroupId = MemberGroup.Id where UserMemberships.RecordId = 'XXXX';"
(where XXXX is my users recordid)
I get all the distribution-lists but no site listed at all.

What did I miss? Or is the functionality gone in 2013? Having Member Sites synced to our users desktops is a vital function for us that our users demand since they are so used to working like that.

Kind regards

No activities in feed

I'm having trouble getting anything to show up in users' activity feeds. Each users' Newsfeed settings are set to share everything possible in the feed. Additionally I've verified that the Activity Feed timer job is enabled, has run, and completed successfully. However, nothing shows up in any users activity feed after editing a profile, following someone, etc etc.

I've also verified that in the User Profile Service App that MySite newsfeeds are actually enabled.

What's the issue here?

cannot manage Promoted Sites

Hello,

I've got the problem that I receive the error "Your search encountered an error. If the problem persists, contact the portal site administrator." when I want to manage the Promoted Sites in the Central Admin.

I can create New Links, which are getting promoted as desired. But I can't see and therefore I can't delete any existing promoted sites.

Probably there were deleted the target audience which was in use for a promoted site as it is described in this article:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/12edcfb3-a71a-449b-9b95-43f94cb53fe1/promoted-sites-sharepoint-2013?forum=sharepointadmin#22572cac-88df-496b-8e19-3eb8b4a27b0e

Can someone tell me, how to use PowerShell to manage/list the Promoted Sites with the used targed audiences?

I've found the following article how to add Promoted Sites with PowerShell but I'm not able to list the Sites.

http://prasadtech2.blogspot.it/2013/07/sharepoint-2013-how-to-add-promoted.html

Thanks for help,

Cannot install Workflow Manager - Service Bus Farm

Hello,

i cannot setup the Workflow Manager 1.0 - Service Bus Farm Component on my 2012 Server where sharepoint 2013 is installed.

Within my test Environment, anything went smooth, but on Production, it wont work.

http://tinypic.com/r/27zaddl/5

i am logged in as domain admin / sharepoint admin,

want to user a domain user account who also runs the mssql instances (mssql@)

i already installed ServiceBus-KB2799752-x64-EN

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2799752

i already put my domain admin account and said mssql@ User Account under "wellknownobject" cn=users

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsazure/en-US/3d803e15-606a-4f06-96fe-97c23ad3c01a/service-bus-for-windows-server-throws-exception-on-farm-configuration-wizard-and-powershell?forum=servbus

sadly, my sql Server is in german, so i got german error codes (wtf?) it would translate to:

An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify that each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the alias to a valid name.

on the Database Server, i see the DB being created, put into "single user mode" if i am not mistaken, and it vanishes afterwards again.

Can the SQL Server be too old ? Its Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Service Pack 1, 10.50.2550.0 (2008 R2 SP1 + MS12-070 Fix (KB 2716440)) Standard Edition

Hi,

I have resolved the processing error (n°401) on my workflow 2013 cause the UPS was not retrieved me all the users profiles.

Now i have got the Error 500 when the WF 2013 trie to be executed. It was "canceled" again. The ULS log files contains this error :

"/test/workflow/_vti_bin/client.svc/web/lists/getbyid(guid'b6f9bea7-7096-4d5c-a05c-4cadea172cd2')" Object reference not set to an instance...

But the workflow 2010 was fine !

Central Admin Showing Blank Page after installation on domain controller

Hi All,

I installed SharePoint 2013 on windows Server 2012 configured as domain controller. The installation and configuration wizard was smooth. I know it is not supported to install SharePoint 2013 on domain controller for production use but you can do the same for development purpose.

After the setup is complete when I open central admin site, it shows blank page.

No helpful logs generated.

Please guide me on this issue.

Thanks,

Rahul Babar

Differences between SharePoint 2007 and 2013 security options?

Hi,

We just did a test upgrade from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2013 by copying over the content database. One thing we are noticing is that users who had permissions to upload to a document library no longer have that option in 2013. Is there a difference between the 2007 and 2013 "contribute" permission?

What can I do to fix this issue?

thanks,

Site mailbox/naming/random DNS associated with Office/365 Enterprise account/cannot change

I have six DNS names associated with my O365/Wave15/Enterprise account.

When I create sharepoint sitemailbox the @DNS address used is always the first DNS I registered when I opened the account.

The first DNS was a trial rubbish account. How can I get another DNS name chosen for new site mailboxes?

Cannot Run PSConfigui.exe or PSConfig.exe

PSConfigUI.exe does not open and the  psconfig.exe gives the message that only one copy can be run.

Running the CheckPSConfigUI program returns true but there is nothing in task manager.

I have checked the other threads and do not have CISCO or AV software installed.

I cannot find any errors in logs (maybe i don't know the correct log).

Can I manually upgrade the databases? If so is there a script to do this?

Thanks for looking.

I would like to have the ability for the user to edit the property 'Status Message'.  In the properties it says that it should be available in the details section however I am not seeing it there.  Does anyone know if I might have something set incorrectly or is this expected behavior.

Sharepoint 2013 + Windows Server 2012 as reverse proxy

$
0
0

Hello All -

I'd like to ask if anyone has any experience with the new Windows Server 2012 (reverse) proxy, in providing a single sign-on service to Sharepoint 2013.

Scenario:

My client has a Sharepoint 2013 with 3 web applications (portal, teamsites, mysites). All three URLs are available externally via HTTPS only. All clients have AD credentials (no requirement for claims based authentication), although this includes 3 domains in two different forests (trusts exist). Everything is already configured to allow clients access from domain-joined devices.

My client would like mobile devices (not domain-joined) to be able to access the three web applications without repeated logon prompts. Browser default settings must be used, they do not want to instruct people to perform any configuration on their mobile device - it all has to work "out of the box" from the client side. Clients will be using iPads and iPhones with Safari, Windows Phones, Androids etc.

I'm considering proposing the use of a reverse-proxy, and rather than using the now depracated Forefront TMG or probably soon-to-be depracated UAG, I would like to jump straight in to the new and very cool looking Windows 2012 proxy server.

It's my understanding that this will provide a single sign-on service in this scenario. I'm unsure whether an ADFS server is also required even for pass-through, the information available is unclear, and also whether any special configuration is required to a domain controller (DCs in the environment are all 2008R2, with 2008R2 functional level).

I would appreciate it if anyone could give an overview or point me in the direction of some accurate documentation regarding all of the above. Most importantly, if any of my assumptions above seem incorrect, please let me know.

Thank you!

SharePoint 2013 public facing site doesn't not allow to view lists

All,

I have couple of questions regarding Sp2013 internet facing site. I am using Windows Azure environment with my own AD, DNS, WFE and of course SQL. please visit http://sharepointpath.com to see what i am trying to achieve.

My questions are as below:

1) I am unable to access any of the lists for blog and team sites, when I click on any of the links it prompts for authentication. Web application is allowed anonymous access with "Entire site" not just lists and libraries.

2) blog site and team site doesn't inhering master page from parent. I have changed master page setting to inherit on all sub sites, but doesn't appears to be working as expected.

3) I am unable to access site using "www" CNAMe www.sharepoinpath.com

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

What could be the reason?
