SharePoint 2013 Office web app server change SSL certificate change to Wild Card

We have SharePoint 2013 Farm

We need to change the SSL certificate of Office webapp server to Wildcard certificate can you help me how i need to change the certificate do i need change anything in SharePoint farms as we have 2 front end servers.

will there be any difference if we use Wild card certificate instead of SSL as we have SSL certificate like office.abc.com we need to change Wildcard certificate *.abc.com please let me know what are all the steps we need to follow this is the first time iam installing certificate.

Inlcude CSOM dlls with the installer

Hi,

We have a SharePoint code which use CSOM dlls to communicate with SharePoint Online.

We are not sure if its ok to include these dlls as a part of our installer.

Can anyone guide if its ok to include these dlls as part of installer.

During PSConfig Run, Upgrade Search Admin Database Failed for SharePoint 2013

Hello,

SharePoint October 2019 CU installed successfully in SharePoint 2013 servers, but when I try to run PS Config command, we are getting error “failed to upgrade at Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPDatabaseSequence.Upgrade().”

As per the ULS logs, Issue is related with Search service application database upgrade.

“Upgrade [SearchAdminDatabase Name=Search_Service_Application_DB_481323e51…] failed.” Please let us know if you have any feedback.

Exception: Target string size is too small to represent the XML instance.

Error in brief:

Hello,

I want to know, for a SiteCollection, include also Subsites, the LastModifiedDate for every lists and libraries. It should display site collection, sub site, list , doc library along with last modified date.

Please share any powershell script if anybody have it.

Workflow Manager certificates expired

I'm having a major problem with the workflow manager.  The certificates have expired so now nothing works.  Ihave read here that once the certificates have expired then the only fix is to uninstall the workflow manager and service bus and re-install them.

I have tried uninstalling Workflow Manager through control panel and it says that it is part of a farm and that I need to remove if from the farm to uninstall the workflow manager.  However, I can't remove it from the farm because I can't start the workflow manager configuration.

Has anyone successfully removed workflow manager once the certificates have expired?  Is there a better way to get the workflow manager server going again?

How to sync in variations for custom lists with folders in sharepoint 2013?

In SP2013, I have a custom list with folders and the folders have items. When I manually push it for sync to the other site, the list comes and all the item on the root level comes. But I noticed empty folders come too, but folders (that have child items) don't come through. However on the "view site content" I can see the item count is missing the folder (didn't include it)...

Somehow SP knows the data exists, but I don't see the folders in the site itself when I see the list items.

I also noticed that the variation created list, has the "make new folder command available" is disabled by default..

Does anyone know how to debug this?

Is there a way to make public facing SPO Communication site?

I know that SPO Public sites are not supported anymore. But I need to find a way to make a SharePoint Online Communication site public i.e I want to enable anonymous access to the sitewithout having the users to sign in to Microsoft Accounts.

Is this possible and what are the restrictions for it?

I had configured Office Web Apps for SharePoint 2013 which was working fine for about 2 months until this morning.

Filtered Lookup field showing text instead of link to item after upgrade

I upgraded from SP 2010 to SP 2013 and now all Filtered Lookup columns in all lists are showing as text instead of link to item.

Notice I am talking about Filtered Lookup field and not Lookup field which is working fine.

So instead of showing as:

Record Number 1

It is actually showing as:

Is Sharepoint Foundation 2013 compatible with SQL 2012 Service Pack 4?

I was asked by SQL DB if there are no impact in sharepoint once they upgrade to SSQL 2012 Service Pack 4.

Currently I have a standalone server, with sharepoint and sql in it.

PROD-Sharepoint build version is ​15.0.4420.1017, Buid Name is RTM

In Dev I have 2 tier, SQL and WFE/APP

DEV - SharePoint build version 15.0.4571.1502 - Service Pack 1 Mark 2

Question is is there an impact in SP (both in prod and dev) if they apply this change?

Hello, 

I am working  on SharePoint 2016 installations . I have 4 servers which includes an SQL server. 

I am thinking on installing something like server 1 : web application with distributed cache, Server 2: Application server (all service applications), server 3: Search (all search components), Server 4: SQL server. 

I am not looking for DR or HA. I want a well performing farm. Does this plan look ok. Does any components of one service should on multiple server ? Is it ok to install all search components on one server. Please let me know any recommendations considering the number of servers I have

 one WFE and 1 SQL with SQL alias

 
looking through the ULS and see this:

We did thorough testing on the Project Server Migration and found the SQL Server is not responding as expected. 
Every time we run the PowerShell Migration command it aborts at the final stage while the database conversions in place, throwing the SQL error (below). We tried reinstalling SharePoint on all the servers in the farm to ensure the issue is not occurring from the SharePoint perspective, even took two steps back and repeated the migration from SharePoint 2010 to 2013 & 2016 respectively.

SQL First Error:
Migrate-SPProjectDatabase: Error encountered while migrating project data in Content database. The instance of the
SQL Server Database Engine cannot obtain a LOCK resource at this time. Rerun your statement when there are fewer
active users. Ask the database administrator to check the lock and memory configuration for this instance, or to check
for long-running transactions.

The latest error observed after the fresh SharePoint installation is as below: Our research on this resolution, clearly shows bout the SQL transaction logs for the Content database,  Project Server databases & SQL lock resources. Please find the top MSDN & SQL resolution articles below:

SharePoint 2013 Workflows-Workflow Manager not working

Hello All,

Recently i got an issue with SharePoint 2013 workflows where all my workflows were hung on start mode at stage1. where as 2010 workflows were working fine.

I don't see any issues with the workflow end points ( port 12291 or 12290). getting below error from ULS logs. Please check and advise.
