I'm just starting to learn about SharePoint 2013 but immediately of course see that in-place upgrade from 2010 is not supported. Currently for our development environment I have a small SharePoint 2010 farm with the databases (SQL 2008 R2) on one server and SharePoint 2010 installed on a second Windows 2008 R2 server. I have the same setup for our production farm.
When upgrading to SharePoint 2013, I'm wondering if there are any nice tricks that would allow me to re-use the same Windows 2008 R2 server, disconnecting the server from the 2010 farm, perhaps renaming some files or folders, and then installing 2013 on it? It's not the end of the world if not, of course, but I thought it might be nice, even if I can just do it for the development environment to play with SP 2013 a bit.
Thank you!
