Create extranet site and map it to Default Sharepoint site

Hello

I have default Sharepoint site. Now I want to create extranet site, so other people can access from outside.

I know little bit about Alternate Access mapping and extending default sharepoint web application.

Can anyone give me complete steps to create extranet site and map it to default sharepoint site?
