Hi,
We have been asked to install SharePoint on a different drive (from C: where the client's OS resides).
(It is our understanding) and we have also gone through many articles on the net (please see below) which suggest that the 15 Hive location is always created on the boot drive by SharePoint and that we can't change it, however, we can always specify a different location for SharePoint logs and Search Index files.

However, in the article below from Microsoft, there is a note put which mentions "As a best practice, we recommend that you install SharePoint 2013 on a non-system drive."

Please could anyone advise if MS actually mean that the location of the 15 Hive can be changed by simply providing a different file location during the SharePoint installation, or does the suggestion refer to storing log/search index files on a non-system drive.
(We will be testing the installation soon on a test VM to check this, however, might be quicker to ask).
Many thanks & kind regards,
Puneet
