Good day everyone!
I hope you guys are looking forward to the weekend!
I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight if I don't have this posted.
We are currently running under WSS 3.0 environment and soon to be migrated. We have one main site for our Canadian office which are accessed internally by users in other offices. We are looking forward to create 2 more individual sites with their own web application (one for UK, AU). I'm currently trying to design the most efficient way of linking all those 3 sites together, and the goal is "easy navigation" of different sites.
The idea right now is - having total of 3 web application: Canada, UK, AU. Set the GPO to have IE's home page of Canada site "http://SharePointCA" for Canadian Office. GPO set default page of AU site - http://SharePointAU for AU office. Lastly, set GPO to have the default page of UK site - http://SharePointUK for UK Office. The home page of each sites would have links to other office sites.
Originally, I wanted to link site collections to one master Hostname:
ie.http://SharePoint/AU
http://SharePoint/UK
http://SharePoint/CA
But that doesn't seem to work if I want to host sites within individual web applications, but would works if I have 3 site collection under one Web Application.
Could you guys share some ideas of how I should design this?
Your inputs are greatly appreciated!!
Thanks all for your effort and time! Looking forward to some great ideas!!
Best Regards,
Jerry L.
