Service fails to start on dependancy service

Windows 2003 R2 Standard server

SharePoint 3.0

SQL 2005 Server

I just uninstalled SQL 2005 server from my Windows 2003 Server

The SharePoint databases are now on my SQL 2008 Server which is on a Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit server.

When the sharePoint services try to start they fail

When I check the properties of the service and look at the dependencies there are no entries.

So where can I look to see this?

can I make it depend on the service on my windows 2008 server which is running the sql 2008 server?
