I'm having an issue with one server in my farm that doesn't respond to service stop/start requests in a timely manner. I can stop or start any SharePoint service (like claims to windows token, or Excel services) and they will sit at "Stopping"
or "Starting" for hours until some timer job kicks in I'm guessing that finally updates their status. I don't really see anything out of the ordinary in the event logs either.
Has anyone seen this before? This also affects updates that get run because the updates will wait until the services are fully stopped and started before completing which can take up to 12 hours it seems.
