Change port number

Windows 2012 Standard
SharePoint 2013 Foundation

Hello, I am using a VERY basic sharepoint site just for my (large) family to coordinate events etc...I have SharePoint 2013 installed, but it took port 80 which was being used by the default website in IIS. I would like to know how to either change the port number or add a host header to the site.

The site right now is completely empty (fresh install), so if I need to blow it away that is fine.

I found some instructions where you are supposed to go to the central administration > web applications then create/extend a site on the port you want, then remove the one on port 80. Trouble is the New, Extend and Delete buttons are grayed out. The verbiage on those instructions seems a little off, so perhaps it was for an earlier/different version.

Help please!

Thank you
