There is another thread on this, but all but one piece of documentation I can find online seems to indicate that the Secure Store Shared Service should be available in Sharepoint foundation and I'd really like to use it for a database connection. Unfortunately while it shows as up and running I get "The trial period for this product has expired or Secure Store Shared Service is not supported for this SKU."

This section of the Config is apparently for foundation yet it leads to the secure store article which then says applies to Enterprise only.

I realize that in all likelyhood nothing will be done, but it seems like a really annoying feature to leave out then not bother to update the installs and documentation to say it's not there for over a year.
At least perhaps an actual microsoft rep could answer this.
