Shared the MMS in five farms

Hi All,

we have 5 independent farms that requires taxonomy service. I thought to keep MMS in one farms and rest of the farms should share the same using the proxy.  Microsoft consulting service has recommended that MMS is not robust enough to be shared between 5 farms. we are told to use following solution.

1. Keep local MMS in each farm.
2. One farm will be master farm where taxonomy manager will maintain the taxonomy.
3. Using the Powershell, master farm taxonomy will be synchronized in all other farms.
4. During the synchronization GUID will be kept same across the farms.

I am bit confused. Soul purpose of bring the Shared Service provider is to enable us the share the shared service across the farms however recommendation that i have received is reverse of it.

I am requesting senior member to provide their guidance on this.
