I am in a situation where I need to be able to install SharePoint 2007 Service Pack _1_ on a Windows 2008 32 bit machine.
I am trying to get from where I am today to SP 2007 Service Pack 3 running on Windows Server 2008 32 bit.
I found a technet article that says that SP1 should run on Windows Server 2008 - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263408.aspx . A second article - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24264 - states however that SharePoint 2007 must be at Service Pack _2_ to be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.
So, if I understand this correctly, I can move my existing SP1 farm to Server 2008. However, before that farm can be upgraded to R2, I have to upgrade my SharePoint site to Service Pack 2 or newer.
Am I understanding this correctly?
I found the the WSS and MOSS SP 2007 SP1 downloads at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9061 and http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21698
But to install SP 2007 on the Server 2008, I am going to have to find a download of SharePoint already upgraded, right? Right now, all the SharePoint 2007's that I have found to download are at Service Pack 2.
