Error on site collection restore to same host named webapplication

Hi, using SharePoint server 2013.

I have hostnamed webapplication and host named site collections.

I did a back-up of one of my site collections http://mysitecollection, then deleted it.

When i tried to restore to the same location i got:

Restore-SPSite : The URL 'http://mysitecollection/' is in use as an alternate access URL or as the URL of a host header site.  Please c
hoose a different URL and try again.

Could this be caused by that I have to wait for the timer job to remove the deleted site collection first?

I have seen a few mentions that when using hostname site collections, I should not use host names webapplications. This true?

I use host named webapplication because i have multiple iis sites on the same port 80 and 443
