Adding SSL Certificate to SharePoint Site Failing

Hi,

i Have the following environment:

SQL: Win 2008 R2 with SQL 2008 R2 SP2

App Server: Win 2008 R2

WFE Server: Win 2008 R2

i Am trying to add a existing SSL Cert to a site.

Firstly let me make sure this cert will work. The client had it and they changed the name:

CN = DigiCert High Assurance CA-3
OU = www.digicert.com
O = DigiCert Inc
C = US

i Am useless when it gets to SSL and always struggle with it. Never done it on SharePoint before.

Not sure if any other info from the cert is needed?

Then, all the documents i followed i did on the WFE server? Followed a few step by step guides...

Client created a new request on the WFE server, did their thing at the cert authority and then completed the request on the WFE server.

Then there is different instructions after this but the last one i followed:

Created a Web Application on Port 80 and using a host header to port 80(http)

Then under the bindings i added a https with port 80 and in the drop down i selected the certificate.

There is other steps i followed from other instruction i followed.

One of them was to add the certificate under Security Manage Trusts but does not look like that made a diffrence...

How do you trouble shoot this?

What can the issue be?
