The 2013 Search Box web part is very large and when placed in a column layout page it grows the column and looks very unbalanced. I see search boxes on document libraries that are small and at the top of the page. How can we place a small search box on the page? I've tried modifying the search box web part size and it just puts scroll bars around it. In 2010 you could specify how many characters were allowed in the form file field.
